Ch 30 : After the second world war

- A few months later -

After almost two years of long, arduous battle, the second ninja war finally almost reached its end.

With Suna and Konoha reaching an agreement on a ceasefire, and Iwa and Kumo being defeated, all that was left was for Konoha to wait for Amegakure to surrender.

Chisaki had been withdrawn from the battlefield a few months prior as the Third Kazekage felt that Chisaki had gained enough experience in the battlefield, and now all that's left was just for him to digest it.

There was no really big change in the situation of the five great ninja villages.

Chisaki's intervention was like a trade-off for Konoha.

Even if they couldn't fully defeat Suna here, Suna wasn't that greedy for Konoha land and decided to just ceasefire, making Konoha focus more on the other sides of the battlefield, making the battle a lot easier for them.

Yup, even though Chisaki captured a lot of Konoha ninja, the casualties he caused could be said to be a lot less than the actual casualties of a long tiring battle between Suna and Konoha in the original timeline.

Like in the original, Konoha emerged from the war as the sole victor while Suna remained one that neither loses nor gains anything in this war.

The other village was not that lucky.

Kumo and Iwa needed to pay a huge amount of ransom and compensation for Konoha, while Ame was only able to hold on until now because of the presence of Demigod Hanzo.

Back to Suna, there were actually some threats from Iwa and Kumo because they thought that Suna had released the water against Konoha. However, the Third Kazekage at this time decides to ignore them. Different than before, the two ninja villages were now hurt, and if they really intended to provoke Suna, then The Third Kazekage wouldn't mind throwing a huge amount of Iron sand on their troops.

While the world was in turmoil, Chisaki was actually playing house back in his home with Konan.

After losing his father, he began to realize how much he cherished the people around him, and now he was accompanying Konan to train.

Contrary to Chisaki, who had graduated, Konan was still staying in the ninja academy.

At first, she wanted to graduate too after she knew that Chisaki had also graduated, but because of Chisaki's persuasion, she eventually succumbed and chose to stay in the ninja school until Chisaki deemed that she was strong enough.

Yup, Chisaki, who had lost his father didn't want to lose Konan too, and until he was sure that Konan could protect herself, he definitely wouldn't let Konan go to the battlefield.

" Try to put more of your thought into the paper, Konan. Imagine that it is part of yourself, and slowly bend them up to your will!"

Chisaki said as he was guiding Konan to be able to learn her forte, the paper ninjutsu.

In fact, Chisaki didn't really know what paper ninjutsu was and how could it be trained, all he could do was to give some suggestions, and the rest was left up to Konan.

Konan closed her eyes as she followed Chisaki's words.

She poured her chakra into the paper, and while it was hard at first, she slowly got the hang of it.

" Chisaki, look! I am finally able to make some paper shurikens!!"

Konan showed the paper shuriken at Chisaki before throwing them into the direction of a training dummy,

*Swoosh*

The paper Shuriken cleanly cut the training dummy into two, which made Chisaki shocked.

Never underestimate the paper. In the anime, Konan reached S-rank ninja with this paper ninjutsu.

Chisaki saw this, and he wasn't stingy with his praise.

He praised Konan high into the sky that it even made her start to blush.

" Good job Konan! You will definitely be one of the strongest female ninjas in this world!"

" Umm.. stop it, Chisaki, you'll make me blush. And if it is the strongest female ninja.."

" Hehe, believe in yourself more. I know you will soon reach that height!"

" Umm, if Chisaki said so, then.."

Chisaki really enjoyed his time with Konan.

Whenever he was with this girl, he felt like he could throw all his worry.

Seeing that beautiful smile that was not yet tainted with war, Konan at this time was certainly different from the Shippuden Konan, which rarely smiled in the anime. Nonetheless, Chisaki really liked this Konan more.

Konan was a beautiful girl, and it was even more the case if she smiled a lot.

Unfortunately for Chisaki and Konan, their time together didn't last that long.

Just when Chisaki and Konan were about to proceed with their training, a Suna anbu came to pick Chisaki.

It was a very common occurrence now that the two weren't surprised at all when they saw the Suna anbu come.

" Chisaki, the Kazekage is calling you!"

*Sigh* Really, old man? Why can't you give me a break?

Still, Chisaki, as a good citizen of Suna obviously wouldn't express his discontent in front of everyone here.

He nodded, and after saying goodbye to Konan, he quickly followed the anbu to the Third Kazekage's office.
