Naruto Online: The Strongest Shinobi

Michael, living in a dystopian world devastated by nuclear warfare, discovers a new VRMMORPG game called 'Elemental Nations.' Excited by the opportunity to escape his harsh reality, he purchases the Tier 1 headset and prepares to embark on an adventure. In his cramped living space, surrounded by the remnants of his previous life, Michael contemplates the hardships he and his family endure. The scarcity of resources and the confined conditions serve as constant reminders of the post-apocalyptic world they inhabit. As Michael watches the game's trailer, he recognizes familiar elements from the anime series Naruto. His passion for the show in his previous world fuels his excitement to explore this virtual rendition of the Naruto universe. However, in this new world, anime is not as popular, with people favoring slice-of-life stories over war-torn narratives. Equipped with the VR gear, Michael eagerly enters the game, expecting to unleash his knowledge of the Naruto world to become a powerful shinobi. The game's mechanics limit the number of players who can join as shinobi from the five great villages, adding a sense of exclusivity and competition to the experience. With the promise of potentially earning money through the game, Michael sees an opportunity to contribute to his family's welfare. Unemployment and limited opportunities in the real world have left him longing for a chance to make a difference. As the game servers go online, Michael finds himself transported to a new location, ready to embark on an extraordinary journey within the virtual world of Elemental Nations. Little does he know that this adventure will hold secrets, challenges, and the potential for him to become the hero he aspires to be.

Chapter 7: Hokage

Chapter 7: Hokage

"Jesus this is amazing!" I said, as I devoured the food in front of me.

"You think so?" Teuchi asked me as I ate his delicious food.

"I know so. This has to be the best in the entire world." I told him with a serious face.

"Aww…alright, todays on me, so eat up!"

(An hour and after too many bowls of Ramen)

"Imma die." I said, as I had a belly that made it seemed like I was going to give birth to twins.

However, looking at Naruto's, I realized he was worse off than me.

"Alright then, I have to go Naruto."

As I said that, I could see his happiness dull down. He obviously needed a friend in his life. However if there was 1 thing I learnt in my life, being there all the time was not a good thing. Limited time is what makes things amazing. Having something forever didn't make it better.

"How about we eat again tomorrow, my treat!"

"Depends on how long my mission takes. It is my first one tomorrow." I told him.

After that, even though it was fairly late, I stayed up and went to watch over the village. I scanned the entire place as much as I could until eventually spotting a young kid in a green spandex walking in a handstand.

He had weights around his legs, which caused his core to be tense to maintain balance upside down.

After roughly mapping out his training route, I decided it was time to cut my win streak off. I didn't need to rush all my character interactions. I could take my time with this one.

"Directions to Housing."

After that, I had followed the markings to its location, which was not far from my location, that was close to the Hokage's tower and Ichiraku Ramen shop.

It was a simple small house, with a bed, kitchen and a bathroom.

[When the Player falls asleep, he can only rejoin after a minimum of 1 hour unless his body is suddenly in immediate combat.]

This was when I realized this game was basically a second life.

I had to constantly login. If I didn't, my body would be considered as comatose and the village might even experiment on me.

This was what was going to differentiate between normal players and the advanced ones.

Luckily, there was an option to just sleep in the game, which was something I might use in the future.

But for now, I had logged out to check the communications of the entire world.

[Randomnoob342: Dam, joining a 3 man cell in the Stone Village is amazing. I instantly got a Earth Style Ninjutsu from my Jounin]

[UnluckySage: You mother F*****. You lucked out. 90% of the player population start as a Shinobi for the vassel villages of the 5 great powers. In my village, the strongest Shinobi is a Chunin!]

[PantherBlack?: Anyone who started in the Village Hidden in the Mist should watch out. I have heard some weird things about that place]

[Amazonian Princess: Do you guys think we are lucky to be in the first Generation? While we have a year over the others, I don't think it's that good of a thing]

[Hygiene is important: I think it was a good thing. Early access to information in a Ninja world has to be important]

[Greatest alive: That and whatever the sage thing is. Does anyone know about that?]

As I read through the community, I realized that everyone was extremely clueless about what was going on. Until I saw something that caught my eye.

[Use Protection: Dude who tf is this Orochimaru guy? Why is he so obsessed with me ?]

It seems like Pedomaru has struck in this world already.

That was when I decided to reply to his comment and make myself slightly active in the world.

[Greatest Sage Heavens Equal: What clan did you get? Is there anything specific he said about you?]

[Use Protection: I got some clan known as the Senjuclan? The mf kept liking his lips when he looked at me. I am currently stuck at some place]

As I saw that, I realized there were way more Uchiha and Senju in the world then I had expected. I probably made a smart choice to not pick the Uchiha clan.

I decided to re-login back into the game, and as I woke up, I saw that it was time for our first mission soon and thus walked to the Hokage's office.

The other 2 and the Jounin Sensei arrived soon after I did, and we began walking towards the Hokage's office.

"Be on your best behavior you lot. You are going to talk to the most influential person in the Village, so be respectful as you talk to him."

"Yes sensei." Replied Ayumi.

Kazuto and I just walked behind him without saying anything.

As we entered the room, the very first thing I had spotted was the amount of paper-work that could be seen.

"Ah, welcome Naido. Is it already time for me to assign your squad their first mission?" The Hokage asked, as he shuffled some paper around.

I had no good impression regarding the Hokage in front of me. He had ruined the village that Hashirama and Tobirama had worked so hard to build.

Konoha's major strengths, the Uchiha and Senju were killed off. One of their strongest allies, the Uzamaki clan, was also killed.

He lost multiple talented Shinobi, like the white fang of the leaf, simply due to propaganda bullshit that his best friend probably fabricated.

In the end, he was a horrible Kage, but still the 2nd strongest man currently in the village.

"Yes, Hokage-sama. We will take whatever mission you assign us." Naido-Sensei replied for us.

"Well then, let me explain what and how missions work to our new Genin." He said with a smile, as he put out his pipe before moving his paperwork to more clearly see us.
