Chapter 25: Mission to the Land of Waves

I spent a few days getting ready to leave for the land of waves.

Thankfully Mei was quite generous and showed me a few Boil and Lava jutsu as a down payment and thanks to training in a few of them out I was able to boost my body and chakra levels.

I was also able to unlock my second Kekkai Genkai, I can't say I didn't see this coming.

I know.

Kind of obvious when you think about it, the leaf village didn't have many Kekkai Genkai that required the use of two elements.

While I snuck away to practise the boil and lava release I also took the time to learn/recreate & improve the wood clone jutsu, I doubt anyone would be able to tell the difference between my clones and my real body.

I let Mei know I would be back soon with Zabuza and Haku before I headed towards the land of waves and she asked me to hurry.

I headed to the land of waves at full speed and quickly I came across the a large bridge still under construction, I recognised from the Anime as the Great Naruto bridge.

I kept my distance waiting for Zabuza and Haku to appear.

As it turns out I didn't have long to wait, Haku and Zabuza attacked just like they had in anime. Zabuza was creating a thick mist blocking Kakashi's vision, thankfully I was able to see them before the mist got too thick.

The moment Haku came in to my vision I activated my Ao Sharingan.

I thought about interfering straight away but, I know that this was a defining moment for Naruto. The moment he first uses Kurama's Chakra and the moment he finds his Ninja way.

I couldn't help but laugh when Naruto snuck in to Haku's Ice mirror jutsu, he really was an idiot sometimes.

Saskue managed to unlock his 2-tome Sharingan during his fight with Haku.

My blue eyes now showed 2-tome, I could also see Chakra now not just feel it and I could also see much further and clearer. All I can say is thank you Saskue and I can't wait to copy jutsu just by looking at it, it took so many attempts to watch and copy jutsu sometimes.

'I'll thank Saskue properly for this later'

Finally Naruto unleashed Kurama's chakra and when he did it was, well, immense didn't feel like it cut it. The amount of Chakra was less than when I saw Kurama in Naruto but this time I could feel the hate and rage that's deeply connect to his Chakra, Haku said it best, it felt like evil itself. Kakashi and Zabuza had also felt it and were shocked by the malice it was emitting.

I moved in closer ready to save Haku, as he was about to be killed by Naruto he could feel that Zabuza in trouble and about to die, he jumped up to get away from Naruto and tried to use an Ice jutsu to get to Zabuza. Thanks to the density of the mist I was able to knock him out and replace him with a wood clone, I had it jump in the way of Zabuza instead, thankfully the only person who was able to tell the difference between a wood clone and a real person was Madara Uchiha.

When Gato kicked Haku, Naruto had berated Zabuza for not doing anything and Zabuza started to cry over his dead pupil did I pop up. Naruto really did have a way with words to get a guy like Zabuza to feel that deeply.

"I guess it's a good thing that he's ok then" I jumped to the wood clone placing Haku on the floor beside it, I then reabsorbed it back in to my body. Gato quickly moved back as soon as I appeared covering himself with his men. Kakashi obviously recognised the wood clone jutsu and was shocked I could use wood release.

"Who are you?" Zabuza asked me slowly walking over to check on his pupil.

"Light what are you doing here?" Kakashi asked.

"Hey Light, long time no see" Naruto called out to me. I looked towards him and gave him a smile and a nod.

"I am on a mission involving the two of them" I pointed to Zabuza and Haku

"You know this brat Kakashi?"

Kakashi nodded "He is a free ninja who takes on jobs for whoever he chooses, he has mostly been working for the leaf and cloud."

"Ohhhh is that so, so who hired you to take me down brat. The cloud or the leaf? or maybe you've turned to bounty hunting and hope to get the bounty from the Mizukage" Zabuza had obviously misunderstood thinking I was there to either kidnap or kill him.

"Neither. I was sent by Mei Terumi, she needs help to free the mist from the fourth Mizukage and I suggested that you two might be willing to help"

Zabuza looked shocked when I mentioned Mei, I was rather surprised, it wasn't often that I found something that didn't exist in the anime I hadn't created myself.

"Is that so? well I suppose I do owe Mei a favour"

"Naruto where's Saskue?" Sakura came from the side leaving Naruto to look away from her, I could see he was in pain, thinking Saskue had died for him.

"He is fine, just needs a little rest is all" I called out to Sakura.

"Whaaa..." Naruto looked back at Saskue who was laying still on the ground.

Zabuza scoffed as he looked at Saskue "Haku is always too soft"

"He's ok? wait who are you?" Sakura looked angry and started to point at me. 'She is so annoying'

"Naruto and Kakashi will fill you in. Kakashi I assume you have no objections to me taking Zabuza and Haku with me, yes?"

"I see no problem with that, however, they might have something to say about it" he pointed to Gato and his army of thugs that had been threatening them and kicking the 'dead haku'

I pulled out my sword and pointed it to the ground. "I will give you one chance, leave or die" I saw some of Gato's men hesitate but they remained where they were.

"These men are loyal to me and you guys are all beat up" I admit that Kakashi and Zabuza looked exhausted but this guy really didn't understand how strong Ninja were compared to ordinary people. Not to mention them I could kill Gato and all his men in seconds.

I was about to let go and activate my Bankai when an arrow came from overhead. The kid Inari and the villagers had all appeared and were prepared to fight off Gato and all his men. Kakashi and Naruto both used the shadow clone jutsu to intimidate them.

"You can't do this to me!! Do you have any Idea who I am!!" Gato shouted.

Just before he was going to order his men to attack I used flash step and cut his head clean off, Kakashi and Naruto looked shocked I had done so, so did the villagers. His men lost their will to fight rushing off like they did in the anime.

"Why.. why did you?" Naruto asked.

"He was evil, down the core" I could feel the emotions coming off Gato they were nothing but evil, if I had let him live he would have continued to kill more and more people.

Naruto looked conflicted "Still.. you shouldn't have.."

"I should have let him go?" I asked Naruto.

"No but killing him was too far" Naruto nodded at me, resolute in his opinion.

I let out a sigh. "The last time I let someone like him go I found them again not long after, killing people, butchering them, the men, the women even the children" Kakashi had closed his eyes, he knew how I was feeling the pain that it can bring. "I would rather kill an evil man that be responsible for the death of another innocent"

Naruto was silent for a moment before shouting out "It's still wrong you can't!"

"NARUTO!" Kakashi shouted "That's enough."

I could hear Naruto muttering trying to find some logic in my actions, knowing him he wouldn't agree with my decision but he would try to understand it.

I turned to Zabuza who had been quiet this entire time "Now your not gonna be any use like that" I walked up to him and looked at his arms, pulling out the kunai that Kakashi had used. I used my healing jutsu and healed up his arms so he could at least move them again.

Zabuza picked up Haku and said very quietly "Thanks brat" When he picked up Haku I saw him make the same expression he did when he lay next to Haku ready to die. Laying next to someone he loved wish he could go to the same place.

"We are done here" I nodded to Zabuza who disappeared. "I will return home after I have dealt with my mission in the mist" I looked at Kakashi who gave me a nod.

"Wait!!" Naruto shouted out only to be pulled back by Kakashi.

I left and caught up to Zabuza and headed back to the mist.
