Chapter:- 40

"No hard feelings, Midoriya!" With that shout, Naruto moved his head and, using his teeth, tore the 10,000,000 point headband from the green-haired teenager's forehead. Both teams started descending, with the shinobi landing on his knees, kicking up a cloud of dust from the abrupt impact. "Ugh, that was tough." He removed the headband from his mouth and handed it to the still-shocked girl, who was struggling to grasp everything that had just happened.

"..." The entire stadium fell into silence at the astonishing sight they had just witnessed. Present Mic and Eraserhead, stationed on the sidelines, were equally baffled. The first to snap out of it was the commentator with eccentric hair, clutching his microphone tightly.

"This is incredible! Team Uzumaki and Shiozashi made an astonishing start! In just 20 seconds, they snagged 10 million points and shot to the top! There's a reason our egotistical blonde managed to outperform the entire Class 1-A single-handedly and thwart a villain invasion not long ago! That kid's got something special!" The commentator's words didn't entirely sway the audience, but some had to admit they had just witnessed something remarkable. "And Ms. Shiozashi displays remarkable courage. It's no fluke she's one of the top students in her class! What an odd team! A stern, perilous, enigmatic boy who won't hesitate to break bones! A sweet girl, pure as the driven snow! Quite the peculiar combination! But effective! Yeah!"

"A serious, dangerous, dark and violent boy? That offends, old man." Dismissing the comments with a snort, the shinobi got back on his feet and noticed that their competitors were recovering from the shock. Now, everyone was closing in on them.

"Don't mind him, Naruto-kun. We still need to press on. There's plenty of time left, and we have to keep going." Securing the 10 million point headband around her forehead, the green-haired teenager observed as they were surrounded. Several students from Class 1-B were among the first to approach, but they were forced to retreat when a barrier of green vines shielded the duo.

"It's like a lesser version of Mokuton. It centers on controlling your hair, which is essentially slender stems with tiny thorns... I wonder how much potential this ability holds," Naruto pondered curiously. He watched as a green dome formed around the teenager on his shoulders. It was evident that blows from the outside were futile.

Outside the dome, several students used their quirks in various ways to breach the plant barrier, but it reformed each time a section was destroyed, making their efforts more challenging. "Get out of there, you loser!" Bakugo didn't hesitate to leap forward, separating from his team. He clasped his hands together and unleashed a powerful explosion that nearly knocked nearby riders off their mounts. His objective: to bring down the dome. However, to his surprise, it turned out to be empty.

"Bakugo, watch out!" Sero, utilizing his quirk, extended ribbons from one of his arms just in time to catch his teammate, preventing him from being trampled by Naruto, who landed forcefully on the ground, creating a small crater.

With a calculated glance, the shinobi placed his palms on the earth and, using one of his legs as a pivot, spun like a top, raising a massive cloud of dust that quickly enveloped the entire area. Rising to his feet, the blonde stretched out his arms to secure his companion, who had descended from the sky. It was relatively simple for him to propel her high into the air before making the earth-fall maneuver, obscuring everyone's vision with a layer of dust.

"I'm ready," the teenager adapted quickly, clambering onto the shinobi's back. She wound her legs around the boy's torso and her arms around his neck, being carried. Deep down, she appreciated the chance to be on his back, as it concealed her breasts pressing against his back and her own blush. She had never been so close to a boy before.

Noticing his teammate's readiness, Naruto sprinted through the dust cloud with a grin. If she wanted them to shine and showcase their abilities, so be it.

"The dust cloud conceals everything! But you can still see movement down there, and it's clear that things are getting hazy since we can't spot any movements!" Present Mic commented as he observed the gradually dissipating dust cloud, revealing all the participating students in the festival.

"Mineta and your gang?" One of the teams comprised Asui, Mineta, and Shoji, with the former two riding atop the six-armed giant who acted like a shield, covering both teammates on his back. However, it appeared the protection wasn't foolproof, as the frog girl now looked frustrated at the dwarf who had lost the headband from his forehead.

"They swiped it from me!" he exclaimed in despair, and he wasn't the only one. When the dust finally settled, several teams noticed the absence of their headbands. The only teams whose headbands hadn't been stolen were Midoriya's, Todoroki's, Shinsho's, Bakugo's, and Monoma's. Among these, the last two were still having their own face-off.

At one end of the track, Naruto bent his knees and sighed. Looking back, he noticed how several strands of his partner's hair were securing the headbands they had collected. Taking advantage of others' assumptions that they'd be overlooked due to their low point count and striking at the last moment to secure what they needed to win had proven to be an effective strategy.
