61 Chapter 61: The man behind the mask and the abandoned Son

"How are our plans coming through?" A masked man asked in a serious tone while chilling on top of a tree branch.

A half-white and half-black creature whose head was in the center of what looked like a Venus flytrap materialized out of the branch and answered "They are going just as we expected however there have been slight complications, Obito."

"How many times have I told you to call me either Madara or Tobi? Obito died the day Rin died." The masked man aka Tobi aka Obito glared at Zetsu as one of his only eye shined red.

"Fine, Sorry Tobi-san" White zetsu said comically.

"Give me a report about everything," Tobi said

"Nagato is still trying to train his rinnegan and he would get rid of Hanzo most probably by the end of the next year. He would then help you with your goal for the peace of the world as he promised."

"Why is he taking so much time? Hanzo is already old and he could easily take care of him, especially with the Rinnegan no matter if he is crippled or not." Obito said not happy about the slow pace of events.

"Don't underestimate him. He fought against the three Sanins. In fact, he won against all three of them and was the one who gave them their titles. If he was not worried about the retaliation of the leaf village and the third Hokage who was in his prime at that time, he would have killed all three of them. Nagato should take all the time he wants but we can't afford him to fail." Black Zetsu said

'A year extra is nothing for me who has waited thousands of years for this.' Black Zetsu internally thought

Obito just snorted and asked "How about the five great shinobi villages? Have we weakened them enough?"

"This is where the problem lies. Despite your actions and the three great shinobi wars, all the villages are still too strong to our liking."

"The hidden Mist despite the death of their third mizukage as well as the death of four of their seven ninja swordsman is still strong with their bloodline clans especially that of the Hozuki and Yuki clans since their kekkei genkais are troublesome and unique. Kaguya clan is not that special since there are not more than three users of their kekkei genkai. From what I have gathered, it seems they have already started training shinobi to become the holder of one of the seven swords. While the slaughter of children in their academy has reduced their number, it has increased the quality of their shinobi."

Obito thought for a few seconds and said "We will have to do something about their bloodline clans. Tell me about the candidates who are in line to become one of the next holders of the swords.

"Zabuza Momichi also known as the demon of hidden mist is one of the candidates, Kisame Hoshikage, is another strong one and the genius who became a genin this year, Mangetsu Hozuki. They are even training some elite jonin to wield these swords now before these kids get ready." Zetsu answered

"What about sand and the rock?"

"Sand with their two honoured siblings, their fourth Kazekage, Rasa, and Pakura of the scorch release along with a few talented jonins are still a strong force despite the old age of the honored siblings as well as the young age of their jinchuriki. As for Rock, they are currently at their weakest after the fourth Hokage killed a thousand of their shinobi. They also suffered huge number of casualties when they surrounded the third Raikage in the last war with ten thousand of their men. Their strength lies with their jinchurikis as well as their Tsushikage who is the only one with a kekkei tôta. They also have a lot of shinobis with kekkei genkais ranging from steel release to lava release to explosion release."

Black Zetsu paused for a moment then smirked as he said "But we don't have to worry much about these two villages. Through one of my clones, I have gathered that the Kazekage is going to get Pakura killed by the mist since she killed a lot of their shinobi in exchange for peace as well as to avoid any competition to his Kazekage seat. Onoki is not someone who would sit on the sidelines, he would definitely provoke other villages in the future seeing their declining strength. He can be a good pawn for us."

"Hmmm. What about Kumo?"

"While the death of the third Raikage hit them hard, They have the most military might after Leaf. Both of their Jinchurikies have complete control of their tailed beast and can undergo full-tailed beast transformation while staying in control. Along with their 'Letter' shinobis, they are quite strong."

"So the only village that has weakened is Leaf. Huh?" Obito said to which black Zetsu shook his head.

White Zetsu was quiet throughout the conversation as he was not good for these serious conversations.

"I am afraid not. Yes, the death of Fourth Hogake and the former nine tails jinchuriki hit them hard. But the shinibos who died in that attack were minimal and not to your expectations. They still have their three sanins despite one being out of the village constantly. The third Hokage has also been aggressive in stabilizing the village and increasing its military strength after he retook his Hokage seat. He took more than fifty percent of Danzo's Root Anbu under his command. The number of shinobi passing out of the academy has also increased. There are talents everywhere ranging from Kakashi Hatake, Asuma Sarutobi, Shisui Uchiha and many more. They have more powerhouses in the form of Fugaku Uchiha, Hiashi Hyuga, the Nara- Shika-Cho clan heads, and Shikuro Aburame to name a few. They also have young talents that are terrifying, to say the least." Before Zetsu could continue and tell him about the terrifying talent of the three genins that he had observed, Obito spoke up

"I have heard enough. We will have to prepare for all the situations. While Nagato is dealing with Hanzo, you get me information about possible recruits who would help us in our cause." Obito said as he disappeared in a swirl.

'Well, they are still kids. It would take them at least two decades before they could cause us troubles but Mother would have long been revived by then.' Black Zetsu thought as he evilly laughed in his mind.
