Chapter 12: Transformation Jutsu

Hiruzen explained the transformation jutsu to Ken.

"The Transformation Technique allows the user to take the appearance of whatever they choose. This technique is most often used to disguise the user as another person, but they can also turn into an animal, plant, or inanimate object."

"Though, it is most difficult to transform into inanimate objects, as we would have to familiarise ourselves with an object's weight and feel it before assuming its form."

"We will also gain the attributes and physical features of whatever we transform into, such as a weapon's sharpness or an animal's fangs. To be able to assume so many different forms makes this technique invaluable for not just combat, but intelligence gathering and diversionary tactics as well."

"Alright before you ask can questions. Let me tell you that unlike many who believe transformation jutsu is a type of genjutsu and it fools the mind, it is not. Now you can ask your questions." Hiruzen said

'What he said is reasonable. If transformation jutsu was a genjutsu then Naruto's sexy jutsu would not have worked on Hiruzen, Jiraiya, and Kaguya.' Ken thought

"Why can't a ninja just use body transformation jutsu to change into a healthier version of themselves when injured in a fight?"

"What happens if a crippled man (broken legs for example) had to transform into a non-crippled version of himself? Could he walk normally now?"

Hiruzen was stupified by the questions asked by his grandson.

'Ah, such curiosity for shinobi arts at such a young age. He would surely become a good shinobi.' Hiruzen thought as he answered his questions

"No, that's not strictly how it works.

You do gain the attributes and the physical features, yes. But that's only a disguise. You don't get things like a missing limb back, but you can make it look like you have your legs in their previous condition. The problem would come when you have to move your body. While transformed you could get people to believe you stood up straight, you would then have to move forward to get anywhere. People would easily see right through the disguise."

"Also, You might want to say that you would be able to fly like a bird after transforming into it. Again, it's not possible as even if you do know about the internal structure of the birds, you do not necessarily have wings. Yes, You can create them with transformation jutsu but you can't use it to fly. Also transforming into objects or something very small or big takes huge amounts of chakra so it's considered a waste to do so."

'There goes my plan to transform into a bird and fly. I don't think that transforming into an object is that tough.

Naruto transformed into a demon windmill shurinken against Zabuza quite easily but that was maybe because he had huge amounts of chakra.' Ken thought

'Naruto also had the properties of a demon windwill shurinken so it should be possible to transform into dharp objects. I should try transforming my limbs into swords like Shiki in one piece. I dont think that it would be possible to just transform partly. But i should still give it a try.'

"Now that we are done. Let's see you use the jutsus." Hiruzen then showed him the hand signs for the jutsus. He also told him how to guide his chakra through his body to complete the Jutsus.

He started by trying to use substitution jutsu. Ken managed to use substitution jutsu successfully after 7-8 attempts.

He followed it up with a transformation technique. He then transformed into a perfect copy of Hiruzen after 5 attempts.

'He is talented with ninjutsu. The speed at which he mastered the three jutsus is quite good. Well, looks like the Sarutobi clan has another person who is extremely talented in ninjutsu after my father, Shinsuke, and me.'

Ken first did the hand signs for the clone jutsu and created twenty perfect clones on the first try. He only wanted to create one though.

'Oh, is not that a surprise? His chakra control is not still optimal and that's why he put more chakra than required in the clone jutsu. But the clone jutsu that he performed is perfect in his first try. He must really be talented in Genjutsu. If he just showed the enthusiasm that he shows while learning ninjutsu with taijutsu, he would become one of the strongest shinobi eventually.' Hiruzen could only smile wryly as he remembered how Ken would run away from Mukai in the past months shouting 'Demon'.

"I did it, grandpa!! This is so awesomeeee. Now can we learn more ninjutsu before we get back to the other chakra control techniques." Ken said as all the illusionary clones jumped in the air in excitement.

"As much as I would love to teach you ninjutsu, Your chakra control is still lacking. You would have to train tree walking and water walking. If I find your chakra control to be good and adequate, I will train you in other ninjutsus. But you can still practice these three jutsus." Hiruzen said

Ken could only complain. He would have to face the most annoying enemy of his shinobi life once again, chakra control.

"Well, It looks like it is time for your Taijutsu class with Mukai. I would have to go and attend to my Hokage duties now. So I eill see you tomorrow then." Hiruzen said as he saw Mukai appear on the training grounds.

'Scratch that, Mukai and taijutsu are the worst enemies of my shinobi life.' Ken thought
