Chapter 105: Grandpa Vs Grandson (3)

The entire training ground was buried under 10 meters of Water while the Earth walls stopped the water from flowing out.

Ken had taken this water from the nearby river. Now people might think that it's a good idea for water-style users to take these scrolls everywhere as they would always have water supply in hand which would mean stronger water-style jutsus and less chakra expenditure which was kinda true.

But the scrolls themself were not easy to acquire. The scrolls with this much space can be only made by Master fuinjutsu practitioners or a grandmaster. They were very rare and charged a large amount of money to make a scroll of this capacity not to mention four of them.

Even with the storage scrolls, there was an issue that they could only be used in a closed region, or else the water would spread everywhere making the water useless. Ken only used it because he knew that his grandpa would not leave the training ground and he prevented the water from draining out with the help of Earth Walls.

'I hope this tactic at least works. I don't have much chakra left and after this, I would be completely spent,' Ken thought as he made hand signs while waiting for his shadow clone to act.

During the explosion of the two Karyu Endanz, Ken had created a shadow clone that had hidden itself underneath the ground. Normally, Hiruzen would not fall for this tactic but to make the spar more fun, he had not activated his chakra field which allowed him to sense irregularities.

Ken had figured out about this when Hiruzen failed to react to his exploding Lava clones.

What Ken did not know was that Hiruzen was not only suppressing his chakra field but also his other senses. Due to his monkey sage mode training, he had better control over his body which meant he could temporality shut down the sense of smell and hearing.

His instincts as a shinobi were also quite good and he had to control his body to not immediately react in case of danger.

Hiruzen knew that he had counters for everything Ken threw at him and he knew that Ken also knew this. He wanted to see Ken's ability to adapt and improvise in the middle of battle. That was a characteristic a good shinobi should have to survive and win in unfavorable situations.

If he used his sensory abilities then all of it would be useless and he could easily deal with any of Ken's traps. The power gap between the two was so much that it could not be suppressed with just some Kekkei Genkai jutsus.

Knowing when to give up when you have no chance of winning a battle was something that a shinobi needed to know but this was not the purpose of this spar.

Hiruzen had not told Ken about it as he wanted Ken to figure it out on his own. He had left that weakness for him to figure it out which he did. After all no enemy would willingly reveal their weakness to his enemy and it was the job of the enemy to figure it out himself.

'So what is your motive behind using the water, Ken? It would have been a viable strategy if you knew water-style jutsus or even ice-style jutsus but you clearly don't.' Hiruzen thought as he watched Ken make hand signs then he realized what he was doing.

'Those hand signs...Cheeky little bra..' Before Hiruzen could complete his thought two hands grabbed him from below and pulled him underwater.

'A shadow clone?' Hiruzen thought as he kicked the shadow clone Ken to oblivion but the damage was done. Ken had already completed his hand signs and was just waiting for the shadow clone to act.

'Lava Style: Cement Coffin'

Ken released huge amounts of quicklime from his mouth on the water which turned the entire water into cement almost instantly. Then he placed some sealing tags on it.

Black lines spread through the entire cement making the cement even more resistant.

'He would break from it soon enough. Time for the finale.' Ken gathered all of his remaining chakra into his hand.

The cement started to shake violently but Ken continued to pour more and more chakra into his hand. A giant ball of chakra that rotated at a high speed formed in his hand.

Hiruzen exploded with chakra breaking the cement as he huffed from exerting so much chakra from his body at once.

As he looked for Ken, he saw his grandson right above him with a giant ball of chakra aimed right at him.

It was Hiruzen turn to get shocked 'You got to be kidding me! Is he trying to kill me? I have no time to use any jutsu or dodge it. I should have kept my chakra field active against this brat. Well, I have no choice but to use sage mode. Good thing that I can activate it instantly unlike Jiraiya. But to think that Ken would be the first one to make me use sage mode.'

Ken normally did not shout his move but this felt the right time to do it "GIANT RASENGAN!!"

The giant Rasengan slammed into Hiruzen's entire body slamming him into the leftover concrete cement. An explosion with Hiruzen's body at the center of it took place.

Ken huffed and puffed as he collapsed due to chakra exhaustion. He mumbled "I hope you are alive Grandpa. Well, I would not mind inheriting your wealth early on either," and then he fainted.
