Who's Winning?

Tazuna was a little confused, wondering why anyone would work for free. Therefore, he observed Kakashi, wondering what the man was going to do. 

As Kakashi walked up to the crowd of excited villagers, he bought a Megaphone from the System Shop and brought it to his mouth. He was too lazy to shout, so he was going to use this instead. 

"Can everyone hear me?" Kakashi spoke into the megaphone. 

The main orphan boy rushed to the front of the crowd and spoke loudly. "YES, WE CAN HEAR YOU, MR BREAST!!" 

The other villagers also stopped the chattering and looked at Kakashi, wondering what he had to say. Anyways, it wouldn't be anything bad, right? First he gave out free food. Then, he even let them have their revenge on Gato's men. 

Whatever it may be… he already has a good history record. 

They were all rather intrigued at the device that Kakashi used to raise his voice, though. Sakura and the others included. 

Naruto looked up to Kakashi even more when he saw his sensei raising his voice without using a jutsu. By now, he is already convinced that his Kakashi sensei is a hermit sage that is coming out of his shell. 

Good, Kakashi thought, smiling. So this was what it felt like to command attention. He continued further, raising his voice.

"Alright, everyone." Kakashi began, "Since the main threat of Gato and his thugs has been eliminated, old man Tazuna here, has been in a real dilemma concerning the completion of the bridge and would like to enlist each and everyone here to help." 

Rumblings rose up from the crowd, as the people began talking to each other. They wondered if they should even help… like all people, they don't like extra work. 

"Are we going to get paid?" A young man asked, his voice rising above others. A few others followed suit and raised their voices in protest.

Kakashi knew that these normies were just trying to gain benefits. He knew them all too well… But he was great with words. He also knew the Talk-no-Jutsu! 

Kakashi's eyes narrowed into a shrewd one as his mouth arched up. 

"Pay? There is no pay! However, I will feed each and everyone of you like before! And if we finish this bridge by tomorrow, I will even let all of you eat the exclusive foods that you've all yearned for! Deep fried Chicken, bread so soft that you'll feel like you're in heaven, and cheezy pizza that would melt in your mouth! These are unhealthy foods, but I will let all of you indulge in them once!" 

Many villagers gulped when they heard this. They had walked past those foods so many times with their mouths salivating. Now, are they getting the chance to try it? They trembled in anticipation. 

Kakashi knew he had their attention now and added even more benefits to his food reward. You may think he's going to lose too many points but no… you are dead wrong. Kakashi had built all of this up with his meticulous mind, planning to earn an unfounded amount of Scumbag Points.

So he continued: "And some of you may believe that this bridge doesn't concern you, but it does! The sooner the bridge is finished, the faster trade will be open to this village, and the quality of your lives would be made better! You will no longer have to grieve under the tranny of another criminal group like Gato's because everyone will now have access to Konoha and come ask for help when needed!" Kakashi threw out other benefits. 

He was using a psychological trick, telling the villagers what they will gain, stacking those gains on top of one another until it became something amazing. It was all about them, their benefits, what they can eat… etc. 

He never once spoke about what he would gain… because what he would gain is something more amazing than their gains. 

This worked well and some villagers were already hyper, asking: "What do we do?!" 

Some even came up and said: "You don't even have to do that! We can work for free! This bridge concerns all of us after all!" 

And then there were the ones like the orphan kid. 

"Mr Breast! You're the best! I want to follow no one else but you!" The kid excitedly cheered like a crazed fan. 

Kakashi stopped the people from getting too excited before giving them their first task: "Alright, everyone! Whoever wants to stay for FREE food and fight for THEIR BENEFITS, let's get to work! You all have to first help clear the bridge of the blood and bodies of Gato's thug's! Take them away and bury them or burn them! Just go and follow old man Tazuna's orders while I prepare a feast for you! Remember, even kids and old people are welcome! You don't have to deal with the bodies, but you should definitely stay for the bridge project!" 

Excited, the villagers all headed to Tazuna, asking what they should do. Many of the orphan kids stayed back, however. The scene was a little too gory for them. 

"Kakashi-sensei," said Naruto as he witnessed what Kakashi had done. 

"What?" Kakashi looked at Naruto, wondering what the kid wanted. 

"Although you say you're a scum, you're really a good person! You've helped so many people and brought so many smiles to them!" Naruto said excitedly. "You're also strong and you definitely know how to make me strong!" 

Kakashi tilted his head, a small smirk playing on his lips as he regarded the eager boy in front of him. "And your point is?" he asked, curious to see where this conversation was heading.

Naruto's blue eyes lit up with determination as he answered, "I want to become like you! And I want you to officially teach me your ways!" He clenched his hands in excitement and pleaded with puppy-dog eyes, hoping to sway his sensei.

Kakashi's visible eye crinkled in amusement at the main character's enthusiasm. "Be like me? A scum with standards?" he teased lightly.

But Naruto was undeterred, bouncing on the balls of his feet and pleading once more, "Yes, I'll even learn your scummy ways if that means that you'll teach me how to become strong! Please please please pretty please!!"

"Sure, why not. I'll make you so strong that you can become Hokage in the future." Kakashi smiled evilly behind his mask. He felt that this was a great opportunity to slowly corrupt Naruto. 

"YESS!!" Naruto beamed and ran towards Sakura and Sasuke to boast about his new achievement. 

… 

… 

The bridge's work was quickly sped up with the combined help of all the villagers. 

Of course, he didn't forget to give them bland foods while he taunted them with some delicious KFC, saything that they'll get to taste it once the bridge is complete. 

He found out, however, that the amount of Scumbag Points he's gaining from doing this is slowly reducing. 

He wasn't going to break even if this trend continued. 

Anyways, he wasn't going to continue to do this for the long run, so it didn't matter. 

Surprisingly, the bridge was cleaned up to its pristine state within a couple of hours and construction began immediately after that. 

By the time dusk came, the bridge was already 93% complete! The supposed four or five days became only one day as they were expected to finish tomorrow with all the energetic workers. 

The delicious food party was also going to occur tomorrow after the bridge's completion. That day is also the one where he's going to reap in tons of points.
