"I don't know what's going on either. It seems to have something to do with the reinforcements sent by Orochimaru."
A few hours later, when the reinforcements arrived, everyone understood why Takuya had immediately started cursing Orochimaru's entire family.
This arrangement was indeed a bit messed up.
If you weren't going to send strong fighters, at least send a capable chunin squad!
What was the point of sending a bunch of rookies?
Seeing the genin looking around curiously, not just Takuya, even the Uchiha members felt like cursing.
They really had become babysitters.
Hopefully, Kirigakure wouldn't choose to clash with them in the Land of Bears, or else how many of these people would survive was anyone's guess.
Quite a few of Uchiha's chunin had already perished—what chance did these inexperienced chunin and genin have?
The Kaguya clan had suffered heavy losses, even losing their clan leader in the Land of Bears, yet Yagura did not blame them, knowing they had done their best.
Against someone like Yagami Takuya, even the so-called "madmen" of the Kaguya clan couldn't hold out.
Susano'o, the Mangekyo Sharingan.
These terms weren't entirely foreign to Yagura.
He had read the records kept in the village, and with the presence of the Kaguya clan and Konoha's strength, it was hard not to notice.
After all, Uchiha Madara had quite the reputation for arrogance back in the day.
Yagura sent the information back to the village immediately.
"Mangekyo Sharingan?"
When the Third Mizukage heard the news, he was taken aback.
He contacted Black Zetsu right away.
"Are you saying that Yagami Takuya from Konoha has awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan?"
"There's no mistake. He used Susano'o during his fight against Kaguya Hōmei in the Land of Bears."
Both the Third Mizukage and Black Zetsu understood what it meant to be able to use Susano'o.
The Third Mizukage asked:
"Could this Yagami Takuya be a suitable candidate for Madara-sama?"
Uchiha Madara needed to find someone to help him with certain tasks and also to keep an eye on Nagato—
To be precise, to keep an eye on the Rinnegan, so he could control Nagato and revive him at the right time.
Black Zetsu had been working on this for a long time but hadn't found a suitable candidate.
At one point, Black Zetsu thought Takuya could be a candidate, but Madara dismissed him due to Takuya being a half-blood, leading Black Zetsu to abandon the idea of approaching Takuya and continue the search.
"His parents died because of Konoha, and he has faced countless obstacles growing up. His relationship with the higher-ups in Konoha is quite strained.
If Madara-sama is satisfied, it might be worth approaching him and trying to convince him."
"By the way, how long do you plan to keep this up?"
The Third Mizukage had been discarded by Uchiha Madara, and Tobi intended to make full use of him.
But now, it seemed things were going nowhere.
"This village is too weak; it can't pose enough of a threat to Konoha. I almost got blown to bits!
Damn Yagami Takuya, how did he control a Tailed Beast Bomb?"
Just thinking about it made the Third Mizukage furious.
Last time, while in the bathroom, he had been caught by Hatake Sakumo, who had swung his blade at him, scaring him into running away with his pants half up.
The second time was even more absurd—Takuya had directly bombarded him with a Tailed Beast Bomb.
If he hadn't reacted quickly, he would've been pushing up daisies by now.
You're asking me? Who do I ask?
Black Zetsu was speechless. After a moment's silence, he replied:
"Based on my investigation, he contracted a powerful summoning beast that resembles the Nine-Tails in appearance and even in chakra. It's almost like an extra Tailed Beast. I think that's how he gained control of the Tailed Beast Bomb."
Scratching his head, the Third Mizukage said in frustration:
"I thought weakening Konoha and the other villages would help Madara-sama's plan, but Kirigakure is too weak to cause Konoha much trouble."
...
That was because Madara-sama went overboard.
Black Zetsu's mouth twitched.
"If you really want to weaken Konoha, I suggest deploying the jinchuriki to the frontlines and making contact with the other villages. I believe they'll be interested in the fertile lands of the Land of Fire."
After giving this suggestion, Black Zetsu left.
He wasn't in the mood to deal with this nonsense. If the Third Mizukage wanted to play, he could give him some ideas.
For example, send the jinchuriki to the battlefield, and let the monitoring unit deploy them.
If a jinchuriki appeared on the battlefield and lost control, causing the Tailed Beast to go berserk, Black Zetsu believed Konoha wouldn't be able to handle it.
As long as the jinchuriki wasn't sent to the Land of Bears, an appearance on the main battlefield would cause significant damage to Konoha.
If it was all just for fun, they might as well go big.
A Tailed Beast going berserk would ultimately hurt both Kirigakure and Konoha, and it had nothing to do with them.
"This could be interesting."
The Third Mizukage's face twisted into an unusual, almost comedic grin, his shoulders shaking as he laughed. Paired with his old face, the sight was entirely out of place.
"What?"
The Mizukage is personally heading to the frontlines to command operations?
When this order was passed down, many were stunned. After all, the Third Mizukage wasn't exactly young anymore.
At his age, just walking without throwing out his back was already impressive, and now he wanted to head to the frontlines?
What was the Mizukage thinking?
That alone would have been surprising enough, but even more shocking was that the Third Mizukage ordered the jinchuriki to be brought along, seemingly planning to have them join the fight.
This sudden turn left many in Kirigakure with chills running down their spines.
Was the Mizukage's madness acting up again?
When Yagura received the news that the Third Mizukage was personally coming to oversee the frontlines, he nearly fell off his chair.
...
The scroll Orochimaru had sent was delivered to Danzo.
The moment Danzo read the contents, his face turned livid with rage.
"I knew we shouldn't have let Yagami Takuya grow unchecked, but Sarutobi just wouldn't listen to me."
"The Mangekyo Sharingan."
Danzo clenched his fist, wishing he could fly to the Land of Bears and gouge out Takuya's eyes.
Unfortunately, he couldn't do that, and this idea could only remain a fantasy.
Danzo had never imagined that the eyes he had coveted for so long were already in Takuya's possession.
"Uchiha Kagami, that useless fool, even had his eyes destroyed before he died."
Thinking of the damaged Sharingan in his possession, Danzo angrily cursed.
His interest in the Mangekyo Sharingan wasn't new; he'd coveted them for a long time.
His former teammate, Uchiha Kagami, had such eyes, and they had greatly increased Kagami's strength.
If not for Konoha's anti-Uchiha policies, the position of Hokage wouldn't have gone to the Third Hokage.
In terms of strength and other qualities, Kagami surpassed the likes of the Third Hokage and others.
But Kagami had died young during the First Shinobi World War.
His Sharingan had ended up in Danzo's hands, but by then, the eyes had already deteriorated.
One of Danzo's projects with Orochimaru involved research into the Mangekyo Sharingan.
The Anbu ninja knelt silently, ignoring Danzo's ranting.
"Go back and tell Orochimaru that I will fulfill my promise to him. He just needs to wait for my good news."
