"Hiruzen!"
Danzo kicked open the door of the Hokage Office in anger, only to see Hiruzen looking out of the window as Konoha was being rebuilt.
"What is it, Danzo? Are the other villages making a move?"
Danzo, furious, banged on the table with his functional hand.
"What is this that I am hearing? Accepting Shisui Uchiha as a disciple? Do you intend to teach him Flying Thunder God too?"
Hiruzen finally looked at Danzo. With an expression that reminded Danzo of the times when Hiruzen was young.
"Not only Shisui. But Kakashi as well. The village is weak right now. We need to nurture the young according to the Will of Fire-"
"Don't give me that nonsense. Shisui awakened the Three-tomoe sharingan at just the age of 7. Around the same age Madara. What if he awakens the Mangekyo Sharingan? What will you do?"
Both Hiruzen and Danzo has witnessed the battle between Hashirama and Madara.
While there is almost no chance of someone awakening Wood Release, considering that the main family line of the Senju clan only has Tsunade left, Mangekyo Sharingan has a greater chance of awakening.
Afterall, before the formation of Konoha, both Madara and Izuna Uchiha had the Mangekyo Sharingan, while only Hashirama had Wood Release.
Given Shisui's talent, it might be possible that he will awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan in the future.
"Well, isn't this a good thing for Konoha? If Shisui really awakens the Mangekyo Sharingan in the future, no village will dare to attack Konoha."
Danzo scoffed.
"Is this why you increased the funding for Wood Release Research? So that, even if a Madara appears, a Hashirama can keep him in check?"
Hiruzen didn't really say anything, and tossed Danzo a scroll.
"Find out what the Mist Village is upto. Cloud has started making moves."
Danzo readily accepted the task.
"You won't change your mind, Hiruzen?"
"No. Danzo, I am the Hokage."
"Hiruzen, you will regret this."
Danzo scoffed and left the office. Hiruzen is playing the balancing act. While he agreed to Danzo's plan of pushing the Uchiha clan to the outskirts, he accepted Shisui as a disciple.
It must not be out of goodwill or Hiruzen changing after the little speech that Shisui gave inside the office.
Afterall, when he got his genin team, Orochimaru and Tsunade were understandable. Orochimaru was the top of his class, and Tsunade is the granddaughter of Hashirama, so there was a chance that she might awaken Wood Release in the future.
But, Jiraiya was at the bottom of the class. And in the third place after Orochimaru and Tsunade, there was an Uchiha.
Yet, he chose Jiraiya who only got lucky two years after Hiruzen has already started training them by getting the summoning of the toads.
And even for his students, he didn't give them any Uchiha student.
Jiraiya got Minato and two other civilians, Orochimaru got Nawaki, and just a year ago, Anko. And well, Tsunade has taught hundreds of people medical ninjutsu, so she didn't really have the time to take on a genin team.
And with Minato, Hiruzen finally gave him an Uchiha student. But that was the trash Obito, who even gave away his Sharingan when dying.
And now, all of a sudden, he decided to train both Shisui and Kakashi?
Tch!
Danzo clicked his tongue. He wanted to recruit Kakashi into ROOT. He has perfect darkness.
As for what to do about Shisui? Killing him right now won't do anything good. First, Danzo will observe and see whether his talents can be used by him.
If yes, Shisui will live.
If no, he will be sent to fight Kumo and Kiri frontline. A wrong intelligence report may happen, and he might encounter several jonins instead of chunins and genins.
Danzo grumbled, but put his focus on Mist while thinking about what Shisui said.
It may be a Senju or Uzumaki which attacked the village two days ago with the Kyuubi. Who somehow acquired a Mangekyo Sharingan. Since even Kakashi can handle a three-tomoe Sharingan, it's quite possible that what Shisui said may be true.
He arrived at the ROOT base, and ordered to search for any Uzumaki that might be outside the village.
When he acquires a large amount of Sharingans, having an Uzumaki handle a pair of Sharingan will be beneficial.
---------------------------
Orochimaru was in the gravesite, having just returned from a mission. When Kyuubi attacked the village, he was on a mission, just like Jiraiya. Afterall, Mist has been acting up recently.
'So Minato is dead huh. And I guess Sarutobi has completely lost hope in me.'
He wasn't particularly sad about it. Even he had to admit, Minato was stronger than him even though he was quite young. Well, he had a habit of mastering all kinds of Ninjutsu, while Minato focused on some. Minato was a ninja, and Orochimaru is a scientist.
And seeing that Hiruzen didn't name him the next Hokage, and instead got out of retirement, and even accepted new disciples, Orochimaru realised that he no longer needs to stick to using just people outside of Land of Fire as experimental subjects.
"What do you want to ask?"
Orochimaru didn't look back, and asked Itachi, who has been staring at him.
"What is the meaning of life?"
"Nothing."
'What an interesting kid.'
Orochimaru turned back and left the graveyard, glancing at the five year old Uchiha.
He then shook his head. Shisui Uchiha is currently more interesting to him. He will see for himself what is so special about Shisui that Hiruzen took him as a disciple, despite driving away the Uchihas to the outskirts of the village.
-----------------------
Jiraiya looked at the scroll that a toad delivered from Konoha.
"Old man wants me to bring along Shisui Uchiha to convince Tsunade huh?"
Jiraiya has been away from the village for quite a while, traveling the world. As a toad aummoner, he ofcourse knew that Minato and Kushina have died, leaving behind their child, 'Naruto'.
He expected that Minato, who has already surpassed him long ago, and Hiruzen-sensei will be able to deal with Kushina's pregnancy.
But, if he had been in the village, perhaps the outcome would have been different.
Yet, due to his guilt, he couldn't possibly face Naruto. Well, this mission gave him an excuse.
He looked at Gama-chan, the wallet he wanted to gift Naruto.
'I guess I will deliver it to him.'
Jiraiya got up, and headed towards Land of Fire. But his pace was really slow, as if he didn't want to return to Konoha.

Fugaku sighed as he looked at the location where the Uchiha clan will relocate. The Uchiha clan didn't think that Hiruzen taking Shisui as a disciple was a big deal. Instead, after Kagami, a talented Uchiha should have been the Hokage's direct disciple.
Fugaku just hoped that Shisui will act as a bridge between the Uchiha clan and the village, and become the first Uchiha Hokage in the future.
Shisui certainly is more mature than the other Uchihas.
"Clan Head. Can we open a cat cafe near the entrance of the Uchiha compound? It will help improve our image too."
Shisui, who was sitting near him watching the lake, with cats all over him, asked Fugaku, and he nodded.
Shisui is certainly wise.
"When are you leaving for the mission?"
"When Jiraiya-sama arrives I will go with him."
Fugaku sighed in relief. With Jiraiya present, Danzo won't be able to pull anything against Shisui.
"Clan Head, please don't push Itachi too much. I once saw him jump from a cliff with his eyes closed, before I sent my crows to wake him up."
This shocked Fugaku.
"WHAT!?"
"Yeah. Take help from a Yamanaka. He doesn't seem right in the head. I hope Tsunade-sama will return and be able to help him."
Shisui believed that Itachi pushing himself too hard, especially using the Fireball jutsu at such a young age might have lead to his lung illness.
Seeing Itachi returning, Shisui flickered away. Afterall, he just snitched on him.
Fugaku ignored Shisui running away, and looked at Itachi.
"From where are you returning?"
"Graveyard."
