Gifted and ungifted

Before engaging in the fight Yuno and Ryuma made a plan. They both knew the longer the fight stretches the less chance they have of winning. The only thing which can assure them a victory was a well-prepared heavy attack and  Ryuma knew one which would be useful in a situation like this so he spoke to Yuno.

"If you will arrange a good position to launch an attacker then with my purple lightning I will surely paralyze sensei for a few seconds and it will be enough for him to drop the sword."

" Okay I will try but we need someone to rely on Hana, if she will deliver her fire release: ash piling burn then we surely be able to make sensei distracted enough to sneak into them", Yuno replied.

"I think I have just the right jutsu for that. If I use my shadow clone technique to relay the information to Hana and cast jutsu on Hayate sensei while my real body and you engage in close combat with him then we surely can give Hana enough opening to attack".

"Good let's try this first if it doesn't happen then we will take the fight towards the deeper parts of the training field where we set up the traps earlier and try to get the opening for you to sneak on him", Yuno relayed his whole plan to Ryuma. As Yuno moved his head up and down showing the okay signal to start the plan Hayate suddenly attacked them.

Back to the present because Ryuma struck right at the back of Hayate with his purple lightning stream but instead of him getting damaged his body just vanished with a puff showing that it was none other than a shadow clone.

A clapping sound came from the tree behind him and the three looked that way. Hayate was standing on the tree as he jumped down and he made the sign to gather.

" I am very impressed with your performance and to be honest I didn't expect you all to force me into a corner. Your teamwork, strategic planning, and trap set up were amazing and lastly, you all passed today's test " Hayate spoke to them while showing how happy he was with their performance with his smile.

Hearing that they passed Ryuma finally took a calm breath on the other hand Yuno slum to the ground after all he was the one who Parry almost most of Hayate's sword strikes with his kunai. Hana was alright because she just made sure to turn on traps and use ash-piling combustion jutsu to block Hayate's vision.

Hayate looked at his students and more importantly at Ryuma and spoke, " Well I just want to ask you something Ryuma"

"Yes, Sensei, what is it ?" Ryuma replied.

" The jutsu you used at last, can you tell what that was ?" Hayate asked the question that he had from the time he first saw Ryuma using a lightning attack of purple color.

" Ahh that attack! Actually, that's a large area damage version of my purple lightning jutsu that I invented" Ryuma replied with a pretty normal expression as it was not a big thing.

On the other hand, Hayate, Yuno, and Hana were flabbergasted by such a revelation. After all, very few people in the history of Konoha created their own jutsus at such a young age. Hayate himself only knew two people who created such jutsus. One of them was lord fourth Hokage and the other was Kakashi.

Although Ryuma admitted he created the jutsu Hayate was still not properly convinced. So he asked some more questions about the jutsu and things related to it.

"Ryuma, when did you create this jutsu ?" Hayate asked.

"A few months ago back in the academy"Ryuma replied without any pause.

.

"Did anyone help you during the process?"Hayate asked another question.

.

"No, I discovered it myself and I didn't ask for help from someone because I didn't want anyone to know how to create this" Ryuma replied with a normal face.

Hayate was still a little too unsure so he asked Ryuma about his jutsus how he got the idea, how he created it, and if he could show him his main jutsu.

.

" Actually I got the idea by reading about the mystical palm technique that medical ninjas used. However, I simply thought of changing the chakra nature of chakra flowing with the addition of two opposite chakra flows to create more friction and power." Ryuma showed Hayate by forming a hand seal of the sign of confrontation in his left hand and then forming purple lightning in his right hand.

After getting his answers Hayate has somewhat a complicated emotion at one side he was happy to have a very good genin team leader but on the other hand, he knew raising geniuses was a tiresome thing. But now he can't do anything so he decided it's better to move forward.

" Today you all passed the after-graduation exam task and from tomorrow onwards we all will be taking a mission as a 3-man jounin team.

I hope you will look at today's fight after you went home and try to assess it tomorrow before taking the mission. I am gonna listen to each of your views on it".

"Yes, Sensei" all three of them spoke in unison.

Just after that Hayate left the training field with the infamous body flicker technique and then it clicked three of them that Hayate still didn't have an introduction of himself.

Hayate entered the hall room in the Hokage office and bowed to Hiruzen. Alongside him, many other Konoha jounin and special jounin were present in the room. All of the people were here to give their reports about their teams. One by one everyone spoke there while Hayate waited for his chance. After the last person present told that his team also failed, Hayate was surprised that he was the only one whose team passed.

Hiruzen after hearing the report of everyone dismissed them except Hayate who was ordered to stay behind. After the room became less crowded with only Hiruzen, him, and shikaku Nara in the room, Hiruzen asked Hayate about his views on each one of his students.

" Lord third, I think that all three of them had good potential and they can become jounin in future if they survive. The best thing about the three of them was their teamwork which mostly shines between Yuno and Ryuma but Hana was able to cope. With Yuno as a sensor ninja in his team, they can very much become a scouting team in the future.

Talking about three of them separately...

Starting from yuno, he was a good sensor and his taijutsu was already chunin level which shows his talent in it. He is also good at leading a team and making plans, setting traps, and other support things. His weakness is ninjutsu and I think his low chakra in comparison to his teammates was the reason for it. He had below-average chakra so that's his main drawback.

Hana on the other hand is a powerful kunoichi and shows good signs of development. Her chakra level is quite good and she had a pretty good hold on her ninjutsu. She needed to work on her teamwork more because due to her personality, she usually works alone. Her taijutsu needs improvement and it would be good if she learns one support task too like her other teammates.

Lastly about Ryuma, I think he has the most potential among the three. He had the widest range of jutsu in his sleeves and is already learning intermediate-level medical ninjutsu and fuinjutsu. He also has very good chakra control alongside his huge chakra pool which at his age only a few people in the village can compare. His weakness lies in his situation because he was self-taught. He had the weakest taijutsu skills among the three but he covered it with his abnormal physical power. Right now he is rough around the corners but I think after sharpening he would be the one to shine the most….

And he also developed his ninjutsu technique at age 12".

"What?" Hiruzen thought he heard something wrong at the end.

.

"He developed his own jutsu at the age of 12" Hayate replied one more time so that Hiruzen could clearly listen to it.

Hiruzen on the other hand was in deep thought after hearing Hayate's report. He knew this team was gonna pass surely after all he hand-picked them. He knew about all students on the team too, including their potential. But he didn't know Ryuma was this much talented. 

A normal child couldn't develop a technique by themselves and the scenario where Hayate was lying to him was also not possible which clearly suggests that Konoha got another one of the gems.

Hiruzen with a warm smile on his face said, "It's a very good thing we got another talented shinobi….. can you tell me about his new jutsu that he invented?"

" Sir, the jutsu Ryuma invented was similar to the Chidori that Hatake Kakashi invented but both are also very different. It should be best if you take a look at it" Hayate replied.

.

" Ummm… it piqued my interest too; Hokage-sama. Can I also take a look at it ?" A white-haired man with his face covered with a mask showing only his right eye entered the hall.

. 

Hiruzen looked at Kakashi and sighed internally. He knew why he came late today too but he didn't want to ask the same question to him. He didn't want any other prodigies to end up like Kakashi due to his incompetence.

" Yes, you can go with me tomorrow to see the jutsu that the child invented. Putting that aside, where is your report? Furthermore, try not to be late next time" Hiruzen asked Takashi with a tired voice implying how much of a lost case Kakashi was. Even though it wasn't a good thing, it was also not a bad thing for Konoha. Hiruzen wanted Kakashi to overcome his problems by himself now.

"They failed the test, Hokage-sama. And yeah, I will try not to be late next time," Kakashi replied.

Hiruzen sighed one more time but this time it was heard by everyone in the room.

Yuno fell on his bed and got immersed in his thoughts. He for a very long time thought himself to be more talented than others but it all got shattered as he grew up. As he saw his childhood friend and other people gaining strength he came to understand that he was quite average in all aspects and the thing he lacked most was chakra.

He was told in the academy many times that as you grew up your chakra pool also grew alongside and after a certain time later it stopped growing. Since he had sensing ability which was quite rare to have Ryuma knew in comparison to others his chakra pool was smaller thus he decided to increase his strength in taijutsu.

As time passed his chakra pool grew large but it was nowhere near enough to become a ninja who uses diverse ninjutsu. His parents also didn't have much chakra as an adult; they only became special jounin and an apple never fell far from the tree.

To be honest he was jealous of his friends who have high chakra pools which very much include his childhood friend Ryuma. But one thing that he learned all this time was that no one got everything and they have to somehow fill those gaps that they have with other things. 

He decided to work a lot harder than what he was already doing after all Ryuma was closing the distance insanely fast and he would never allow himself to be left behind…..Until or unless he gives his all.

Getting up from the bed Yuno changed his clothes, combed his hair, and informed his parents that he was going to have a sleepover at Ryuma's house....
