Akatskui attack!
It had been a few days and the ghost had still not returned, Naruto was worried he didn't know what had happened to them. He could only wait a few more days, if they still showed no sign by then he could only assume they were gone. If they were gone he would definitely be sad but he wouldn't let that stop him from his goal to become the Hokage.
Speaking of Hokage, today was the Third Hokage's funeral. Naruto made some breakfast then put on his black clothes for the funeral. When he stepped outside the clouds turned dark and it started to rain. Naruto then met up with the rest of team 7 and headed to the funeral.
Once arriving at the funeral there were many graves for the people who had been lost in the attack. I think everyone in the village was sad that day, most of the genin, academy students, and civilians all cried, the jonin did their best to hold it in.
The one who was crying the most was Konohamaru. Naruto looked at the kid, he knew he was the gramps grandkid, that must be rough. "We are gathered here to remember and honor not only the Third Hokage but all those who sacrificed themselves in this battle so that our village would survive," said the elders.
Everyone walked up to his grave and placed a white rose on it, "Why did it have to happen? Why did he have to die? Why?" said Konohamaru barely whimpering it out. After the funeral, Kakashi stayed longer to pay respects to Obito.
Soon after the sun began to come out again, on the roof there were two men standing on the top of the walls, they were wearing dark robes with a red flower pattern. "Well, it survived. But barely. The damage is pretty bad." said the fish-like man.
"Not long ago, it was at the height of its glory. Look at it now." the Fishman laughed, "Sounds like you're almost sad. Don't tell me you still have feelings for your old home?" the other man laughed, "No, none." His Sharingan could be seen at that moment.
It had been a few days since the funeral and the council had started a meeting about who would take up the Hokage position. Danzo was of course the first man to raise his hand, "I will take over as the 5th Hokage. I have knowledge of the village and how the third ran things, I think I would be the best choice."
Everyone nodded almost agreeing until Jiraiya spoke, "I had already promised sensei that after he died I would take up the position as the 5th Hokage. I also have knowledge of the village and how the third ran things, he was my sensei, after all, I think I would be the best choice to take up the throne."
The elders and everyone else, except Danzo, were happy to hear this. They had been trying to get Jiraiya to become Hokage ever since Minato died. "Well, that's great! I believe everyone here will agree that you should become Hokage!"
After voting it was a unanimous decision, Danzo was the only one who didn't agree but it's not like he could vote since he was applying. It didn't take long for them to agree on it. "I want to pick another supervisor."
The elders were surprised, they had no problems with it, just surprised. "And who will that be?" "Tsunade." they all coughed, "Jiraiya, she has been away from the village for years." "I can bring her back." Danzo laughed, "Just like you brought back Orochimaru."
"Danzo, you don't want to cross that line, trust me," said Jiraiya with a deep voice. They soon ended the conference with Jiraiya becoming the 5th Hokage. Jiraiya then went out to look for Naruto.
He soon saw Naruto eating ramen looking sad, he thought it was because of Hiruzen's death but it was actually about the ghosts. It had been a few days and Naruto now knew they were most likely gone for good.
Jiraiya then patted him on the shoulder, "I know it's hard." Jiraiya then ordered some Ramen, "I do have some good news." Naruto slowly ate his ramen, "And what could that be?" Jiraiya then received his bowl of Ramen, "Well you see, I'm the fifth Hokage."
At the entrance to the leaf village, the two men with the strange black and red outfits were walking. 'Uh, excuse me?" Itachi didn't bother with him and instantly put him under a genjutsu, knocking him out. They then walked in with no problems.
Over at the Dango shop both of the men were sitting behind Kakashi, Asuma and Kurenai walked up to Kakashi. "Hey guys, you two seem to be getting along," said Kakashi. Kurenai blushed, "Idiot, Anko just asked me to pick up some rice dumplings for her," retorted Kurenai.
"So, what are you doing here Kakashi, except catching up on your reading?" Kakashi smiled, "I need to buy something to put on a grave. Plus I am meeting somebody here. I'm just waiting on Sasuke." one of the people in the back acted weirdly hearing Sasuke's name.
Of course, all of the jonin saw both of the people in the red cloaks. Soon Sasuke walked up to Kakashi, "Kakashi. It's not like you to show up early. What's the occasion?" "I don't usually but sometimes," Sasuke nodded, "Let's eat somewhere else, I don't have much of a sweet tooth."
Asuma and Kurenai then left and followed the other two strange men. Sasuke could tell something was wrong but didn't ask. After walking for awhile Asuma and Kurenai stood in front of the other two.
"You guys aren't from around here, are you? What are you doing in this village." said Asuma, "It's been a long time Asuma, Kurenai." "Considering you know our names that must mean you are a shinobi formerly of this village."
One of the men took off their hat revealing his Sharingan, "You're, Itachi Uchiha!" said both Asuma and Kurenai at the same time. "Are there friends of yours, Itachi? Well, I guess I should introduce myself, my name is Kisame Hoshigaki."
"Let's just have this out right now, I'll make sure not to kill you too fast," said Asuma ready to fight. Kurenainodded, "You are both very well-known S-class shinobi, what a good catch." Asuma was mad, "Showing your face in this village after what you did takes some real balls!"
"I am warning you two, you don't want to fight me. My desire is not to kill you," said Itachi. "You're getting on my nerves, Itachi, can I kill him?" "Well, it seems we're not getting anywhere without a fight. Just try not to overdo it, you tend to stand out."
Kisame swung his sword at Asuma who dodged and then blocked the next attack with his chakra blades. Asuma couldn't compete with Kisame's unreal strength and eventually got a huge cut on his arm.
"It doesn't slice, it cuts you to ribbons!" Kurenai then launched a genjutsu on Itachi trying to slow them down. Suddenly a tree sprouted from the ground and wrapped itself around Itachi holding him there. Kurenai then came out of the tree attempting to stab Itachi but when she did she found herself in the tree instead of Itachi!
"Genjutsu of that level does not work on me," said Itachi. "A genjutsu reflection?" Kurenai was shocked, just how strong was Itachi! Kurenai bit herself to break her out of her own genjutsu, barely dodging Itachi's attack.
Itachi then kicked Kurenai onto the water, "Kurenai!" yelled Asuma, "I wouldn't be looking there if I were you," said Kisame who attacked again. "You live up to your reputation, however-" before he could continue Kakashi's voice interrupted, "However, this is the end of the line."
Asuma finally got a hit in but Kisame counter-attacked, "Water style, water shock bomb jutsu!" The water created a funnel and attacked Asuma but was stopped by the same jutsu used by Kakashi. "So it's you Kakashi," said Itachi.
