Unknown Danger

Haku easily went inside the city walls, he had collected his identification from his old home and for that reason, the guards let him in after a bit of identification.

Haku realized that he as of now had a tight finance of only 3200 ryo. He needed to find an income source for a while until a group of merchants passed through the city towards the other villages and cities he planned to pass through.

Also, as the weather here although still cold, didn't have constant snowfall! He could practice Walter walking in nearby lakes and ponds. He felt that it would be better and safer to do it in ponds than in the sea after he had reached there.

Anyways, first of all, he had to find a cheap place to stay for a few days and get information about any cavern going to the shores of the main island.

He walked around the city, searching for a cheap-looking inn, when he saw a butcher shop. Instantly an income-generating idea came to His mind!

Hunting animals!

It can help generate income and train him too maybe if he gains enough money to buy a tent he probably wouldn't need to wait for the merchant cavern!

He quickly walked over to the butcher shop and shouted. " Butcher sir! Ma'am!" 

The male who had brown hair and brown eyes with muscular arms looked outside seeing no one. His wife was picking out rabbits and deskinning them!

"Huh? Who is it?" He walked forward to the counter made of wood.

"Below you sir. Look below!" He leaned his head down to see a cute child with a bit above shoulder-length hair. The child had slightly dirty but quite thick black clothes and if own looked closely one could even see a chainmail beneath His thick clothes.

He guessed that the child was a boy."

"Oh boy? What do you need? Which animal's meat and how many kilos."

"I am not here to buy sir! I am here to sell. I was wondering if you would buy animal meat from me!" The man painfully held back His laugh at the comical display of the child extending a business deal.

"Oh? You are? Who do you work for boy? Ask them to come meet me and not send an errand boy next time!"

As the man was about to turn back the boy replied. 

"I don't work for anyone, sir! I am looking to earn money as my parents died as a bystander in a fight between ninjas!" Haku used an old trick in the book, hoping it would work because of his age.

And surprisingly it did, the man looked conflicted and said "Is that so? Alright then let me call my wife too…. Honey! Come here for a second."

"Why did you call me dear?" A normal-looking middle-aged woman with slightly muscular arms arrived.

"And who is that child?" She looked at Haku.

"Well, you see…" The man went on to repeat what Haku said to him.

"I see…" The woman put on a thoughtful expression. "Alright child, you can bring whatever you hunt here. If the corpses are in good condition then our butchery will buy them and if not then we will sell them to an inn on our contract but for a bit cheaper."

"Alright man! Let's do it! Deal." Haku tried to put on his professional business smile… he tried.

"Also, ma'am do you know any inn that is really cheap to stay at? Please refer me to them!"

The woman put her hand to her chin and muttered " I do know a few… Ah! I remember! There is an inn called the 'Kraken Inn' located about 8 blocks away from here. They charge about 300 ryo for a night stay without a meal." the women pointed at a direction.

"Thank you, ma'am." Haku slightly bowed, he knew when to be arrogant and when to be humble.

Just as he was about to turn away—" Also, if you can't hunt anything by sunset then come here." 

"Ok." Haku finally walked away.

While walking Haku could see the bustling market of this city, although the land of water kept itself away from affairs of the world it still had a decent economy compared to others.

He could see the people buying items, some rich guy was even buying slaves and he even saw four Shinobi jumping from one roof to another.

'Shinobu huh? Where are they going just when the sun has set? Are they here on a mission?' Haku once again was forced to remember the genin he killed.

'Is that genin from their team?... I need to be careful from now on.' Haku hurried his steps as he finally found the inn.

But unknown to Haku, he had already been noticed.

Just a few moments ago, the team of genins got the news.

"Leader, they have found another base." A black-haired genin who looked to be 13 said to an auburn-haired genin.

"Looked like this mission might finish faster than expected. You should train your sensing skills more Tazuma, we would have finished this mission faster." The genin's voice although authoritative was gentle.

" Anyways, what are the other two doing…" The genin walked to another room and shouted again, looking at the sleeping rowdy genin and another genin playing with kunai.

"Oi, you two! It's time to get up! We got some hunting to do!"

The rowdy genin jerked up from his sleep, shocked, and shouted," Baki! Don't shout like that! I thought an enemy attacked me!"

The auburn-haired genin—Baki— narrowed his eyes, "A Shinobi should be alert even in his sleep, Daichi."

"Huh… Not if I beat the enemy's ass!"

After that, the genin quickly assembled and started scaling the city while jumping from one roof to another.

After passing an inconspicuous street, the sensor—Tazuma— approached Baki.

"Baki, I sensed a kid with high genin-level chakra just now. I remembered where he was walking, he had slightly longer than shoulder-length black hair, I couldn't see his eyes, and he looked to be about 5 years old."

Baki looked at Tazuma, making sure the rowdy guy didn't hear them, and said " What do you think? Do you think he is one of them?"

"He might be. 50-50!"

"Alright, we will have a chat with him after we return tomorrow. Tell Shun about that kid too. Also, make sure Daichi doesn't hear about the kid."

"Roger that!"

With that, the team quickly made their way to a bandit camp in the forest.
