Chapter-1

Friday, December, Year 84.

Uzumaki Mansion, Konoha, Fire Nation.

In a dimly lit room, a young man lay on the bed. His body was shivering uncontrollably, and soon tears started pouring out of his closed eyes.

"Noo!" a dry scream escaped his lips as he shot up,sitting up on his bed, panting heavily.

"Naruto…"

The moment he heard her call, his mind went blank and his trembling eyes turned to look at her face and a new wave of hot tears flooded out of them.

Hinata was taken back when she saw her husband crying in the middle of the night. She thought it was a bad dream and hugged him.

"What happened?" She gently whispered while rubbing his back slowly. His panting slowly reduced as he hugged her back and his body trembled slightly.

"It's- It's nothing. Just a bad dream" He spoke lightly. "What time is it?"

"3:30 am"

Naruto nodded and took a deep breath "Go back to your sleep"

"What about you?" Hinata asked when Naruto got up from his bed.

Seeing Hinata's concerned look Naruto's eyes got teary but he turned back, using the darkness to hide his state, "I don't feel like sleeping anymore, so I'll just look around"

"Then let me co-." Hinata tried to speak and was cut by Naruto, who kissed her all of a sudden.

Not expecting the sudden kiss, Hinata immediately blushed and coughed.

"Chough"

Being embarrassed by her behaviour she just looked down and whispered, "S-sorry"

"Hahaha I-It's fine" There was a slight choke on Naruto's voice but Hinata didn't seem to notice it in her emotions.

"B-"

"Shushh!" Naruto placed his finger on her lips and motioned her to be quiet. "Just sleep"

Hinata who was too embarrassed to speak just nodded and lay on the bed while Naruto covered her up in the blanket.

He kissed her on her cheek and whispered, "Thanks" before leaving their bedroom.

Leaving her almost fully red but a chuckle escaped off her mouth, "Hehe"

Naruto stood at the balcony of his house, looking at the stars in the sky.

There are two sets of memories in his mind right now, belonging to two different lives, one of them belonging to a parallel world similar to this world but just more advanced.

In that world he was born to a rich family, loving parents, many friends and the most important, a loving girlfriend. He remembers it clearly, looking at her bloodied figure in the hospital bed, helplessly seeing her take her last breath. His name was the same in that world too, and his girlfriend's name was, Hinata Hyuga , the same.

He committed suicide after killing the drunker driver who killed his love and the moment the 'him' in that world closed his eyes the 'him' in this world opened. It was as if they both were connected.

"What's happening to me, Kurama?" He decided to ask the oldest person he knew.

Suddenly he was pulled into his spiritual world by Kurama.

"Hell if I knew Kid" The fox , sitting upright while folding his arms, said, "But it's something similar to reincarnation. You awakened a memory of one of your previous life's memories"

"But wasn't I the reincarnation of Asura?" Naruto asked. He and Sasuke are the reincarnation of the sons of The sage of six paths.

"Maybe it has something to do with that," Kurama pointed towards something behind Naruto.

Naruto turned back to see what Kurama was pointing at. There was a small vial which was floating in the air.

"Anyway don't go near it. It may be dangerous. It appeared the moment you awoke today" Kurama said to Naruto.

But Naruto didn't know what came over him, His spiritual body moved on its own towards the vial and immediately opened it to drink its content.

"You Moron! What did you do!?" Kurama shouted after hearing the mysterious voice which sounded totally emotionless.

"I don't know! I- My body moved on its own" Naruto shouted back.

"You are in your spiritual world! You have no body here!" Kurama showed his wisdom.

"I mean-" Naruto's reply was cut short as a black panel emerged in between him and Kurama.

They both waited for the black panel to do something but it just remained there.

"Ummm What's that?" Naruto asked.

"Figure it yourself" Kurama who was getting surprised many times a day just huffed and lay down while still keeping an eye on Naruto to ensure his safety.

Naruto tried touching the panel but his hand just went through it.

"What are you?" He asked hoping to get any reaction and his plan worked.

[Answer: I am Assimilation Essence's assistive intelligence]

"Um, could you explain further?" Naruto had no idea what's going on. His head was a mess and his brain subconsciously started to suppress the new memories to ensure its survival, hence making him a little dumber for the time being.

[Answer: I am the assistant who is created to assist you in your challenges]

Seeing that the answer made no difference Naruto decided to take another approach.

"What can you do?" Naruto asked while sitting down.

[Answer: I can assist you in your endeavours]

"I mean, what can this assimilation do?" Naruto corrected, being slightly annoyed by the assistant.

[Answer: Assimilation Essence gives its host the ability to assimilate with anything the host wishes for. Yours is a little modified for reasons]

"What reasons?" Nartuo felt the 'reasons' could maybe give him the answers he is seeking for.

[Answer: It is unknown]

Naruto sighed after hearing the answer. He felt a headache coming, The mysterious essence, him awakening the memories of his past life though he can't recall it now. It all felt like a dream where you know it happened but can't remember what happened.

'Is it related to the Otsutsuki? I should ask Sasuke about it later?'

"Tell me about all your capabilities… 'System'?" Naruto asked about the now-named system. He named it so since the new games which are popular with the kids nowadays have stuff like this.

"Yeah," Naruto nodded.

"Hmmm… I see" He doesn't understand at all about the essence part.

"Hey Kurama, do you know about this essence?" Naruto asked Kurama, Kurama who was listening to the conversation with his full concentration while acting like he didn't care replied, "Ask it yourself"

"Fine" Naruto looked at the blank black transparent screen.

"What's this essence system?"

[Answer: Essence is an ability given to chosen souls during their reincarnation. In your case, your soul wasn't chosen but given the essence on a condition]

"What condition?" Naruto asked, Both his and Kurama's mind was already shocked more than once today so they had become somewhat numb to this shocking info which could have blown the mind of a normal person.

Naruto sighed, accepting the fact that something was happening and he might be a pawn for someone. Currently, he is happy with his life and would fight anyone to maintain it as such, for him his previous life was just a few minutes ago.

"So what is this assimilation?" He asked wanting to know more about this essence.

[Answer: The Assimilation essence gives the host the ability to assimilate to anything the host wishes for, but yours is modified by the person who gave you the essence. You can assimilate to anything which is available to you and choose what to assimilate with, you have the ability to avoid certain characteristics while assimilating. Both Naruto and Kurama were shocked by the revelation, if what it said was true then the severity of this situation goes up very much.

"A-anyone? Really?" Naruto asked.

"Hey, will something happen to Kurama during an Assimilation?" He asked the system absentmindedly, still thinking about the possible problems it would create.

"Then make it so that he won't get affected" He ordered the system immediately.

"Good…" Naruto sighed, he needed to see what this was like to make sure Kurama would be safe.

"Naruto, ask the available targets to assimilate with" Kurama no longer was lying down relaxed, his eyes were serious as he sat upright.

Seeing the list both Naruto and Kurama were left in a confusion, the nicknames just made it harder for them to figure out.

"Hey system can you give more info?" Naruto asked the system as he was having a hard time choosing.

-Hinata-

Umm, the sun is bright today.

I slowly rubbed my eyes, while getting up from my sleep.

"Ahhh" I stretched my arms as I yawned trying to fix my hair which was all over my face.

Hmm, where's Naruto?

I looked around my bedroom to find Naruto but he wasn't there.

Where did he go? Did he go out? Did he even sleep after that?

I looked around the first floor but he was not there.

He must have gone out somewhere.

After thinking that he probably went out somewhere I went to the bathroom to take a bath.

After taking a bath I came down the stairs after dressing up. I have to say being a housewife is nice. I don't have to constantly go out for missions and risk my life. Though I'm a little worried about Naruto, I know it's his dream to become the Hokage, and to achieve it he has to continue being a shinobi, But I am always scared something will happen to him though he is probably the strongest shinobi alive.

I wonder what dream he had that scared him like that this morning?

I should take him out to Ichiraku today, he will be happy and I will have my weekly date. Huhu I have become cunning after getting married.

Suddenly a wave of nice smell engulfed my senses as I entered the Kitchen and saw a sight I never expected to see.

Naruto wearing a green apron was making breakfast. The table was set and he was flipping the omelette in the pan.

"Oh morning Hinata!" He said placing the pan back after putting the omelet on a plate nearby.

"Morning Naruto!" I replied, Though he rarely cooks as he wakes up very late his food is good. The sight of him in an apron cooking while smiling at me makes me fall in love with him all over again.

He suddenly pulled me into a hug, his strong arms holding my waist gently as he rested his head over my shoulder. I smiled and hugged him back while asking, "What's gotten to you?"

He's been acting a little weird since this morning when he woke up.

"I'll tell you after breakfast." He whispered into my ear. Oh no, something is wrong.

But before I could insist on him answering he pulled back from the hug and showed me his cooking,

"Look, I made breakfast today!" He showed his cooking with a proud look on his face. Though all he did was make toast and omelet, I appreciate it nonetheless so I should reward him right?

"It looks nice"

"Come let's eat"

After eating our breakfast, I decided to ask what was bothering him. He may hide it well but I know my husband when he hides something.

He looked a little reluctant to speak so I held his hand and squeezed, "Just tell, you are making me scared."

"It's nothing bad, it's just you may find it crazy," Naruto awkwardly said.

"I'll believe you" He should trust me more.

"You see it all started when I had a dream ….. and now I am left with the choice to pick any target to assimilate from the 10 choices."

After hearing the full story I was left speechless.

It is crazy.

"Are you fine?..." I touched his forehead to check if he had some fever. Should I take him to Sakura to be checked?

But I didn't give that much thought after seeing his look which screamed, 'I Told You So'.

I immediately got slightly flushed. Even after becoming his wife, I'm still shy sometimes.

-3rd Person's POV-

"I know you find it hard to believe so I'll show you myself" Naruto held Hinata's hand and immediately brought her to his Spiritual world.

"Hello Kurama-san" Hinata greeted Kurama who was lying on the floor as usual. She slightly hid herself behind Naruto since she was still a little nervous in front of Kurama.

"Hmph" Kurama just opened one of his eyes to look at her and grunted.

"Don't mind him, he is just a Tsunderee" Naruto said to Hinata who felt a little hurt by Kurama's attitude.

"No, it's ok… He's like Sasuke" Hinata said back.

"Hahaha he is!!"

"NO, I'm NOT"

"Do you know he thought he was the incarnation of hate once when he was young"

"No I didn't!"

"The other beasts told me so when we connect to talk about our lives," Naruto told her, Him and Kurama meet with the other beasts through their connection occasionally to check if they are fine and if nobody is plotting something with them.

"Why is she here, Naruto?" Kurama asked him, Since Naruto got married he refrained from watching things through Naruto's eyes as he felt Naruto should have some privacy.

"I wanted to show her the System," Naruto said.

"Fine… I don't care much but keep this info as secretive as possible till we figure out what's the cost of this power." No matter how much he denies he's a Tsunderee.

"I never planned to tell anyone about this other than Hinata and maybe Kakashi-sensei or Sasuke" Since the war, Naruto has been in a lot of high-ranked missions and knows a lot about human nature so he is certain if this news goes out there will be many problems.

Naruto brought Hinata to the black translucent panel which showed the same screen as when he left to make breakfast.

"So it's real.." Hinata said as she tried to touch the panel but her hand went right through it.

"What are you planning to choose?" Hinata asked turning back to see Naruto who was looking at the panel with a hard expression.

"System said that only the basic info of the targets I chose will be shown so It's essentially a gamble"

"Will you be alright?" Hinata asked with concern.

"Of course I will be! Who do you think I am? You are looking at the 7th Hokage" Naruto boasted loudly, making Hinata chuckle.

"Of course you'll be," Hinata said but her voice dropped at the end. She came near him and leaned on his chest.

"But I can't help but be scared. I want you to just stay at home with me… Am I selfish?" She whispered to him, her voice almost like a whisper, like she was scared.

Naruto smiled at her concern for him. For someone who lacked love during most of his childhood, it felt like he achieved something unreal. It made him feel fulfilled in this life. If he was ever in a position to choose Hinata or Being the Hokage, he'd choose Hinata without hesitation, his dream could go fuck off.

He hugged her gently, his hands wrapping around her slim waist, he brought her even closer, his height of 180cm dwarfing her 160cm build easily.

"You are my wife Hinata." He whispered to her ear gently.

"You have all the right to be angry, sad, or selfish of me" He kissed her forehead.

"You are the only woman who has my permission to do that" He cupped her face, raising it to make her look at his eyes.

"Naruto…"

"Hinata…"

Amidst the towering stacks of files, worth hours of work, Kakashi Hatake, The Sixth Hokage was secretly reading his favourite book series, 'Icha Icha' for the 439th time. A testament to his dedication. The author of the book, Jiraiya died, Leaving the legendary series on Hiatus making countless men cry alone at night.

"Yo, Sensei!"

Kakashi, who was too concentrated on his book, fumbled slightly, being surprised by Naruto who sat at the window. Doing his iconic pose.

"Hi there Naruto, I was wondering why are you late" Kakashi hid his book in his desk's drawer at a speed that made it leave after image, Showing his proficiency and the amount of times he did it.

"I saw how you were 'wondering' and I'm just the boss's clone, he told me to inform you that he won't be coming to work today." Naruto's clone replied.

"*Sigh* the days I was like that… I can't wait for Naruto to experience my pain" Kakashi sighed but his eyes gained a crazy look at the end of his sentence.

"I'm right here you moron, But before I leave I have a doubt... No most of us had" Naruto's clone said.

"Shoot"

"Why don't you use shadow clones to do your work faster" After saying that Naruto's clone undid itself.

"....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!"

That day Kakashi almost awakened a mangekyo again.
