Fujihara Mountain Mine is one of the three major mines owned by our clan. The iron ore produced here is of superior quality, essential for crafting ninja tools for the clan, with the surplus being exported to various daimyo and generals. It represents a significant source of revenue for the clan.

But about half a month ago, five groups of bandits suddenly appeared. They began disrupting the mine's operations, robbing shipments of ore destined for the clan, and causing serious losses. Transportation has essentially come to a halt. If this continues for another month, the clan's financial losses could exceed a million ryo."

Uchiha Masa pointed at the mine map on the table, explaining the situation to Uchiha Gen. He marked several routes on the map, which were the main roads used for transporting the ore, now cut off by the bandits.

Gen stared at the map, pondering for a moment before asking, "Have you engaged with them before? Normally, you being clan shinobi, even if you're just Genin, should have no trouble dealing with bandits. How did they manage to block the trade routes? Do they have shinobi among them?"

Uchiha Masa gave a bitter smile. "Yes, I fought against one of the groups. They had two Chūnin-level shinobi among them, and I wasn't their match, so I had to retreat and request reinforcements from the clan. Other groups also showed signs of shinobi involvement, but we couldn't determine their exact levels."

Gen quietly analyzed the map and the information he had received, a strange feeling of unease brewing in his mind.

Bang!

A rough hand slapped the map in front of him, accompanied by the smell of alcohol. A man with a gruff face leaned in close. Gen frowned in displeasure. He recognized the man—one of the five Genin stationed here, named Uchiha Kuang.

"Kid, stop pretending to think so hard. I don't know why the clan sent a brat like you here, but this isn't the place for you. You'd better go back home and drink your milk. Let the clan send real shinobi instead!"

Gen, annoyed by the interruption and the man's rudeness, grew visibly colder. His sharp gaze shifted to Kuang.

"Haha, everyone, come look at this! This kid's glare is terrifying! Like a little tiger baring its teeth. No, wait—more like an angry little kitten...a little flower cat! Hahaha!"

The other Genin joined in the laughter, their mocking tones unmistakable.

Because the Fujihara Mine was so close to the clan's main territory, it was effectively under constant clan control. The shinobi stationed there were largely overlooked by the clan and had little to do beyond overseeing the miners. Over time, this neglect bred resentment. Seeing a child sent as reinforcement exacerbated their frustration, leading to this scene.

Uchiha Masa looked embarrassed. While he was also displeased with the clan for sending only a child, he felt this level of ridicule was unnecessary. If handled calmly, the child could simply be persuaded to leave and request someone more suitable.

"Little flower cat?"

Gen muttered, a faint, icy smile forming as he stood up slowly.

"Oh, what are you gonna do, little kitty? Think you're going to start a fight? Your expression is on point, but let me teach you something, kid. In this world, it's all about strength—"

Bang!

Before he could finish his sentence, a tremendous force struck him, sending him flying into the wall. With a loud crash, the impact cracked the wall, and Uchiha Kuang slumped unconscious to the ground. The speed of it all left everyone stunned, unable to even see how Gen had moved.

"Well? Aren't you going to laugh? Keep laughing!"

Gen turned his head, his piercing gaze sweeping across the other Genin. His crimson Sharingan had emerged, the three tomoe spinning ominously.

"G-g-g..." The laughter from the remaining Genin froze, their expressions twisted into grotesque shapes as they choked on their words, unable to process what had just happened.

"T-three tomoe!" Uchiha Masa gasped, stumbling backward in shock. "Impossible... Three tomoe... How could a child possess the fully matured Sharingan?"

The other four Genin were equally dumbfounded, their minds struggling to comprehend what they were seeing. The three-tomoe Sharingan was a level of power usually reserved for senior clan members. How could it appear in a child?

Gen sat back down, his Sharingan fading back to normal. Calmly, he said, "Now, continue explaining the situation with these bandits."

Uchiha Masa, trembling slightly, hurried over to Gen's side, his demeanor now entirely respectful. He began to provide a more detailed report on the bandits' movements and activities. Whatever doubts he had about the child were silenced by the power Gen had just displayed.

Gen listened in silence, only speaking once Masa had finished. He tapped the table rhythmically with his fingers before declaring, "Something's not right."

Masa blinked in confusion. "What do you mean?"

"This whole situation feels suspicious," Gen said with a hint of irritation. "What exactly are these bandits after?"

Masa forced a smile, thinking to himself that no matter how talented Gen was, he was still just a child. "The answer is obvious. This is a mine, and the ore here is highly valuable. Naturally, they're after the ore."

Gen gave him a curious look. "And what would they do with the ore?"

Masa hesitated, wondering why Gen would ask such an obvious question. "Well, they'd use it to forge weapons, of course. Wait... Forge weapons?" Masa's eyes widened as realization dawned. He stared at Gen in astonishment.

Seeing that Masa had caught on, Gen continued, "Exactly. While ore is indeed an important resource, it isn't directly useful. It's not even pure iron. The iron mined here requires professional smelting to remove impurities, and turning it into weapons requires even more specialized techniques. These bandits don't have such capabilities. For them, the ore is little more than useless rocks. So tell me, would anyone go to such lengths just to steal useless rocks?"

Masa could only shake his head dumbly, completely overwhelmed by the boy's logic.

Gen pressed on, "And consider this: This mine is an Uchiha asset, located so close to the clan's territory that a Jōnin could reach it in less than a day. Yet these bandits dare to rob and block trade routes here? That's not just greed—it's practically suicide. What kind of bandits are this stupid? Don't you agree?"

Masa, now fully convinced, could only nod silently, staring at Gen as if he were a genius—or a demon.
