Chapter 121

Title: War Across Dimensions 2

Accompanying the bright light from the Activation of the Infinite Tsukuyomi, the Chakra in every living thing suddenly disappeared…more like Sealed Away.

White Zetsu controlling a Gigantic Thousand Hands Buddha with the body of Yamato suddenly felt the connection between him and the Buddha being severed leading to the collapse of the gigantic Avatar.

The Shinobis who were battling the said Buddha all wore looks of astonishment not realizing that their chakra had been sealed away. Ohnoki, who was floating up in the sky, was first alarmed before he screamed. "What the hell is going on?"

First it was the bright light, then the Foe they'd been battling for hours suddenly collapsed and now his chakra wasn't even listening to him anymore.

Fortunately for him, he was able to glide down before his body could plummet due to the effects of gravity.

"It's finally started." The White Zetsu said as his mask began unraveling. "Then my job here is done."

"!?" Ohnoki and a few of the Kages, both living and Reanimated, were alarmed at his words.

"We also don't need this inferior anymore." Zetsu said as he finished unraveling himself to expose the person Within, Yamato.

In another part of the battlefield, Ay the Fourth and a group of Shinobis were also gathered when the bright light shone in the sky, what followed was an earthquake that shook even the Shinobi with the most control over his chakra.

"What's going on!?" Ay queried with his characteristic loud voice.

"Four o'clock! Meteorites!!!" Jt was unknown who said that, but everyone turned towards their four and were once again made to understand the fragility of their existence.

"Brace for impact!!"

"What the hell is going on over there? Talk about abnormal!!"

"Wait! Look closely! What are those?!" Someone noticed and pointed towards the meteorites where they could see varying flickers of lights tearing the meteorites apart.

"That's…the Susanoo." Shikamaru said. "The Uchihas are probably making a last stand. Plus, the chakra Naruto gave all of us suddenly disappeared and that giant tree also vanished abruptly."

"Something big is happening over there, that's for sure. Most likely…bad too." As he finished, another rumbling shook the ground causing him to try and balance himself.

In another battlefield

"Woof! Woof!"

"What!?" Kiba asked his dog who was looking up before also looking up. "!!"

"What is it, Kiba?" Shino asked.

"The moon, Shino! Look at the moon!"

His voice was loud enough prompting everyone around him to look up at the moon.

"Impossible…don't tell me that's…!?" Tsunade who had also arrived at the battlefield alongside his former teammates and Sensei muttered.

"My word." Hiruzen added.

Sasuke was floating up in the sky with his Winged Full Body Susanoo as he stared at the moon with horror. 'This is bad!'

And without a second thought he turned and flew down while shouting. "Everyone! Retreat!"

Naruto on the other hand, formed nine hands with his Chakra and formed Giant Rasenshurikens that whirled with enough energy to pulverize anyone who came near.

"I'm gonna pulverize all of the meteorites with these, so you're all safe. You all should stick close and stay still." He said referring to Sakura, Kakashi, Shun and the others who didn't have a Susanno or technique strong enough to contend against the meteorites.

'Gotta make sure not to hit Sasuke and the others.' With this thought, he swung his hand sending the destructive technique towards the falling meteorites.

BOOOOMMMM!

As the two bodies made contact, a resounding explosion rang out as the meteors shattered, however with an explosion of such Magnitude, the shockwave generated rippled through the battlefield, shaking the ground and sending debris flying in all directions.

Unlike the previous quakes where some Shinobis could barely maintain their balance, this one threw any and everyone too slow to protect themselves.

Naruto's Rasenshurikens tore through the meteorites with incredible force, pulverizing them into countless fragments that scattered across the sky like shooting stars.Sakura, Kakashi, Shun, and the others huddled together, protected by Naruto's immense chakra. They watched in awe as the meteorites disintegrated before their eyes.

"Sasuke! Don't head down here so suddenly! I could've hit you with a Rasenshuriken-" Naruto angrily bellowed, but before he could finish, Sasuke's towering Susanno landed, adding to another round of rumbling.

"Wah!"

"Kya!!"

"Gya!"

"Eep!"

"Hey! LAND MORE SOFTLY, WOULD YA!!"

"JUST SHUT UP AND STAY STILL!!" Sasuke shouted back.

As the two boys bantered, Madara smiled sinisterly as he looked down on the world. "NOW! BECOME ONE WITH ME!"

The bright light suddenly intensified, Shun snapped his finger and another wave of light shone countering the initial light, however no one noticed this as they continued staring at the light.

Madara however, had been placed in a minor Genjutsu that made him perceive everyone being placed under a Genjutsu, and so as not to make him question his perception of reality, Shun still allowed for the technique to siphon away the Shinobis Chakra.

So to everyone not protected by Sasuke's Susanno, their chakra was being absorbed slowly and steadily causing looks of horror to appear on their faces.

Chakra was life force, and with it being sucked away, people with less chakra were almost assured of dying, and unlike the Original where they could die peacefully in their dreams, here, they had to painfully and helplessly watch as they, their friends and close ones died in front of them.

It was harsh..True…but Shun wanted it so. This way, they would better appreciate strength and feel the drive to grow stronger…Humanity's motivation to protect was one of the biggest boons they had when it came to striving for more strength.

"Hey! What is it?" Tobirama, who watched as a few Shinobis fell to their knees in pain, asked. Some just passed out directly while some, the stronger ones, had looks of trepidation.

He was a Reanimation, so alongside his fellow Reanimated Shinobis, they didn't feel the pull from the Mugen Tsukuyomi.

"Don't tell me Madara has launched his Jutsu!"

Shun, spreading his rarely used universal senses, felt the planet's life being sucked away at visible speed. Be it Animal or Human, chakra was being sucked away, albeit a bit slower than he had expected. However, at that moment-

[Shinsei: Shinrin Hōmatsu]{Divine: Deep Forest Emergence!}

That was when all hell broke loose as branches burst out from the floor and made to ensnare everyone with chakra in order to put them to a permanent rest.

Shun squinted his eyes before casting another Genjutsu, this tjme, on the God Tree itself.

As far as something had chakra, they were susceptible to any and all form of manipulation. One only need to know how to make that happen.

Naruto seeing what was happening outside Sasuke's Susanno thought that the allied forces were actually in danger and made to leave the confines of the Susanoo.

"Don't move Naruto." Shun said, stopping Naruto in his tracks.

"Huh? But-"

"Don't move. That light is dangerous. Sasuke's Susanno is protecting us from that light…for some reason, it can't penetrate it…dont go ruining jis efforts."

"Oh."

On the outside, Black Zetsu had also made the same assumptions as he saw the branches not moving towards the enclosed Susanno.

"Exactly as Shun said." Sasuke replied. "Plus, his shadows are outside too. If the two of us are done in, it's all over. We need to bide our time."

"...I see." Naruto said after hesitating for some seconds.

'It's time I have a chat with those that matter.' Shun thought and closed his eyes for an instant, creating a parallel consciousness before opening his eyes once again, acting like nothing had happened.

"What on earth is going on? Whats with these branches? Why am I not affected by the Chakra draining?" Tobirama asked rhetorically as he observed everything going on.

Hashirama and the other Kages were also wondering the same when a voice sounded in their heads.

<You're all dead. The dead has no life force so you aren't affected.>

"What? Who's there?" Tobirama immediately went on guard.

<No need to feel alarmed. It is I…Shun. Remember? I appeared all of you in many forms.>

As Shun said that, images were immediately sent to their respective minds as memories resurfaced.

"Kuchiki-san?" Tobirama asked.

"It's you…the old master from that mountain." Hashirama replied

"The old man on drugs?" Was Anel unsurprising question.

The others also remembered Shun in one way or another.

"You…who are you truly?"

<In one word…God. In lay man's words…God.>

'Oh great, another Madara.' Tobirama thought causing Shun to chuckle.

<You should be glad that I'm not just another Madara. If I was, this world would have come to an end Centuries ago.> Saying that, Shun passed on the same videos he had shown the Six Kages to them.

<You see, I am in fact, The Six Star Sage, now, I've come to give you all a bargain…more of an opportunity actually…>

Shun then passed his own memories of the world outside this planet to them and the Calibre of people they would face as soon as the light from Madara's Jutsu subsidized.

"What..!? How is this possible?" Was the singular thoughts running through their respective minds.

<You should be glad though. The woman Madara just unsealed happens to my woman.> Shun said with obvious pride. <Unfortunately, she doesn't like this body of mine so she'll do whatever wants in the long run.>

"That's irresponsible of you, Shun…with all due respect." Tobirama said.

"Tobirama!"

"Seriously, brother. How can one's woman not listen to their husband? Even Mito knew when to-"

"Enough brother!" Hashirama cried out in embarrassment.

<No need for the banter. You forget that I was there most part of your lives, however, this person you've all met and me currently can only be described to a clone.> Shun said dropping a bomb on them

"A clone?"

<Yeah. Something akin to a clone, but living…it's long story. Anyways, my main body is currently off world.>

"Off…world? As in outside the planet?"

<Yeah…something like that. That's the reason why she doesn't appreciate this Clone…> Shun said sulkily.

"Anyways…what's the bargain?"

<Ah. Yes, the opportunity.> Shun began. <As you all are right now, you're immortal against conventional attacks, however, I believe have already realised your weakness.>

"Senjutsu."

<Exactly. Natural Energy is the boon of your current existence. And should you die currently…>

"We'll be dead permanently."

<Astute observation, Minato-nii.> Shun said. <Your hand however can be recovered if you accept my bargain.>

"Since you still call me that way, I believe you won't possibly harm me." Minato said with a chuckle.

<That, I won't.> Was Shun's reply. <The bargain is simple. I offer you the opportunity to live once more, have Flesh and Blood but…>

"But..?"

<You'll truly be immortal. Even in a century…if you wish to die, won't have that grave granted you.> came Shun's cold reply.

"Huh? How bad can that be?" Anel asked.

"Pretty bad…I think." Minato replied with a frown.

<Imagine watching Kushina grow old and die, Naruto grows old, dies, his children, the same while you remain, it all happen…> Shun said to Minato.

"And what do we have to do?"

<It's quite simple actually. Be the vanguard of planet.>

"So we'll fight against these guys that'll be coming over?"

<Yeah. >

"..."

<Take your time to think about it. In the meantime, watch my battle against their scouts. Then you'll realise how much weaker you all actually are.> Saying that, Shun dispelled his consciousness.

What remained now was for Kaguya to manhandle kids a bit before those guys outside can pin point the planet.

"What's going on outside right now, Sasuke?"

"What difference does it make to you? There's nothing you can do about it." Sasuke replied to Sakura's question causing everyone to raise an eyebrow to that.

"That's not the point, Sasuke. It's something Naruto and I want to know too. In order to strategize our next move, Sakura should-"

"Kakashi. You're no better than Sakura right now. So be quiet for a bit. I'll direct-" Sasuke said, but before he could finish.

BOOM!

A fist landed on his cheek send him flying to the walls of his Susanno. Everyone turned to the owner of the fist and was shocked to see the very person whose presence seemed turn on and off as he wished.

The person in question merely opened his fist and raised it to the direction Sasuke flew towards, in next to no time, a body flew at speed and rested in his hand.

"I believe…I taught you better?" The person asked and only then did everyone manage to catch up on what was going on.

Sasuke on the other hand had a look of confusion on his face. "Surprised?" Shun asked and the guy finally rested his gaze on Shun's. Shun was still wearing his blindfold, but due to his Rinnegan, he could comfortably see through it and was met with a chilling cold gaze staring back at him.

"Do you think you're strong now?" Shun asked.

"Shun-nii-"

"Quiet, Naruto." Shun said quietly as his gaze never left Sasuke. "... I'm…sorry."

"..." Shun looked at Sasuke for a few seconds before throwing him aside. "I liked you better before you got that eye."

After saying that, he pulled out a scroll from his sleeve before creating two clones. Pulling out the thing within the scrolls, he threw it towards the clones before making a few handsigns.

"[Edo Tensei no Jutsu.]"

The horrendous sight that came with the Reanimation technique didn't occur as most expected, however a bright light flashed on the two bodies. Moments later, the light died out and two figures stood in front of Shun.

"Indra, Ashura…It's been a while." Shun said and snapped his fingers as a portal opened up. "Come with me, we have some catching up to do."

As he walked towards the portal, he paused and looked at Sasuke and Naruto. "You two might be strong, but don't think you're actually strong."

Saying that, he walked into the portal while pulling the still discombobulated Indra and Ashura with him.

"What…was that?"

Shun's POV.

I didn't really know why Sasuke suddenly turned arrogant right there. I get he was a little bit entitled to it, but it was unnecessary to word his words like that.

Those were his family and friends, whether he liked it or not. Some Uchihas were there. Itachi was there, Izumi who had taken care of him was there, Yusano was there.

At that moment, I just felt the need to punch him for that. I mean, look at me, I'm practically invincible on this planet, do you see me acting all arrogant about it?

Sigh… I guess he's still young after all. He's entitled to it. However, Young people should not be proud because their journey towards acquiring strength is too smooth. You must know that humility makes one progress, progress makes one proud, and pride makes one lag behind.

If you fall behind, you'll be beaten and then being beaten makes you humble…it's okay to experience a little setback sometimes…Sasuke…he is not humble, so a little hit to his ego should calm him down.

So…"Indra, Ashura. Before we begin, there's something I'd like to say."

"There's something you'd like to say? Like hell! There's a lot of things I'd like to understand first!" Ashura bellowed causing Shun to smile wryly.

"Sorry for resurrecting you both so abruptly. I know you're both still bitter about the other."

"Speak for yourself Shun, I've never been bitter about anything." Indra said coldly.

"Yeah, I've never been bitter about Indra-nii." Ashura said as he crossed his hands over his chest like Indra was doing.

"Alright, if you say so. I can't ask you to forget your long-standing grudges, however, for the sake of the next generation no longer inheriting them, i must sever the roots of your resentments."

And so, Shun's talk with his brothers began. As usual, it was kept out of the sights of Hagoromo. And while this was going on, Sasuke had finally calmed down and shared with the group what he knew about the Mugen Tsukuyomi.

As he did that, Naruto also sited his own understanding of the technique and the person soon to be released. Kakashi was confused at the whole thing because of what Shun had said when Madara had cast the technique.

Apparently, Shun Welcomed this change, he welcomed this person, and yet, he ran…no, he left just before they could confront this God-like being.

This could only mean one thing. As he thought of that, he looked around and surprisingly locked eyes with a weakened Yusano. 'He must have known about this.' was the thought that ran in their two heads.

"So…it really didn't let the light through, Huh…" Zetsu said as Sasuke unfurled the wings of his Susanno.

"Looks like that black guy is unaffected." Naruto muttered as he sighted a Obito controlled Zetsu. "Sasuke, how do we wake everyone up from the Genjutsu!?"

"Rinnegan Genjutsu van be dealt with using Rinnegan…probably."

"Which means Sasuke's left eye is necessary." Itachi said as he stood beside Kakashi.

"I won't let that happen." Zetsu said with his rapsy voice. "All that's left is to get rid of you guys…"

BOOM!

"Which I shall do as the saviour of the world." Madara said as he descended from the skies.

"Madara."

"That eye on his forehead…" Kakashi pointed.

"Watch out, we're surrounded by twelve of his shadows." Sasuke said.

"I know that." Came Naruto's reply.

"I won't let you do anything else." Madara said as he slowly stood up straight. "I just severed the karmic circle of this World. I freed humankind from their suffering, their pain and their futility."

"But it's all just a lie." Izumi said angrily but Madara didn't even look at her. She was entirely beneath his notice. This action went a long way in angering the Uchiha but she held her emotions in check.

"Naruto, Sasuke. You're the ones interfering with everyone's happiness right now. Enough with the side show. I've returned Hell into Heaven. Wake up. It's all over."

However, as soon as he finished speaking, he found himself at a loss of breath as a hand protruded out of his chest.

"Wrong Madara… You are not the saviour nor is this the end of things."

Zetsu's POV

Ah…how euphoric. To think that despite the odds, I came out on top. Me, the Outcast, The weak one without a physical body. I did it.

Hagoromo, Hamura, Indra, Ashura and that accursed Human, Shun… Gah! Even the mention of his name involves so much wrath.

To think that a mere human, given the opportunity to use mother's chakra could be the one to create so much troubles for me. To think that he instilled so much fear…

Still…it's quite unfortunate that he isn't here to see me succeed. After all the threats, the seals…I prevailed.

All that's left now is for mother to return. Still, I must remain thankful to all of them. They were the ones who made me grow this much.

"How can you say that you, unlike Obito, are able to completely take advantage of others? Isn't it presumptuous to think that you alone are different, my dear Madara?"

"What are you talking about, Black Zetsu!?"

"Ah! How I hate that name - Black - attached to my name - Zetsu. It was that human, wasn't it? It was him who first called me that…Hehehe." I couldn't help but think back to my first encounter with him. He was a remarkable human.

Ah…what's this? Am I being reminiscent? Is this that feeling you get when you finally win? Hahaha. I quite enjoy this feeling.

"I created you. You are my Will incarnate." The fool that was Madara said. Imagine the gull he has. To call me. Me! his will. How laughable.

"Wrong again Madara… My Will is…Kaguya's!"

Hehehe. Finally, I can say mother's name proudly. How long has it been since I last called mother.

As I thought to myself, I didn't miss the discussions these insufferable humans were having. It seems like they recognise mother's name. Was it Hagoromo or Shun perhaps?

"Oh? You finally caught on…it seems it was Hagoromo who told you guys about it. No wonder you smell like him. Unfortunately, I win in the end." I could help but cackle in glee. Just imagining Hagoromo's face…

"AAARGH!!"

"What the hell is happening to him!? What incredible Chakra!"

"All of Madara's Shadows have disappeared. Something's up." Sasuke replied.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

As though the chakra from the Ten-Tails wasn't enough, explosions rang out as Visible, tangible chakra burst forth from the Earth itself. Like the opening of a floodgate, chakra poured out from the earth itself and into Madara at astonishing speeds.

"He's absorbing all this chakra that's erupting from the ground!" Kakashi said as he tried to stabilise himself behind Naruto's chakra cloak.

"Where did all this thick dark chakra come from?!"

Meanwhile Madara continued screaming as the chakra poured into his body. It would've been bad if Zetsu wasn't controlling it all. Not even a Sage Body like Madara's could absorb that much chakra without exploding.

"This is really bad, Sasuke! This chakra is way stronger than even the Ten-Tails!!"

"Stop them before they complete whatever it is they're doing." Sasuke said and formed a Chidori Spear while Naruto turned one Orb into a spear, however, before they could even move, the stream of chakra pouring into Madara turned solid wrapped itself around them both.

"Two bugs flying into the fire. I'll suck both your chakra right now while I'm at it." Zetsu said

"Dammit! I can't move! Sasuke! If we don't stop him now, he'll draw everyone's chakra before ours and they'll all die!" Naruto said and his words weren't without reason.

As it stood now, Naruto and Sasuke had the most amount of chakra in the entire planet, bar from some people. Before their chakra is sucked dry, it was a given that at the very least, two-third of every living thing would've had their chakra sucked out.

"Don't worry…I'm not going to kill anyone at all." Zetsu ensured the blond upon hearing his words. "Even when Kaguya previously cast this Jutsu upon the populace of the World, she preserved those people alive in order to form them into soilders."

"Form..? What do you mean?" Sasuke asked though his bindings.

"Heh. You seem to be denser than even Itachi over there. Can you use ordinary folks for combat?" Zetsu asked with a sinister grin.

"No way…"

"That's right…they're turned into White Zetsu. What's left of those who were under the previous Mugen Tsukuyomi. That's what the White Zetsu are. They're transformed slowly over time."

"Then you're saying everyone's gonna end up as those White guys!?" Naruto asked in anger and trepidation. 'I can't let that happen!' he thought as he began exerting more force into his binding.,

In the meantime, Madara's body continued to expand slowly but steadily.

"Hey! It's super large now!" Naruto commented.

"It's because his body can't tolerate the amount of chakra he took in. At this rate, he's going to explode!!" Sasuke pointed out. Naruto already knew that but he didn't have the time or energy to point that out to Sasuke.

However, contrary to their expectations, the large ball of meat began shrinking with Obito, previously Zetsu's vessel fell off.

"He's shrinking..!?" was their thought at that moment.

The seconds trickled slowly as the ball shrunk to just a round ball as tall a human.

Crack. Crack. Crack.

The sound of cracking rang out as the black ball slowly cracked, and like a chick popping out of its egg, a woman slowly burst out from the ball. The black ball that was her egg slowly unraveled itself and turned into her hair.

She gazed impassively at the world beneath her without moving for a few seconds.

"Her! Isn't that the one the super old gramps mentioned..?"

"Otsustsuki…Kaguya!!"

A/N: Alright. I'm gonna be honest and say that I didn't even know what to write towards the ending of this chapter. I felt like I was repeating a couple of phrases too much.
