Chapter 31: Sasuke: He Still Has To Thank Us

The atmosphere between Kurenai Yuhi and Sarutobi Asuma was becoming tense. Despite Sarutobi Asuma's consistent denials, Kurenai Yuhi couldn't help but suspect him of lying at every his move.

Gradually, their voices were the only ones heard at the table. Kakashi, who had been eating in silence to recover his strength after being worn out by Sasuke's torture earlier that day, looked up, baffled by the situation. He had not been paying close attention.

Noting their expressions, Kakashi commented, "Asuma, what did you do to make Kurenai angry? Well, if it's not a big deal, just apologize, admit your mistake, and it'll be over."

This scenario was all too familiar to him; Obito and Rin had similar exchanges in the past. Sasuke, silently listening, couldn't help thinking, 'No wonder Kakashi is so handsome yet single... Admitting a mistake here would only lead to more trouble!'

Kakashi, scratching his head, wondered, "Is there something wrong with what I said?" It was not the first time he had been in such a situation.

Uzumaki Kushina scoffed, "Hey, Kakashi, you're going to be single forever at this rate..."

Iruka, puzzled, asked, "Why? Isn't Kakashi-senpai right?"

Tsunade snapped, "Idiot! If Kurenai Yuhi's anger is a bomb ready to explode, apologizing would set it off, not defuse it!"

Ebisu questioned, "Then should we keep denying it? The bomb will explode sooner or later!"

Kushina retorted, "You should've avoided causing trouble in the first place! Who asked you to interfere?"

Terumi Mei suggested, "You might think you're helping, but have you considered whether it aligns with the other person's wishes?"

The male ninjas had an epiphany. That's right!

Kakashi realized, "No wonder my attempts to mediate between Obito and Rin never worked."

Obito, grinding his teeth in frustration, exclaimed, "Kakashi, you!"

The culprit was finally revealed – it was Kakashi's doing all along!

As expected, under Kakashi's misguided advice, Sarutobi Asuma admitted his fault, causing Kurenai Yuhi's anger to explode. He scolded Asuma, leaving him even more confused. Why did an admission make Kurenai even angrier?

After some time, once Kurenai Yuhi had calmed down a bit, Sasuke tried to soothe the situation, "Teacher Kurenai, please calm down. Teacher Asuma had good intentions. And I believe in you, Teacher Kurenai. Even on your own, you can handle it. You're now guiding the eighth class as a Jōnin, and I see it as a test. I believe that you'll be an excellent guide for Jōnin."

Kurenai Yuhi glared at Sarutobi Asuma again, exclaiming, "Who asked for such kindness!" However, hearing Sasuke's words made her mood improve significantly, and she began to look at Sasuke more favorably.

"Sasuke, you and Hinata have a good time. Don't let Hinata end up like me, single at such an age."

"How old is Mr. Kurenai? If Mr. Kurenai were my girlfriend, I'm afraid Konoha and the others would hate me to death."

"Hehe, how dare you say that in front of Hinata!"

The quarrel gradually subsided.

Sarutobi Asuma was relieved.

He gave a grateful look to Sasuke.

If Sasuke hadn't been there today, perhaps Kurenai would have left the meeting angrily.

Tsunade chuckled, "Hehe! A group of Jōnin being led by the nose by a child is really promising!"

Uzumaki Kushina joked, "Konoha Pill, these male Jōnin are destined to be single for a lifetime."

After the event,

Yuhihong refused Sarutobi Asuma's offer to send her home and left alone.

Sarutobi Asuma sighed but didn't know what to do.

He still didn't understand why Kurenai was so angry.

Sasuke stepped forward and offered some words of comfort:

"Teacher Asuma, wait for Teacher Kurenai to calm down in a few days, then just explain to her clearly."

"After all, you have good intentions. I believe Teacher Kurenai will understand you."

Sarutobi Asuma nodded and gratefully said, "Thank you very much, Sasuke. If it weren't for you, I really don't know what I would have done today."

Sasuke smiled nonchalantly.

"Teacher Kurenai will forget this in a few days. Then, Sarutobi Asuma, you can explain it again and remind me."

"I believe you two have a strong relationship!"

Jiraiya said, "This is too cruel..."
