Hikaru noticed some abnormalities as he got closer, Tsunade looked quite pretty and her breasts were still larger than they had any right to be. But there was no seal on her forehead, her regeneration seal, her greatest trump card.
Tsunade watched as Hikaru's eyes scanned her, contrary to the normal reaction she got from men he didn't stare at her breasts for too long instead his gaze lingered on her face for a bit.
'I guess he's too young to be interested in those things yet,' Tsunade suppressed a smirk as he turned to Koji and asked, "What brings you in today Koji, did you reconsider my offer to be properly trained as a medic nin."
Tsunade has been recruiting chunins to be inducted into the medic nin program for a while now, only after the war had started did she start getting some success into her recruitment efforts. Although it disgusted her that only cowards that were afraid of war accepted the invite she didn't have a choice in that regard.
"No Tsunade-sama, I accepted two genin squads to mentor and Hikaru here had a good chakra control and he was interested in learning medical ninjutsu so I brought him over to you to see if he has any talent in the field..." Koji explained.
Tsunade looked surprised as she looked over at Hikaru, he looked barely 8 years old, and because of the monsterous chakra that was hiding in his tiny body she didn't expect the words good chakra control to be associated with him.
She regarded Hikaru once again, and then spoke, "You want to learn medical ninjutsu, why?"
'There should be plenty of techniques passed down in his clan, how would he even know about medical ninjtusu to begin with.'
"Because I want to survive the upcoming war..." Hiakru's sentence was short but they did stun both Koji and Tsunade.
"In a battlefield every minute every second is crucial, if I can provide some form of healing to a comrade in time before they had to retreat all the way to medic camp, they could deal with one more shinobi and I would have to deal with one less." Hikaru answered, he kept his reasoning simple.
"There is strength in numbers, 1000 vs 999 is easier than 999 vs 1000. It does not need individual heroics and risk to affect the outcome of a battle." Seeing that both of them were silent Hikaru tried one more time to get his message across and then he raised his eyebrows in a questioning look.
Tsunade didn't react to Hikaru's raised eyebrows as she thought about his words, just a week ago her request to include a medic-nin in every 3 man squad was rejected by Sensei. Hikaru's views were pure and simple but they did push a simple message across.
'In chunin-level battles where ninjutsu does not fly around too often, numbers mean much more. So my theory is reasonable for smaller battles, it's the fight between Jonins where a weak link could hinder the battle enough to cause problems for his own teammates.'
"-Tsunade-sama?"
Tsunade woke up from her thoughts and looked at Koji's questioning face, she waved her hands to dispel his arguments and then looked at Hikaru once again, despite repeated warnings from her elders to never look into an Uchiha's eyes she looked in there to see, searching for the true thoughts of the kid.
There was no malice or hidden intentions she could detect, for some reason where the rest of the Uchiha kids wanted to learn more fire jutsu Uchiha Hikaru really wanted to learn medical ninjutsu.
Tusnade sighed as she leaned back, her senses told her that he had too large chakra reserves so she shouldn't waste time on him. But for her beliefs, she persisted and leaned back forward.
"Alright, Koji you can leave or join for a few sessions of emergency medicine," Tsunade smiled at Koji and the older man blushed as he hurriedly nodded and went to an unoccupied table and began working on using chakra bandages.
Hikaru looked at the interaction in interest, who knew Tsunade would honey-trap shinobi to learn medical ninjutsu? His smile was noticed by Tsunade who gave him a glare and motioned for him to follow her.
They arrived in the adjacent office attached to the room, there were files and medical charts everywhere but Tusnade motioned for Hikaru to stand in front of the desk.
"Your sensei told me that you have good enough chakra control but seeing the size of your reserves I doubt it. I'll teach you a chakra control exercise if you could perfectly master the technique I would consider teaching you the basics of medical ninjutsu..." Tsunade spoke, although she could teach him the basics of emergency without having to go through all the hassle, she wanted to test/lure Hikaru into appreciating medicinal ninjutsu more.
She had read scrolls about the powerful analytical and perceptive bonuses one gets on having a Sharingan. To be able to see how your chakra moves and even see your chakra repairing the damage done to someone else's body was like a dream for her.
She wanted to see what the epitome of medical skills could do with eyes that could see the truth.
Tsunade placed a pack of chopsticks on the table, Hikaru looked at it in confusion before Tsunade took out a single chopstick and placed it in between her palms. Then she opened her palms and made an 'O' shape with her fingertips and wrist touching each other and the chopstick was floating perfectly in between her hands.
"Normally one would do this exercise with needles to make sure that they exhaust more chakra to build up their reserves, but seeing the density of chakra you have, you would do it with chopsticks... If you apply too much chakra," Tsunade paused and the chopstick leaned to one side and broke.
"Then the chopstick breaks, you need to apply the same small amount of chakra from both your hands to keep it perfectly balanced, once you can hold it like this perfectly still for 5 mins you'll pass..."
