Her arrival likely disturbed his concentration as the chopstick broke into two pieces causing Hikaru to let out an annoyed, "Tch-" he looked back at Tsunade who was still staring at his hands in shock.
"Uh, Tsunade-sama I'm almost there it should take me a couple of days to learn this technique..." Hikaru elaborated as he stared at the notification that he had kept up to see his progress after each attempt.

Tsunade stared at Hikaru's hands for a bit and then she sighed as she walked around the table and sat in her seat. The talent displayed by Hikaru was enough for her to be completely serious as the previous lazy expression was nowhere to be seen.
Hikaru looked at the serious expression on Tsunade's face and got ready for a second round of testing, he was pretty sure she was debating whether to teach him or not.
'How do I start teaching him, should I start now or let him completely master this exercise? I should at least see if he even wants to seriously learn medical ninjutsu...' Tsunade thought for a moment before she finally decided her path of approach.
"You have talent..." Tsunade's sudden words startled Hikaru as he looked at her honey-brown eyes, her eyes were shining a little as she continued, "...It will be a waste to teach you nothing so I will teach you the basics at the very least. Enough that you could use healing once you leave the battle and maybe rescue fellow comrades in the front lines." Tsunade spoke, her eyes filled with a little hope of finally being able to use the combination techniques that Katsuyu taught her.
'His chakra reserves are quite good too, we might be able to create the healing zone that Katsuyu talked about...'
Hikaru looked at Tsunade who got lost in thought as she clutched the necklace. After a moment of silence, she continued, "...the other option is a lot more difficult, it will take you a lot of time to memorize all the scrolls and you would have to devote countless amounts of time to get satisfying results. But you will be able to save a lot more lives that might not survive being brought back to base camp."
Hikaru looked at Tsunade who was now once again hiding behind her stoic mask, he looked into her eyes for a moment and seriously thought about it, he wasn't afraid of learning and memorizing stuff plus with the amount of chakra he had he could create a shadow clone that could focus on learning while he focused on chakra and practical work.
"Can you teach me the shadow clone jutsu?" Hikaru asked the question startled Tsunade but she could see the angle at which Hikaru was going, if it was anyone else she would have denied but she could sense how dense his chakra was.
'One clone should be fine, two if he stretches it.'
"Only if you promise to not give up halfway," Tsunade spoke and Hikaru nodded. Tsunade walked up and went to the shelf that was full of scrolls and pulled out a blank scroll. She picked up a brush and inkpot from her drawer and sat back down.
"I'll write down the contents of the scroll for you and you will memorize it. Remember the Shadow Clone Jutsu is a very special technique and only Konoha Jonins are normally permitted to learn this technique. The main reason behind that is we don't want this jutsu to leak as it is one of the reasons Konoha can have superior information gathering during times of war..." Tsunade emphasized.
Hikaru nodded in understanding so Tsunade spoke, "Alright, continue with your exercise but listen to my words, remember the needle balancing exercise," she pointed at the chopsticks, "is something you need to be able to do instinctively, so it should serve as an early round of practise for you."
Hikaru nodded as he pulled out another chopstick and put it between his palms, he concentrated and soon the chopstick started going to and fro between his palms. After a while, he looked up at Tsunade and nodded.
"Alright, first we'll start with some theory. As you know chakra is made up of physical energy and spiritual energy. The chakra network invades our body and one of its main functions is to extract physical energy from the cells all over our body and the spiritual energy produced by our brain. These two energies are then circulated to our heart where chakra is finally refined." Tsundae explained as she wrote down on the scroll.
"So chakra is made up of two components, physical energy, and spiritual energy, these energies in themselves aren't useful and we can't use them in techniques. We can only use them after they combine with each other and form chakra. Now you know about the five natures of chakra, they are fire, water, wind, lightning, and Earth." Tsunade continued seemingly lost in her thoughts.
"But in addition to this, there is Yin-natured chakra that you normally use to perform genjutsu, and Yang nature chakra that you probably haven't heard of but it is counterpart to Yin nature chakra. In medical ninjutsu, we use these Yin and Yang nature chakra to heal-"
~Crack~
The chopstick in between Hikaru's palms broke and he swiftly replaced it with a new one, Tsunade paused for a brief moment before she continued, "Remember I talked about Spiritual energy and Physical energy and that they weren't very useful in itself. Well, the capillaries and chakra veins that distribute chakra throughout your body are different from the ones that handle these physical and spiritual energies..."
Hikaru closed his eyes as he removed another variable that was using his mental power, he simply focused on listening to Tsunade's voice and the chopstick oscillating in his palm.
"...The reason for that is that when combined the chakra and any of the two energies, they have a violent reaction. The Spiritual energy eliminates the part that matches itself from the chakra leaving pure Yang energy. The Physical energy similarly leaves behind a pure Yin energy. The genjutsu techniques you use are also based on this principle."
Tsunade finished writing the scroll and she looked up to see Hikaru, he had his eyes closed and he looked serene, if it weren't for the oscillating chopstick in his hands he might even look like he was meditating. She smiled as she saw his concentration but quickly put it away as he opened his eyes to see why she stopped talking.
"Here, your shadow clone jutsu, memorize it then burn it. I need to make some arrangements for your studies..." Tsunade spoke as she skipped out of the room.
Hikaru looked at the Shadow clone jutsu and smiled...
'Finally... fucking Fugaku stopped me from learning it from the clan library...' Hikaru thought as he took the scroll in his hands and began reading.
