14 Chapter 14
Chapter 14: Groupings.
Due to the intense first test, out of the one thousand cadets, only 416 survived.
"This is 200 fewer than the first test from 10 years ago,"
"As expected, Elder Hang Soyu's sound waves were too much," said the Left Guardian Lee Hameng with a sigh.
The 416 cadets that passed the first test were then divided into twenty groups, with each group having at least twenty or so members.
Each of these groups was given an instructor to teach and guide them in tactics, strategies, and martial arts until the second test.
The second test would be conducted twenty days after the first test, which left many cadets in dismay, but there was nothing they could do.
"In this academy, you do not say 'Yes' or 'No'; you respond with 'Mado!' Anything more than that is something like making your superior repeat his order!"
That was also one of the things that were briefed to the cadets.
But since everything has been demoralizing so far, the Left Guardian had to offer some rewards after wielding the stick.
So, the cadets were given a bronze plaque symbolizing their attainment of the lowest rank warrior within the cult. Besides that, they were given a Black Dragon Pill, which grants one 10 years of neigong/internal energy.
Night: Group 9, Cheon Mujin's group.
Cheon Mujin was placed in group 9, where there were at least twenty members from different clans.

And, of course, the 8th Prince of the Cheon Family and the Young Master of the Emerald Serpent Clan, Cheon Mujin.
Currently, everyone in Group 9 was gathered outside by their assigned instructor, Ja So-hee.
Ja So-hee looked at the lined-up cadets in front of him and nodded. It seemed that the first test had disciplined these young ones very thoroughly.
"Today we'll decide your group leader through a duel; each of you will fight one another until only one remains. Am I clear?" Ja So-hee said.
"Mado!" All of them responded, but there was one exception, Cheon Mujin. Ja So-hee glared at Cheon Mujin and asked with contained anger.
"Cadet No. 8, I didn't hear your answer," The instructor released his threatening aura, and by not responding immediately, it seemed like Cheon Mujin was challenging his authority.
"Forgive me if I come off as rude, but may I pose a suggestion?" Said Cheon Mujin with his sly and mocking smile, which seemed to perpetually remain on his face alongside his narrow eyes, making it really unsettling.
The instructor was caught off guard by his reaction, even though he was releasing his aura at full force, it didn't affect Cheon Mujin at all.
"Y-yes, you may," he replied, stuttering at his first sentence, which was embarrassing for him.
"Thank you, Instructor Ja So-hee," said Cheon Mujin, but the way he spoke Ja So-hee's name was very informal and casual.
"Then I shall proceed."
"Since I am quite confident I can take all of my groupmates here, I don't want to waste time fighting them one by one. They can just all come at me at the same time," he said with confidence.
A still silence befell everyone as they became too shocked to even conjure a sentence. The other's declaration was just too absurd that it was not funny at all.
Immediately upon being insulted and digesting his words, all of them shouted simultaneously.
"You! Even if you come from a High-Ranking Clan, how can you be so arrogant!" Shouted a stout man with a tall stature, Moon Sang-hoon from the Luminous Crane Clan, a fairly known Medium-rank clan.
"That's right! How could you look down on us! You may be from the lord's bloodline, but the moment you step up here, your entire privilege dissolves!" Another one spoke with anger; this one was a fairly rotund man, Song Dae-ho of the Iron Lotus Clan.
"You're too arrogant for your own good, Cadet 9! We are both from a high-ranking clan! We're the same! You are not even from one of the Six Clans!" Shouted a man with dazzling features and pronounced stature, Nam Seo-yeon of the Ivory Tiger Clan, from a High-ranking Clan of the Cult.
As one cadet after another threw out their words, the instructor shouted, imbuing his words with neigong, making everybody stop.
"Silence!"
"Mado!" They straightened themselves up and shouted in unison, but their glares remained prominent.
In response to their ferocious glares, Cheon Mujin only smiled.
"Cadet 9, I have no doubt about your martial arts, but even for you, what you are suggesting is too hard," Instructor Ja So-hee said to him.
"Why so?" Asked Cheon Mujin, tilting his head.
"You and I are members of the Cult. What we pride the most is our strength. If I trust what I am capable of, then what is it that I should fear?" Said Cheon Mujin.
Instructor Ja So-hee was left speechless by Cheon Mujin's cult-like response, and he just gave up.
"This…! Agh! Fine! You can have it your way!"
