Peaceful Dinner

William glanced to the side, finding Lisa standing next to him, looking at him with a worried expression. "Paula is gone. You should think about the future. Lukas needs a mother, and you need a wife, right?"

Silence. Lisa didn't expect any answer. William's silence already meant an answer.

"I need time," William replied after almost a minute of not answering.

"I know, you lost Paula deeply, but by mourning continuously—"

"I already followed your will by marrying Paula first, didn't I?" William cut in. "Don't force me to marry a second time."

William's frustration was evident in his eyes. "Besides, Ava has the right to live with her own choices. She's still too young to sacrifice herself, serving a widowed father like me. I don't even know if she still wants to take care of Lukas after I got angry and kicked her out a few days ago."
