Chapter Seventeen

It all began four months ago when Christian Sydney had bumped into Elaine white at a Louis Vuitton store in New York City during one of her shopping sprees. Both parties had been rushing through the store when they ran into each other. At first, they stared wordlessly at each other before Chris finally regained his composure and gasped an apology.

"Elaine, my...my apologies. I wasn't looking..."

She quickly cut him off. "No, it's me. I was in a hurry...I'm...I'm sorry about that." She said hurried, then pursed her lips and averted her eyes. An uncomfortable silence followed during which she could feel his eyes burning into her. She looked up at him and saw him looking at her rather oddly, a lazy look in his eyes, an amused smile playing around his lips. She looked away quickly. It hurt to even be in his presence.

"It's been such a while, Elaine." He said lightly and she nodded. "Indeed it has."
