Romania's pov
That night we slept together on my bed, wallowing in sadness and the kids missed Lia. I had to call her to talk them to bed and she had to talk me to bed too. I couldn't sleep, but after talking about work, we finally slept.
The next morning, the same routine. The only difference was the kids were so happy to go to school. No, it's not school, its Lia. They can't wait to see her today in the afternoon. I dropped them off at school and rushed to work. I was eager to see her. After I reached the office, she was already there typing away on her keyboard. I summoned her to my office to start on today's work. "Good morning sir." She greeted me curtly. "Are you going to be this serious with me? Please just use my name, please Lia." I told her. "Dude, if I take fun Lia out then we won't be working here," she says, smiling.
"Okay, I agree, let's get back to work, then we can get out fun Lia to play. I really miss her." I said and dismissed her. I chuckle at the thought of her referring to herself as fun Lia. I went back to work with a cold expression on my face, I handled all the calls forwarded to me. I made deals with some companies and got invited to some rich party to close a deal and I had to bring a plus one. Maybe I will ask Lia to be my plus one, then we will bring serious Lia out and scare all the competition. I shook my head and smiled at that thought.
I heard a knock at the door and let the person in. Douglas walks in with a smug look on his face. "What?" "You are smiling, why? Why are you smiling douche!" He asked. "I don't know, maybe I'm just happy." He shakes his head and sits in front of my desk, "No, let me guess its Lia." He says wiggling his eyebrows. "No, its noneofyourbusiness." I mumble. "What do you want Douglas, I really have a lot of work." "Okay, so I was looking into the attempted kidnapping of the kids and Eva is behind it, though we don't have enough proof to put her in jail for a long time. You need to get a bodyguard for the kids, a driver and a nanny." He says it all in one breath.
That crazy woman, I will choke her to death if she comes near me or my kids again. I will have to talk to Lia about this. She is a package deal and the kids love her. She will have to stay with us for this to work. I will talk to her tonight, I think to myself. She walks in and greets us, "I have to go pick up the kids sir. I have sent everything to your email address and I have no work left until next week. If you have anything else to do, send me an email please." She says. "I have a proposal for you. I would like you to be the kids' bodyguard, driver and nanny for some time until we catch the person behind their attempted kidnapping. I promise I will pay you more and it's not a lifetime deal, it's just for a while." I asked with hopeful eyes. "For the kids, I will do it without pay, but let me think about it first. I will give you the answer tonight." She says and excuses herself to leave.
"The kids must like her if they let her close," Douglas says, smiling. "No they love her!" I say, smiling, remembering last night. "Is there any chance you like her too?" He asked. I gave him a cold glare, then cleared my throat and ignored his question. "Thank you Douglas, you can go back to work." He laughed at my attempt to ignore the question but at least he got it and he walked out of my office laughing like a crazed man. He is the only person except from my family that knows me inside out and isn't afraid of me. He has been my best friend for over fifteen years and I love that knuckle head.
Lia's pov
I drove to school thinking of the offer. I love the kids and I totally want to keep them safe. I will have to talk to the boys first before I make up my mind. I reached school just on time and went to pick them from their classroom. "Hi , I'm here to pick up Xandria and Xander," I tell the teacher as she nods with a smile. "Romanias your nanny is here to pick you," the teacher announces. "Yaaaay Lia, we missed you so much." I crouch down to hug them. "I missed you guys too," I tell them kissing their cheeks.
We walked to the car, Xandria telling us how she made a new friend today. On our way home, I called Romania to ask if I could pass by my place to talk to the boys and he gave me the go ahead." Hey guys, we are going to my place to see the boys first, then I will take you home." "Okay, are we going to see Lechi and Achi?" Xander asked. "Yes loves, I need to talk to them about something important and then I will let you in on my little secret." I say smiling at them.
I drove thinking of the offer and how the boys would react. We have never been separated since the day we started living together. I reached the driveway and packed the car, got the kids out and led them to the house. We entered and I prepared some snacks for them as they did their homework and afterwards I chose a movie for them to watch as we waited for the boys to come back home.
I heard the front door open and close and the strong cologne hit me. I knew it was them so I stood up and headed their way to hug them and spoil them with kisses. "Hi guys, I'm glad you are home, get something to eat, then we can have a talk. Its important." I tell them after hugging them and pointing them towards the two sleeping forms on the couch. "You brought the kids here?" Lechi asks skeptically, I can see their confusion. "Okay come, I will explain while you both eat." I lead them towards the kitchen and pulled out the bar stools.
They took their seats and they turned to look at me with worry in their eyes, "are they in trouble sis?" Achi asks. "I guess, so today my boss gave me an offer, to be the twins' bodyguard, driver and nanny until they arrest the person behind their attempted kidnapping and I wanted to hear your opinion on this before I can make my decision." I look at the boys anxiously waiting for their reply. "No! You can't take that offer, its dangerous and you may get hurt." Achi says anger clear in his tone.
"C'mon Brother, they are small kids and they need help and protection just like she protected us for years. We must learn to share our precious sister and we both know how good she is at protecting children. I understand your concern, Achi, and if she takes the offer, then we are going with her. No one left behind." Lechi says with finality, and Achi nods, agreeing to what his brother said. I stare at my boys and think about this. I know they also need protection, so we are in this together.
"Okay, go pack your things and let me go talk to the twins and my boss too." I said as I walked towards the living room. I found them awake and watching coco. I sat down between them and took their hands in mine and pecked them on the knuckles. They both giggled and I smiled at them. "Guys, we are going home now and the boys are coming with us." "Are you coming to live with us?" Xander asked with hopeful looks in their eyes. "Maybe, I have to talk to your dad first." I told them and smiled. I sighed and picked up my phone to call my boss. After our conversation, he finally agreed and we were out the door by five in the evening. The boys with their duffle bags and the twins were so excited they kept asking the boys questions about their rooms and how they wanted to decorate them. I was all smiles listening to them laughing and talking to the twins. "So will you be our big brothers and Lia our mommy?" Xander asked and Xandria was eyeing us with anticipation. Something awoke in me. I dont know what it was but I fell for those kids even more.
We reached the mansion and everybody got out of the car. I was surprised to see Romania and Douglas standing at the door waiting for us. Is that a smile I see? Well, it's weird my boss never smiles. They came to help with the luggage and helped the boys carry them into the house. I took the twins in and straight to their rooms to help them wash up. "Hey Ronia, please help me with Xander. Help him wash up as I handle Xandria." I call my boss my new-found nickname. Everybody stopped and looked at me like I had grown horns. "Who is Ronia?" The twins asked.
" It's your dad, I just shortened his name." I said, and they started giggling, looking at their father who had pink-tainted cheeks, really! He is blushing? "Well, Ronia, why don't you go help Lia." Douglas says, stifling a laugh, and the boys are chuckling, "My God she is going to mom all of us." The boys said with a knowing look and smiles on those cute faces.
"O-okay, I'm coming." He says and walks into Xanders' room. I winked at the rest and took Xandria to her room. Tonight we rest, tomorrow we will have that talk.
Working for my boss is not what I thought this job would get me. I have this feeling that something big is coming and the kids are involved. I won't live with them, I will have to teach them self-defense just for their protection. Lechi and Achi will have to do it too, they need it. This will be a long ride but I have my family and new-found friends with me.
