Once all people received Souls and incredible powers. Some were lucky enough to obtain the Soul of an ancient and powerful creature, but fate was not favorable to all. The world began to change, and creatures evolved. But, it was not the beginning of a new era. It was the end. A couple of months later, a dark mist appeared and destroyed the world. It was a dictate of destiny from which no one could escape. Wain Norheim was the world's best assassin and the only one who didn't get a soul. However, he was destined to gain the power to confront fate. Escaping through a portal into another world, he unknowingly began the apocalypse. Even the world failed to expel him.
"Hmm? What are you talking about? I don't understand you at all..." Felix muttered with an awkward look as he scratched his cheek.
"Oh, it will only be a small test, so I must also quench my interest. I hope you understand." Wain smirked, clenched his hand into a fist, and stuck it into Felix's stomach.
Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.
The impact created a shockwave that knocked Felix back several meters. His eyes went wide and with a pained face, his mouth opened wide.
Felix fell onto the invisible platform and struggled to his feet.
"What are you doing...? Did I insult you somehow...? Why did you do that?!" Felix exclaimed furiously, but there was no anger in his voice; it was a cry filled with resentment.
"I apologize in advance, but it seems my actions have already had an effect. We must continue." Wain pointed at Felix, or rather at the darkness that appeared behind him.
