CHAPTER 4

IVY'S POV

"The poor thing" I mutter as Hazel leaves class followed by Kimberly.

"Ivy, that was inconsiderate of you" Eric my boyfriend and the school basketball captain says.

"C'mon!! that was fun Eric, don't be too touchy"I defend. That's one thing I dislike about Eric he's just too sensitive. Okay for instance, One dayin the auditorium at rehearsals, a student spurt water on my dress, I slapped him and ordered him to wipe my feet and then pay for the damage, Eric rebuked me for that.

Whatever!! Back to the present. Hazel Woods looks like the perfect kid to pick up right now. My kind of prey just how I like it. Class is over and I gotta use the bathroom.

I am about to push the door open when Hazel and Kimberly walk out. I stare at them but Kimberly returns the stare accompanied by a wicked grin.

"Kimberly Martin!"

"What bitch?"

I am thrown offguard when she refers to me with the vulgar word. I curse witgin myself promising to teach her a lesson.

"Nothing, just that you look crappier than usual in that coat". I say and walk away.

6 HOURS LATER

I wait in the lobby of Eagle's Enterprisem. Yea! my dad's company. His Secretary Ms Morris, keeps clicking on one icon to another her computer. I wonder how she keeps concentrating on her work with the noise in the background.

"Ivy, your father will be out in an hour, he's in the conference room with some executives" Ms Morris informs me.

"That's fine with me" I assure her. I pull out my phone to check if I have any messages. That has always been my lifestyle I never text first, you text and if you're special I reply and those special people include Eric, Heather my best friend and the school basketball team.

I switch to Instagram and log into my page of course:

FOLLOWING. FOLLOWERS. LIKES

38. 16M. 20M

Yeah!!! thats the queen herself, the school hottie, the party rider. I smile to myself.

My dad walks out of the conference room with a number of males numbering 12 in total. I walk up to him.

"Dad! Dad!!"

"Oh Ivy, for how long have you been here?"

"Uhmm...an hour"

"Sorry about that hun, I really can't leave now I'll have Steven take you home"

"I..I..I don't understand, we're supposed to have a father-daughter dinner today, you promised". I say in between tears.

"I'm sorry, its been cancelled, I'm very busy" my father explains and walks away.

That has always been my dad, make promises, raise high hopes and then crush them.

I wipe my tears and ignore the pity in the eyes of the occupants of the lobby and go home.
