Chapter 8

We did not wait in the line like everyone else. We walked to the front of the balcony that over looked the lawn where all the tents, games, and tables were set up. I could see My mother, Catherien, Edward, Chloe, and Chloe's friends standing in the middle of the crowd. Jasper and I stood next to the ledge of the balcony since it did not have railing to the point that my dress was going to spill over the side if we didn't stop.

To announce us, the announcer banged his stick on a piece of wood built into the deck that had a hole under it for occasions like this. The three bangs drew everyone's attention to us. I stood on Jasper's right side as we were announced.

"Jasper Ive, Prince of Braxton. Accompanied by Melianna GracAnn, Princess of Arrona." the announcer shouted.

Everyone in the crowd stopped talking as they took in what was just said. My sister exchanged confused looks with everyone around her.

I watched as Catherien stormed up the steps to us. Jasper pulled a letter out of his pocket and handed it to her. I could feel the glares I was receiving from my mother and sister but I ignored them. Everyone was still watching the scene in font of them as I turned with Jasper when he did. I smiled as Catherien opened the letter and dropped to the ground sobbing. Jasper turned back to the crowd to make his announcement.

"I am here to deliver a message from Braxton. Catherien Marie Ive, you are here by stripped of your title of Queen of Braxton. You are no longer allowed to return to Braxton. You are no longer Catherien Ive. You are now Catherien Demount. You have been severed with the notice of divorce. You have twenty-four hours to surrender all items you have bought with King Ive's money, items you brought from Braxton, and items you have gifted others that are from Braxton. Please return all items to Braxton soldiers in the western tower. If you fail to do so, you will be trialed for theft and treason.

Edwards Charles Ive, you are here by stripped of your title of Prince of Braxton and heir to the throne. You are no longer allowed to return to Braxton. You have one week to surrender all items you have bought with King Ive's money, items you brought from Braxton, and items you have gifted others that are from Braxton. Please return all items to Braxton soldiers in the western tower. If you fail to do so, you will be trialed for theft and treason.

Ok, now onto a happier note. King Raymond Ive married Macy Leay, my mother, today at eight o'clock this morning. At two o'clock in the afternoon, Macy Ive was crowned Queen of Braxton and I Prince of Braxton. I am now the sole heir to the King of Braxton.

On behalf of Braxton, I wish to congratulate the new parents on the birth of their baby boy."

After Jasper's speech was done, my mother brought Catherien inside. I walked around to all the nobles with Jasper so that he could deliver the notice of trade with Braxton nobles. We did not go speak to Chloe or Edward. When we were finished talking to everyone, I decided to play a game and Jasper joined. I could feel everyone's eyes on us the whole time. I stood out among the crowd in my white dress and Jasper in his black suit. I could hear whispers about the crown which only made me smile more as I knew I was the one who had the honor of wearing it tonight. After a few rounds of games, Annan approached us.

"Good evening your highness." she addressed Jasper.

"To you as well, your highness." he said kissing her hand which made her blush.

Without thinking, I wrapped my arm around his as her eyes turned on me. "That is a beautiful Queen's crown you are wearing tonight sister. Did you borrow it from mom or Chloe or even Catherien?" Annan tautened me which made me grip Jasper tighter and I knew that he took note of it as he came to my rescue.
