Takumi Fushiguro POV
I was currently irritated, with one hand stuffed in my pocket and the other pulling Naruto by his ear.
"Damn it, Naruto! This is the fiftieth time I've had to stop you from pulling another prank!" I exclaimed my brow twitching with irritation.
Naruto's face contorted in pain "ouch! ouch! Fushiguro, let me go! You're starting to make my ear go red, damn it!" he yelled.
A vicious smile spread across my face "that's the point, you dumbass. Maybe next time you'll use that ramen-addicted head of yours to stop pulling these stupid pranks and having Iruka-sensei interrupt me in the middle of my work," I lectured, continuing to drag us to the academy.
However as my rant subsided I noticed the awkward, silent atmosphere. The village, usually bustling, had a sudden grim air. Most of the stands were closed, and some of the civilians looked downcast.
Releasing Naruto's ear causing him to sigh in relief my eyes narrowed "oi Naruto, don't you think something's off today?" I remarked.
The teary-eyed blonde suddenly stood up straight, his face turning serious as he glanced around finally noticing the same thing I did "huh? What's up with everyone?" he voiced out in confusion.
"I have no idea…but I suddenly have a very bad feeling," I muttered as we arrived at the academy building.
We went down the hall until we reached our class. I could hear the other kids murmuring amongst themselves "Did you hear about the Uchiha's?" "Poor Sasuke," "They were massacred by his brother," were some of the whispers I picked up on.
It didn't take long for me to piece together what had happened. The Uchiha clan had apparently been killed last night by Sasuke's older brother, while Sasuke himself was left alive.
The door to the classroom slid open as Iruka stepped in with a calm yet somber face "good morning, class. As you no doubt have heard, a deep tragedy has occurred. One of our village's most prominent clans the Uchiha, were all slaughtered last night. Currently Sasuke is in the hospital recovering and won't be able to return until he is cleared. Now with that all being said—"
Of course, poor Iruka was cut off by the shrieks and loud whispers of the Sasuke Uchiha fan club. A vein appeared on Iruka's temple. "Tch…SHUT THE HELL UP! I AM ABOUT TO START TEACHING CLASS!!" he shouted with his head expanding like a balloon.
The fan girls proceeded to shut their mouths I sighed, pulling out my notebook and pen. Meanwhile Naruto merely placed his feet up on the desk and leaned back on his chair ready to fall asleep.
A few days went by eventually and still the village was covered in heavy depression Sasuke returned to the academy later that same week. I could practically feel the heavy aura of darkness surrounding the boy.
There was no light whatsoever in his eyes. The only reason Sasuke was even moving was for one reason…revenge. I knew that because that was me once upon a time when I received the news of losing my parents.
The very thing that drove me forward was revenge. This mindset soon suppressed itself down to a low level ever since I encountered my blonde-haired idiot neighbor (and not that I would ever admit it, my first friend), but it was still there in the back of my mind driving me forward.
Currently Naruto and I were walking back to our respective apartments with him grumbling. "Stupid teme, who does he think he is just because he was able to catch me off—" At this point I tuned him out. I really wasn't in the mood to listen to another one of Naruto's rants.
"Oi Takumi, stop ignoring me!" Naruto shouted when he finally noticed that I wasn't paying attention.
The sun was beginning to set when we stopped by the riverside to admire the view "wow, it sure is beautiful, dattebayo," Naruto muttered, his eyes glowing. I stuffed my hands into my pockets leaning up against a nearby tree.
"Heh, I'm surprised you even know what beautiful means, Naruto. Looks like you were paying attention to Iruka's lessons," I replied with a teasing grin causing Naruto to glare at me with indignation.
"Screw you, Fushiguro! I can be pretty smart when the situation calls for it, hmph!" he huffed, looking back at the setting sun.
I let out a silent chuckle "relax, I was only messing with you…" I trailed off when my eyes drifted further down the river, where I could see the familiar figure of Sasuke Uchiha sitting, looking into the sunset "tch! So that bastard is also here," Naruto said, finally noticing the nearby Uchiha.
As if sensing us, the black-haired boy turned back looking at the two of us there was something in his eyes that set me off slightly…loneliness. I opened my mouth to say something when Naruto suddenly stuck his tongue out at him the look in his eyes vanished and instead was replaced with irritated glare.
"Sigh…come on idiot let's go down there we can enjoy the view better from there," I said walking down to where Sasuke was sitting causing Naruto to choke on his spit "wha-what? You want us to sit next to the teme?!"
I lazily waved behind me "Hai! Hai! Now are you coming or what?" I said getting closer to the Uchiha. Naruto remained hesitant until he finally snapped.
"Argh damn you Takumi!" With a grumble, Naruto followed after me. Soon we reached the lone Uchiha, who looked at us in surprise I took a seat next to him while Naruto sat next to me.
"…What are you two doing here?" Sasuke finally questioned. I glanced up at the setting sun, the wind blowing my hair slightly. I silently hummed, enjoying the feeling of the cool air. Konoha was rarely ever cold or snowy, mostly just hot and sunny so I took my time to enjoy the rare comfort of the cool wind.
"Isn't it obvious? We wanted a close-up view of the setting sun…plus it's more enjoyable when you have people to watch it with you," I finally replied.
Sasuke stared at me for a moment "hn whatever it's not like I own the ground or river be my guest," he said turning back to stare at the setting sun.
The three of us silently sat, watching as the sun vanished into the night…little did we know this would be the start of an amazing bromance

I am in the progress of working out daily and losing weight which has left me so exhausted that I couldn't even type or think I just wanted to sleep but here I am finally with some energy to write.
This scene is a reference to the flashback show in the Naruto vs Sasuke final fight where it shows how Naruto wanted to approach Sasuke but was to stubborn to do so.
Next chapter covers the slice of life Rinnefestival chapter.
