Chapter Four
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
A massive green hand appeared in the clouds, enormous and earth-shattering. Its mere movement threatened to obliterate everything in its path.
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOARR!!!
The energy from the hand transmitted through sound waves, fracturing cities and causing chasms to open. Athens trembled under the impact of colossal earthquakes.
"Great... gods..." People in the Emperor's castle fell to the ground, their voices silenced by the sheer magnitude of the hand descending upon them. The hand's single finger was the size of the entire city. it was so big most people thought sky just darkened only to be reminded something was above them by the air pressure it was breaking as it moved, everyone was flabbergasted, just by the hand moving buildings were crackling and beautiful quartz buildings were cracking, everyone that saw this would be absolutely flabbergasted by this, because nobody here ever even saw something like this even in the myths they read, or they had but they were too scared to remember it.
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOARRR!!!
A second hand emerged from the sky, and its airwaves cracked even the most resilient buildings.
"IT'S ABOUT TO SWIPE!!!" someone yelled.
The enormous hand lifted and fell like a mountain.
"AGHGHHGGH!!!"
It aimed directly at the castle.
"SHIT!!!" Alex scrambled for cover, but the hand descended too quickly.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
Everything went white. When the light faded, people noticed they hadn't been destroyed. A few looked up and saw—
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOARR!!!
The hand that was about to strike them had been sliced apart. The cut was clean and horizontal.
"Who is that...?" someone murmured.
A white figure appeared before the hand, wielding a sword enveloped in light. The figure's face was obscured by the brilliance of the light.
Alex, who had kept his eyes open through the attack, was astonished.
"When the hand was just about to hit us, the white light shot up from below and sliced the hand with a single, swift motion," Alex pointed upwards.
"Impossible..." Pericles breathed.
"It's him... the Emperor himself..." Theodoros exclaimed. He was aware of the empire's most powerful individuals, and only one could possess such strength.
The Emperor of the Empire, a 7th Tier Magos.
Alex struggled to comprehend. If this was the Emperor, things were more complicated than he had imagined.
"Just 7th tier is this powerful?" Alex asked.
"Magos possess immense talent. Advancing through ranks if you are talanted becomes increasingly difficult; each level up requires significant talent. Those with higher talent can surpass those at lower levels who have advanced beyond them. That's the curse of talent in this world—and one reason why I'm here," Theodoros explained.
Before Alex could respond, they watched as the Giant and Emperor paused.
"Get lost..." the Emperor commanded, raising 'his' sword once more.
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAR!!!
The Emperor sliced the monster.
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOARRR!!!
The Giant seemed to falter, but the Emperor raised his hand again.
"Disappear, monster!"
Enormous Sparks gathered in the sky, encircling the monster.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
Earth erupted and impaled the monster.
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOARR!!
The monster was held aloft by the magic circles above the Emperor's head.
"~Phanísai ton Krónon" The ancient words echoed through the city.
[A/N Translated from Old Greek: Annihilate The Cronus.]
"OH NO, LOOK DOWN!!!" Theodoros shouted. Everyone complied, looking down as—
BSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Fire gathered into a ball of intense heat.
And—
BSGGHHHGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Just as the beast was about to collapse, it dispersed into gray fog.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
The spell continued, shooting up behind the vanished beast, cracking a mountain.
Everything fell silent for a moment.
"Pity, it ran away..." the Emperor mused, looking down at his castle and then towards the academy. He vanished in an instant.
The people in the city and the castle looked up in awe.
"What was that...?" everyone wondered.
"GO, GO, GO!!! HELP THE PEOPLE!!!" Gard shouted, focused solely on saving lives.
"YES!!!" The army personnel rushed to the headquarters and began assisting the injured.
The city lay in ruins. Buildings were cracked, with about 10% reduced to rubble. Rain continued to ravage what remained.
Estimated casualties were around 10,000 deaths, with damages amounting to 1,500,000 Drachma.
Alex turned to Theodoros. "What was that...?"
"That was one of the most powerful spells in the 7th Tier of Spark Magic. Its power is immense; look..." Theodoros pointed to the mountain.
"It cracked the mountain."
"Phew... It's over..."
"Thank the gods. If it weren't for our glorious Emperor, we'd be lost."
"Yes, I need to make offerings to the gods," someone muttered.
Everyone released a sigh of relief. This had been a near-catastrophe.
Maria stood quietly, staring up as she whispered, "Father..."
Pericles laughed heartily. "HAHAAHAHAAH!!! MY DAD IS THAT POWERFUL, ALEX!!! DID YOU SEE THE POWER OF THE MAGOS? THERE ARE FEW LIKE HIM IN THE WORLD!!!" He punched Alex on the shoulder with excitement.
"Haha... haha..." Alex gazed at the devastated city.
"OH NO, MY FRIENDS!!!" Alex suddenly realized and shouted.
"What's wrong?" Pericles asked.
"My friends are down there, damn it..." Alex worried that his friends might have been lost.
"Wait... come here..." Before the Senate members dispersed, Pericles called over a muscular man in white Greek cloth.
"Yes, prince..." the man responded in a deep voice.
"Tell me their names, Alex," Pericles instructed.
"Gard, Zachary, Barot, Adam, Captain Adam, and a little girl named Amelia" Alex listed.
"Find all of these people immediately," Pericles ordered. The man nodded and set off.
"Don't worry. They will use Spark Magic to locate everyone with those names and show us," Pericles assured Alex.
"Wait, doesn't he need a description or something?" Alex asked, puzzled.
"Don't worry. They'll use Spark Magic to identify them. Now, follow me..." Pericles led the way, with Alex following hesitantly.
"Maria?"
"Yes... haha, sorry..." Maria smiled, following them while glancing back at the sky.
"Now, Alex, let me show you... our glorious castle..." Pericles led him to the second floor, with stairs to the right of the circular room.
"Alright..." Alex agreed, feeling a mixture of relief and anxiety.
And so, the chapter concluded... but did it truly end?
"HOW!!! HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE!!!"
End of Chapter.
