3. Boar Fields

[Saber Boar, LV: 1]

There was a boar facing off against Sam, it stood roughly four feet tall at the back and was pretty large. There was an HP bar above its head. Sam grinned and drew his sword, taking a basic fighting stance. The boar finally noticed him and snorted, it stomped its hooves a few times before charging forward, attempting to impale Sam on its large tusks. Sam jumped to the left and swung his sword at the boar's side as it passed, creating a long gash in its side.

Hmm its defense was decent, the HP bar went down about 3% with Sam's one attack, but it wasn't very much. 'I wonder...' Sam suddenly had an idea as he faced off against the boar once more. This time as the boar charged at him, he simply ran forward a bit and dropped to the ground in a slide. Once he was near the boar's neck he slashed out with his sword.

[Critical Hit -30]

That was it! If he could be accurate enough to hit the weak points he could kill these monsters quickly. Sam used the same trick again but was disappointed when he saw the damage notification.

'It looks like there's some hidden stat that has to do with Critical Hits.' Sam's thoughts were quick, he had no time to waste as the boar kept charging. This time Sam went for a stab to the eye.

[Critical Hit -45]

[EXP +50]

With the last hit the boar died and dissipated into particles. Leaving behind a few coins and a tusk. With a new strategy in mind, Sam continued to look for another boar on the edge of the safe zone. A few minutes later he found and killed another boar.

Sam ignored the system messages and continued hunting boars. Around an hour later, he had killed his 15th boar and had gone to level 4. his experience gain dropped noticeably when he reached level 3, now he was only getting 10-15 EXP per boar kill. He had gained more free stat points but no other skills. 'Hmm I should take a break and try cultivating after I distribute my stat points.'

Now that his stat points were distributed, he decided to try this meditation skill he had. Sitting on the grass, Sam closed his eyes and focused on the two skills he had acquired. Immediately Sam felt something, there was a massive amount of some sort of energy around him. 'This must be Spiritual Energy.' As he sensed it, Sam tried to pull it towards him. Surprisingly the energy began to move and absorb into his body.
