Chapter 12 - A New Perspective

After One Month

Main Character's POV

I asked my family to train me in magic, but they denied my request. I understand their concern, but what can I do? I feel like there's an arrow pointed at my head saying, "This is what you are looking for." It makes sense; people know I'm quite smart for my age. My family is from Hufflepuff House, which is closest to nature at Hogwarts. Both my parents work in professions related to nature. Our family surname is Rowanwood, literally meaning Rowan tree wood, and my name is Ash, which is also the name of a tree.

The only reason people haven't come to me is that I'm already close to three years old, and prophecies generally occur before or at the time of birth. Still, there's no doubt that our family is under some surveillance. If I were to get a wand at the age of three, it would confirm that I am the blessed one.

I can't even practice much as my parents are constantly watching me. So, I started learning by reading zoology and animal books. Thanks to my father being a zoologist, we have a large number of books on magical animals.

I still have a Legendary Magical Beast Egg.

[Legendary Magical Beast Egg: Can hatch a legendary creature. Note – there is a 20% chance of having a progenitor of the species.]

Having a progenitor would surely make it a lot stronger than the rest of its species. I hope it is strong—maybe a thunderbird, a manticore, or even a unicorn. A water type like a Dukuwaqa would also be nice. I plan to hatch the egg on my third birthday, so we will share the same birthday, making it easier to remember. My parents might accept it more easily, thinking it's a gift from magic.

From a General POV

Inside the house, near the fireplace, Ash's parents were discussing.

Mother: Maybe we should give a wand to Ash.

Father: No, not right now. Maybe on his birthday, when things settle a bit.

Mother: How about we make a wand ourselves? You know we got that gift which can control wood. I tried it a bit; I can control a small amount of wood without a wand.

Father: Maybe I'll find some books on that. Let's see if it's possible.

Outside of the Wizarding World

The Templars held a clandestine meeting to bribe politicians and businessmen, promising them a chance to gain the power of faith. As it is known, it's not easy to get such a chance since magic is exclusive to wizards, but faith can be obtained.

Bishop: Gentlemen, as long as our plan is fulfilled, we will provide you with the chance to join the Templars and wield the power of faith. But for that, we need your help. We want you to help us transport our knights to the UK and help us find a person.

Businessman: But the government has already passed an order on this matter. No planes from the church or Vatican are allowed without surveillance. Private planes are under their radar. How should we achieve this?

Bishop: That's for you to figure out.

The room fell silent as the weight of the Bishop's words sank in. The businessmen exchanged uneasy glances, knowing the risk involved but also enticed by the promise of power. They nodded in agreement, each plotting ways to bypass the stringent surveillance.

Some Vampires launched an attack on both wizards and muggles, thinking they could take advantage of the turmoil. However, they were met with strong resistance. Aberforth Dumbledore, Albus Dumbledore's brother, dealt with the vampire threats.

Vampire Leader: Why is a Dumbledore here? I thought Albus Dumbledore had left.

Vampire Subordinate: Sir, he is Albus Dumbledore's brother, but according to our sources, he should not be participating in outside matters.

Aberforth had been actively helping the wizarding community ever since his brother Albus became preoccupied with other matters. Despite his gruff demeanour, Aberforth felt a sense of responsibility, a silent pact made with his brother, though the details of their arrangement remained unknown to others.

As he patrolled the village to ensure the safety of its inhabitants, he sensed the dark magic approaching. The air grew colder, and an ominous silence fell over the streets. Aberforth tightened his grip on his wand, his eyes scanning the shadows for any sign of movement.

He knew he couldn't let the villagers fall prey to these creatures. As he prepared to fight, he thought of Albus and their shared battles during the first wizarding war. Despite their differences, Aberforth's resolve was fuelled by a deep-seated need to protect the innocent and uphold the Dumbledore legacy.

With a determined set to his jaw, he positioned himself at the village square, where he had the best vantage point. The first vampire lunged at him from the darkness, but Aberforth was ready. He cast a stunning spell, sending the creature sprawling to the ground.

The clash of magic echoed through the night. Aberforth moved with the precision and grace of a seasoned duellist, every flick of his wand releasing powerful spells. His opponents, though formidable, were no match for his expertise.

The dim light from the streetlamps cast eerie shadows on the cobblestone streets as the vampires circled him. Aberforth used transfiguration to turn everyday objects into weapons, creating an ever-changing battlefield that confused and overwhelmed his enemies.

Just as Aberforth gained the upper hand, a howl pierced the night air. Werewolves, led by the notorious Fenrir Greyback, joined the fray. They thought the chaos would allow them to attack unnoticed. However, they were wrong.

Fenrir Greyback: How come you are here? Aren't you supposed to be a prisoner?

Gellert Grindelwald: None of your business.

Gellert Grindelwald stepped into the moonlight, his presence commanding the attention of everyone present. He moved with a confidence born of immense power, his wand glowing ominously. With a swift, precise motion, he cast his infamous spell, sending a wave of fire that incinerated the werewolves instantly.

Background of the Fight:

The setting was a small, isolated wizarding village on the outskirts of London. The village had been peaceful until the vampires and werewolves decided to exploit the ongoing magical turmoil. Aberforth had been covertly aiding the village, honouring an unspoken deal with Albus to protect those in need during his brother's absence.

As he fought, Aberforth's thoughts drifted to the agreement he had with Albus. The details of this pact were shrouded in mystery, known only to the two brothers. Despite their strained relationship, Aberforth's actions were driven by a deep commitment to his brother and their shared responsibility.

Grindelwald's sudden appearance added another layer of complexity to the fight. He had escaped from his prison, driven by an agenda known only to him. His presence hinted at larger, more sinister plans in motion, which would have far-reaching consequences for the magical world.

As the night wore on, the clash between light and dark intensified. The village became a battlefield, with spells and curses lighting up the sky like fireworks. The combined efforts of Aberforth and Grindelwald, albeit uncoordinated, began to turn the tide against the attackers.

Sometime before at Hogwarts

Headmaster Dumbledore sat in his office when suddenly his phoenix, Fawkes, emerged, bringing with him a barely alive egg. Fawkes used his tears to keep the egg alive. When Dumbledore approached the egg, it hatched, and a small snake emerged. Dumbledore looked curiously, wondering why Fawkes brought the egg. But before he could think about it, the snake transformed into a baby girl.

Dumbledore, shocked, picked up the newborn girl. His mind stopped for a second. He rushed to the school hospital wing to find Madam Pomfrey and handed the child to her. Seeing the situation, Madam Pomfrey didn't ask many questions and took the child into her arms. After settling the child, she looked toward the headmaster for answers, but he had already disappeared.

Sometime later, the headmaster reappeared, bringing with him a large python. He placed the python near the child and instructed Hogwarts' healer to take care of her and not to worry about the snake harming the child. Then, he left in a hurry.

At Hog's Head Inn

The sudden arrival of his brother made Aberforth's mood bitter.

Albus: I want you to come with me.

Aberforth: I am going nowhere with you. Get out of here. You are not welcome. Never show your face again.

Albus: I know you are angry, but this is important.

Aberforth: Everything is important to you. Your great mission, your greater good line makes me hate you more.

Albus: Fawkes found Nagini with a child who hatched from an egg. It hatched before me, and I think that egg was not supposed to hatch, but now due to changes in the magical world, it has hatched.

Aberforth: So, what does that have to do with me?

Albus: It might be Aurelius' child. I am not certain, but Fawkes confirms it is a Dumbledore.

Aberforth grabbed his brother by the collar.

Aberforth: You're joking, right?

Albus looked into his eyes and said nothing.

Back to Hogwarts

Aberforth looked at the newborn, who was crying. Albus touched his shoulder to comfort him.

Aberforth: Does she also have the curse?

Albus: Unfortunately, yes, but I will do everything in my power to find a cure.

Aberforth: You will do nothing. You have already cost me my sister.

Albus: She was my sister too. I loved her as well. Please believe me.

Aberforth looked at his brother and said nothing. At that moment, the tension between the brothers eased somewhat due to the arrival of the new member of their family.
