Chapter 13: Mystic vs. Mystic

Artemis' POV

"How long have you lived here?" I ask, interested, as Beck leads me through a complex network of corridors.

The structure of the building is simple and appears to be half-built, but as I enter the colossus, I learn that the pack has made many modifications to create a complex labyrinth that only they can navigate.

"We’ve probably been here for about five years now, but before that we had occupied this enclosure at other times. We have many hideouts scattered around London, but in all of them we invest time to make each place a comfortable and safe space for the pack."

"And how do you manage to keep everyone away?" I say while raising an eyebrow.

Then Beck shows me the rooms.

"The building is mine, as well as the rest of the properties. We never stay in any place that hasn’t been previously adapted by the more experienced members of the pack"

His statement leaves me slightly impressed.
