Lord of the Mysteries.

That was Arthur's new world. The good news what that he had just finished the novel so he knew a lot about the world. The bad news was that he had just finished the novel, and so he knew that the world was nearing the apocalypse.

If Arthur was early enough on the timeline, he had enough confidence to achieve Sequence 0. After all, he knew the acting method, had a Card of Blasphemy - so he didn't need to search for potion formulas - and had what he hoped would be his own cheat, the Obscure Tome.

However, that was only if he was early enough.

'Actually, why am I not going crazy over the knowledge about Outer Deities?' Thought Arthur. 'Was it Marcus? Or something else?'

Turning his attention back to the book, on the first page could be seen a description of what it was.

[Artifact 0 - Obscure Tome

Description: A black leather tome in pristine condition.

Power: It holds a great amount of knowledge amount mysticism, magic, witchcraft, ritual, and much more. The tome is able to obtain more knowledge in an unknown way. Its wielder becomes immune to corruption that comes from knowledge. The wielder becomes semi-concealed, those below Sequence 4 cannot pry anything about the wielder using Beyonder methods, not even his Sequence or Pathway.

Downside: It'll impart knowledge not asked, but the knowledge is always correct. It could do so at any point in time, however, the chances grow with each use in a period of 4 hours. Each time the tome is open and closed is counted as a use, the same goes if more than 4 hours are spent reading it.

Bound: Arthur Black

Creation: Sequence 1 Characteristic - Knowledge Emperor]

Arthur at this point was beyond excited. The tome was everything he could hope for in his situation. It made up for one of his shortcomings and let him indulge in one of his hobbies, studying mysticism. The fact it was made with a Sequence 1 Angel characteristic was just the cherry on top.

He really wanted to open the book and read it for a few hours, but he had more pressing matters to attend to. Arthur wanted to see the rest of the ship, and if there was anyone present. He needed to know where he was, and more importantly, how to get out.

He stood up and walked around the deal towards the door of his cabin. Opening it, he went outside and took a moment to marvel at the beautiful cave he was in. The ceiling was high and the walls were filled with multicolored crystals, that shined on their own. The water below was clear, reflecting the light and making a magical scene.

The ship didn't look old, in fact, it looked barely used even if the objects in the captain's cabin told otherwise. Behind him and above the cabin was the helm. On the left-hand side of the ship, the port, and the right-hand side, the starboard, there were cannons and barrels. On the figurehead, there was a beautiful woman, a graceful black angel, with an outstretched left arm and a bird, a dove, about to take flight from her hand.

Going down on the lower deck, hammocks could be seen slung between beams. There were chests, barrels, guns and swords, and more cannons. However, there was no one present.

Arthur looked through the whole ship, but could not find a single person or evidence of other people. He went back to the cabin, only to jump in fright when transparent women appeared in front of him.

The woman had crimson hair, a small nose, and thin lips, with tanned skin. She was wearing black breeches of leather with a waistcoat of rich velvet. A satin sash was tied around her waist, a gun accompanying it, and dark-brown boots to finish it.

"Who are you!?" Asked Arthur, frightened that someone appeared out of nowhere, trying to calm down.

"I'm Sabrina, the spirit of this ship," answered the women. Her words were slow and deliberate as if she was speaking for the first time in a long while.

Arthur was stunned. He was expecting to come face to face with the supernatural sooner or later, but to his first experience in the new world be the ghost of a ship...

'Well, she is beautiful...' Noted Arthur, now that he could think without panicking.

"I'm sorry for disturbing you, I just woke up in this place," said Arthur. It was not his choice to be on the ship, but he was, and therefore had to apologize.

Arthur wondered if this counted as stepping on someone...

"Don't be, I know you were sent here by 'Him', there's no need to apologize," she said. "I'm in the same situation as you. Marcus asked me if I wanted to go to a world where I would be able to sail again, instead of used as a museum decoration, and I accepted. I guess that makes you my captain, Arthur Black."

"But I don't know how to sail..." Arthur had never sailed on his life. Where would an eighteen-year-old have the experience to sail an old ship on his own in the modern era!? Even driving was outside of his experience.

"No need to worry, I can sail on my own for now, but it would be better if you study from my actions and get a crew later on," answered Sabrina with a smile full of mirth.

"If you say so," said Arthur. "And does the ship have a name? Or is it Sabrina too?"

"No, only I'm Sabrina," she answered. "The ship has a name of its own, one I heard was famous on your world."

"Really?"

"Yes, so I welcome you new Captain Arthur Black, to the Black Pearl!" Sabrina exclaimed with a brilliant smile, that seemed more bright than the crystals surrounding them.

Once again, Arthur was too stunned to speak.

...

Sabrina was happy with her new captain. Sure, he was a novice to anything related to sailing, but she could see he had the drive to learn. He was in the same situation as her from his own choice, so she knew he was a decisive person.

Since the new ships were introduced, fewer and fewer people used her for sailing till one day she found herself as a piece of decoration in a museum. Not inside, she wouldn't fit, they had her docked to a harbor, where people could come and gawk at her.

It wasn't the worst existence, the people were there to admire her, in their own way. However, she longed for the freedom of sailing the seas again, with crew on her decks and a captain steering the wheel.

It was not till Marcus came that she found hope. When he asked if she would like to sail again, with the catch being she would do so in another world with a captain with zero experience, Sabrina didn't hesitate before accepting.

A captain with no experience? They could learn.

A different world? New seas to sail.

An apocalypse? Didn't she sail to the end of the world and back? Nothing to worry about.

To Sabrina and the Black Pearl, sailing was enough.
