Blue hair...?

I got ready for school by 5:50am, made my way to the premises as soon as I had wished my grandpa good bye.

On getting to class, I realize I still had time. I took my bag and headed for the library. There, I just sat. Motionless for a while, until I finally muster the strength to check out a few books before classes officially start.

While walking round the shelves, a particular title caught my attention. It was a myth, I loved such stories.

It read, 'bluebloods'. Initially, I thought it would be about witches and magic... but when I began to read. I realized it wasn't about such things, but it was about mermaids.

The question at the end of the story book makes me question myself.

'where they real?'

****

After classes I found myself still lost in thought, seated in front of the hallway.

I was still lost in thought when I felt liquid being poured on me. Not just any liquid, water.

WATER!!! Oh no.

I look up and find Sasha standing Infront of me, with an evil smile. I stood up angry, I was going to show her. I clutched my fists tight, anger flooding my veins.

"you..." I seethed, but then gasps begins to fill the hallway. I blinked, what was wrong?

"look, the spilled water has turned to ice!" someone cried and I gasped in horror.

I could also feel my hair, turning blue. Not just any kind of blue, royal blue.

I quickly grab my bag pack and run out of the school premises. Covering my hair, with the cap attached to my sweater.

I run home as fast as I can and make my way to a shed down the streets. I sit there quietly sobbing, my hair had turned blue, it would take a while for the color to get out.

I was still sobbing when I heard a small voice from behind me. I yelped at the whispered word.

"hello," a calm male voice called.

I turn around, and find a boy my age standing behind me.

How did he get here?

"Where you following me?" I ask, subconsciously getting to my feet. "I wouldn't put it that way." he says rubbing his neck.

"so you were following me." I say crossing my hands, more of a fact than a question.

"yeah" He says weakly, before extending a hand to shake mine.

"I'm Holden. What's your name?" he asks, trying to lighten the mood. "Mystic. I'm Mystic, How'd you get here?" I ask, taking his hand after much thought.

"I wouldn't say that, I sort of just showed up." he says looking around himself.

"you don't know how you came here do you?" I ask, brows high. "no, it happens all the time."

He says not bothered by it. I'm about to say something, when I hear a beeping sound. I look at him puzzled, while he looks at his watch.

"I think its time for me to go home. See you." Holden says, grabbing his bag and running off.

"but I didn't get your address!" I yell after him. "I'll tell you at school tomorrow." He yells back, waving at me, before disappearing down the alley.

Great now he's gone.

I sigh, grabbing my bag and begin the long walk back home.
