The Path

It was weird at first to get used to Peter not being around but Link had kept him company as he explored and went over every item in the warehouse. Link had given Regius the final clue as to why he couldn't formulate spells and the main reason is that Macarthur's original hypothesis about both his mana and concept was wrong it wasn't that it had no type It was more so that it was a type that hadn't ever been seen before as an element that a mana user was in tune with.

Regius mana was composed entirely of the alpha element. Creation mana has been read about in books and seen used by others through the realms but never before had a human ever used it and certainly not anyone with the spirit of a dragon of all things.

Regius was the only living human attuned to creation magic so creating spells was with nothing to go off of was hard enough as it was but with nothing to go off or no precedent to look at he had been lost on the matter the whole time until they stepped into the library and link reacted to the Astra cores.

Link didn't so much speak but he expressed his emotions and the feeling was shared with his connection to Regius so Regius inferred based on the feeling what the Dragon wanted and as he sat in his father's lab staring at the case of Astra cores he finally gave in and from out of his mana space popped out Link.

He looked at Regius and then the case and back at Regius. Regius opened the case and pulled an Astra from the bottom of it. The cores here were of much higher rank than the case held in the library which had been half-empty since Peter left but the lowest ranking core in his father's case was of the archduke level. Regius took the archduke Astra core and held it up to Link and with glee did something that if anyone saw would have caused their jaws to drop. In one big chomp, he bit the core in half and then licked the other half from Regius' hand before waiting for the next one. Regius felt a slight change to the mana in the mana space as the gold became more pronounced but only slightly.

So Regius, as risky as it was, began to feed Link all of the cores that were not at the forbidden rank. It was close to 100 cores from rank 7-11 and at this point, the mana in his mana center had undergone a vast transformation; the gas form mana had begun to form some type of script. The language wasn't clear enough to be deciphered but it was visible at this rate. Regius looked at the patiently waiting Link and then at the last 24 cores that were all at the forbidden rank.

He sighed before he reached for one " No risk.No reward." and with that, he held the core out for Link who proceeded to gobble it down in one bite. A pulse of intense mana shot from them both and the words in the mana space burst from him so all at once he grabbed the rest of the cores and Link ate them two at a time. The mana around him became clear as the last core was eaten and the language that he didn't know began to whirl around the room. The mana began a chant and as the chant began it's almost like the knowledge was being sung to him about what to do next.

The voice of the mana was reminiscent of his mother's voice so as he walked towards one of the rooms that linked to his father's room with a tear in his eye he started commanding the mana in the area. It began to coalesce around his hand into the shape of a hammer as he walked into the darkroom that revealed itself to be a forge. He sat in front of the anvil and once again began to wield the mana in the room. The words began to piece themselves together in front of him in the shape of a sword and with a swing of the hammer and the meeting of the two a blade made not of mana but metal began to form and so he kept hammering until the blade was formed and with a final flourish he slammed the hammer once more and a handle came into creation.

He stopped and the mana began to spin around him once more as he inspected the sword he had made from the mana itself. The sword was ugly, to say the least, and looked crude. So he swung it once and then placed it back down, not satisfied with it at all. Link was looking on with bright eyes before he went back into the mana center, his meal complete.

It was then that Regius had the idea. "I may know nothing about forging but I create these things out of mana, there is no limit to what I can create I just need to know a little bit more about creating and I think I can do this" Regius said out loud to no one. He was smiling all the while though because all the knowledge he would need could probably be found right next to him. He had found his path at last.
