Mental Tug Of War

It's scientifically proven that some improvement from illness to health was facilitated by the will of the patient. There were instances of a patient who was in a coma, the doctors would arrange for the loved ones to read books and even talk to the patient, giving him the courage to come back to the land of the living.

And that's what Elias was doing. In fact, they have been trained in that regard so that injury from missions will not take long before they heal.

With Elias's insane determination and patience, in just 5 days he was able to walk around. 

But he recognized a new problem. His competitor was going to wake up in just three days. He learned from the Wand and the Island that the Prime Crocodile was a new unusual breed of a crocodile as it has deviated from normal crocodiles and evolved into something else.

But above all, its intelligence was comparable to a child's and its aggressiveness has doubled. Its speed has also increased but its hide was weak and can be pricked easily. But even with that weakness, it had won all its fight against other beasts and fed on them.

However, the craziest thing about the crocodile was its insatiable hunger. It was able to feed on beasts multiple times its size without satiety. So it resorted to hunting more per day.

And when it was satiated, it proceeded to sleep for 4 days or 6 days. But if any beast attacked the Island at that time, its instinct would wake it up and defend its territory.

Elias was surprised when he looked at the crocodile, it was just the size of his thigh. Yeah, when he was still Sumo of course.

Knowing it will wake up soon, Elias has been working hard to make a cave and hide inside. Then he will pretend he did not exist on the Island.

He managed to finalize it in time and crawled in with his bundle of grass and water.

He was in the cave when he sensed when the crocodile woke up and moved out from the base pond where the stream stemmed from. After the crocodile surveyed the Island exerting its dominance, it drove the Island, hunting for food.

At that time, he received so many alerts from the Wand, informing him that the crocodile control was increasing, and when it reached 80% then he needed to kill it to gain his Island. 

When it reaches 90%, he will be ejected from the Island. That means he will no longer be connected with it.

And 100%, he will be the property of the beast. Just like how other chests were to him. All the while, Elias ignored that. As of now, he has a pile of leather that he was documenting what had happened from the beginning on them.

He had already gathered charcoal for that purpose. He wasn't writing anything in detail but just a key point that will jolt his memory.

The crocodile fought for three days straight and fed on the beasts before the Island stopped moving and at that time its control became 76%.

Elias understood that at first, the crocodile had problems improving its control but the more it improved the faster it was. And also, the increase in its intelligence helped in the matter.

He was in that thought when the ground shook and shifted. Under Elias' shocked face the ground threw him out and he came face to face with the crocodile.

Its eyes have intelligent beyond what he was expecting, and it glared at him as if saying, I know you were here all along.

"Hello the..re" he stammered.

The crocodile grinned and lunged at him and then….everything went dark. Elias sat there with a sigh, wondering if he had done the right thing!

As the Wand calculated the rating, Elias was staring at the transparent crocodile. It was fascinating that he could see its inside and how its body digested the food it just ate.

The crocodile's eyes were closed but he knew that it was still alive and awake. It was just that it suffered brain damage which shut down its body system.

The reason for that was the moment it showed intention to attack him, he initiated the Mental Tug Of War. Sadly, between him that survived the abyss ordeal, the crocodile was like an ant and an elephant. 

There wasn't even war, its brain just shut down and collapsed.

"99 days, I spent roughly 29 days awake before I was dragged into the abyss. That means… 70 days. Right!?"

Elias counted his treasures and found he only had five. But remembering the Islands he merged with, he smiled and mumbled, they too are treasures.

"Can I give the crocodile partial control?"

"Okay, give it 10% control"

"Okay!"

Elias doesn't want to kill the crocodile but he is still wary of it. But if he shares authority with it, then he will partially enslave it. And it will constantly try to have more control while also being unable to do anything to him.

But, if it didn't have that control, it would be just another beast that he would have to kill or tame. But with its intelligence, it will not allow itself to be tamed.
