Chapter 76 The City of Secrets

The journey to Heccarte coming from the abandoned cathedral took them almost two hours of non stop traveling in the carriage.

"We're almost there." The Orc shouted, loud enough so the people inside the carriage can hear him.

Heccarte is fairly a small city especially compare to Venundarr but this doesn't mean that they don't have good facilities, some may argue Haccarte has better facilities in terms of Inns compare to Venundarr. That's a big praise considering Venundarr is called the City of Gold for a reason.

Cleo and Leah proceed to head towards the gate after paying the fee to the Orc. They can't help but to notice the look of disdain coming from around them. They chose to ignore it for now as long that's the only thing they do.

Upon reaching the gates, an Orc Guard halt them.

"What's two human doing in this part of Zirracania? If you're a fugitive or a slave who escapes its master you will be immediately detain." The guard mocked.

Cleo and Leah was taken a back with the hostility coming from the guard however as to not further escalates the situation they ignore it for now and just brought out Alger's medallion and show it to the guard.

The guard inspects the medallion to check its legitimacy. Once he confirm its the real deal, he click his tongue and gave the medallion back to Cleo.

"Don't make me catch you doing something funny in here." The guard warned.

Leah glare at his remark and unconsciously release an aura, due to their level difference the guard started sweating and avoid her gaze.

"Its getting hot in here, I need some water." The guard said while going inside their barracks to escape from the sudden strong aura he felt.

They still feel that they were somehow not welcome in this city but they don't have any choice, not only they are already here, they also need to find information about Lance or information about who might've caused the mental attack that hit Leah back in the abandoned cathedral.

Since the opportunity to ask where the exact location of the library in this city they just walk around and try to find any signs that may lead to its location. They tried asking for directions but the citizens ignores them or in some cases made fun of them just because they are humans.

After almost an hour of strolling the city, they finally found the library that they were looking for. Comparing it to the public library from the Lavierre Kingdom, it might have more luxurious materials however it is way smaller. They can only pray that the information that they need is in here especially after the harsh treatment they experienced just being in this city.

Before Cleo and Leah manage to reach the front door of the library, Cleo saw a familiar face, a face he wish he didn't want to see anytime soon. He quickly grab Leah and they proceed to hide in an alleyway.

"Wh-what's wrong darling?" Leah wondered why Cleo pull her in an alleyway. "Uhm... its still bright outside but if you can't hold it anymore I'm fine with it." she added, her cheeks turns beet red and her breathing becomes noticeably faster.

"It's not what you think Leah, get a hold of yourself were not exhibitionist, I saw someone I'd rather not see for now or if possible ever." Cleo cleared the misunderstanding. He's not against the idea but even for them its too much to do it in broad daylight.

Leah shakes her head and regain her composure, feeling embarrassed that she misunderstood Cleo's intention. She then peak to see the reason why they are hiding.

She saw a familiar face, a handsome blond elf that's missing an arm but accompanying him is not what she expects. She expected that the Assassin who attacked them should be with him but instead another girl is accompanying the elf.

The girl has an azure eyes and a hair that matches her eye's color. She's around if not a little bit older than both Cleo and Leah.

"Who is that accompanying Clyde? Do you know her darling?" Leah asked.

Cleo felt a shiver down his spine upon hearing Leah's inquiry.

"Yes but it's not what you think, remember when I need to come and convince Alger for our plan? Yes that's it, that's where I saw her." Cleo said almost stumbling in his own words.

"Hhmmmm..."
