Chapter 50 Emerald Gemstone

In a shabby looking shack, a loud voice echoed resulting in the nearby birds to flew from their nest and any approaching wildlife to turn back.

"Th-That's not possible!" exclaimed by Valerie at Clyde's revelation. "There's no way the Protector of Zirracania who was feared by the three God's Chosen of Lavierre Kingdom lose to Camilla!" she added.

"Wait... Calm down. I'm not saying I am the Protector but it is true I am currently a God's Chosen." replied by the elf trying to clear the misunderstanding.

"Tell us all of your God's Gift." intervened by Cleo.

Clyde glance at him, wonders how a commoner knew about God's Gift and base on the commoner's phrasing he was implying he also knew that God's Gift has multiple stages.

After a thorough deliberation, Clyde decides to tell the truth and explained what's his God's Gift. He needs an ally now more than ever. He can't return to Venundarr anymore and most if not all of his shadow units except for Sylvia is probably dead or detained by Camilla.

"How can we make sure you're not just making that up." asked by Valerie. Whose not fully convinced with the detail explanation of the elf.

"I-I don't know." replied by Clyde. His pleadingly eyes shifts its gaze at Cleo as if begging to believe him.

"Give us a moment." says by Cleo and proceed to bring his party at the other corner of the room.

Cleo holds both of Valerie's hands as an added insurance to an argument he's about to tell the hesitant woman. This confuses Valerie while Leah's eyebrow twitch and tightly bit her lips.

"Let's give him a chance. He might be telling the truth. How can we make sure not all God's Chosen chose to publicize their gifts? I don't know how to explain this, just call it instinct, I guess but I think he's telling the truth." whispered by Cleo.

Cleo didn't tell this to Valerie just because he fully trust Clyde. He is already preparing a plan just in case Clyde double crosses them. With both Cleo and Leah effectively have a 12 level boost due to his God's Gift and the insurance of Leah's God's Gift, he's confident they can kill the injured elf when the time comes.

"Are you sure about this Cleo? I know both you and Leah helped me a great ton but can we really trust this elf?" asked by Valerie.

"I agree with darling and I'm sure he won't suggest this if he have no back up plans." intervened by Leah who understands now why Cleo did what he did.

"It might not be your priority right now however I'm sure you want your revenge at Camilla." whispered by Cleo. "We will need all the help we can get but don't worry as Leah said I already have a backup plan." he added as an assurance to the hesitant woman.

Valerie may be always at the side of justice however Cleo's words are 100% the truth. She may be naive but she's not stupid to the point she didn't want Camilla to be punished. Though she prefers her to be imprisoned instead of killing her but with her experience while she was still at the SwordSaints Guild, the law can be bought as long you have enough influence or gold.

"Alright I will trust you on this one Cleo." whispered by Valerie after pondering for a bit.

After hearing Valerie's decision, the party then turn around at the injured elf whose trying to make the now unbounded elf drink a potion.

"Do you have a plan?" asked by Cleo.

Before answering, Clyde brought out another potion and give it to Sylvia so she can drink more.

"I can't go back at Venundarr right now but at least one of you can go." says by Clyde while tossing a medallion with a tree engrave on it to Cleo. "I have a close relationship with the leader of Hallows Guild show that medallion to him as a proof that I sent you." he added.

"You said Magus and Duskfall Guilds are currently at Venundarr why would we risk ourselves on going back there?" replied by Cleo.

"I didn't say that my plan doesn't have risks but we need their help to at least keep the two guilds occupied while we take on Camilla." explained by Clyde.

Cleo wants to proceed with the plan but he's not sure if its worth risking their own necks and what if its a trap.

"Why don't you go yourself?" asked by Cleo.

"Trust me I would but look at our condition and I'm sure Camilla is searching for me right now." answered by Clyde.

"Here, if you're not confident with your skills." says by Clyde while tossing another item at Cleo. "Crush it and you will be teleported back to this shack as long as I'm alive." he added.

Cleo catches the item. Its an emerald gemstone.

"I only have a handful go try its effect now if you don't believe me." says by Clyde while taking out four more emerald gemstone from his spatial ring.

Cleo tosses the gemstone to Anna which she barely caught with her two hands.

"Go outside and crush it." ordered by Cleo.

Anna knew why Cleo handed her the gemstone but she can't really oppose him. It's either risk the gemstone being a trap or experience another hell with Leah.

After Anna went outside Cleo then walk at the direction of Clyde and pointed a sword at his neck.

"If that's a trap, you're dead and stop feeding her potions." threaten by Cleo. He didn't want Sylvia to fully recover just in case Clyde does something stupid.

Sensing the hostility Clyde stops giving potions to Sylvia and raises both of his hands.

After a few minutes a shriek was heard outside the shack.

"You..."

Before Cleo can finish his sentence a black tentacle emerges at the ground. He jumps backwards to avoid it while the Valerie and Leah drew their swords.

Just after a few seconds the black tentacles vanished and a familiar silhouette appears on its place.

It was Anna. The teleportation was successful.
