Chapter 13 Bloodbath
A menacing presence can be seen holding a decapitated head by its hair. This monster looks like a bipedal lizard, has a blue scales and a long pointy tail. It has a full chain armor and wears a skull like helmet.
"M-mercy!" cried by one of the novice while kneeling in front of the menacing presence. However his pleas was answered by a slashing sword. Which result with him splitting into two halves.
Shocked by the sight the remaining novices that muster their last remaining courage despite the massacre finally broke and tried to run for their lives.
Hiding at the nearby bush a pair of red heads can be seen sweating heavily. At this moment the gravity of their circumstance finally sink in. This is not the typical reincarnation story where the protagonist is given a cheat like ability to have the power to save everyone they encounter. They can't afford to intervene here.
Cleo steel his resolve "Leah once the elite monster chase another target prepare to run the other way". whispered by him.
Leah just nods while still gazing at the bloody scenery.
Magno the Cruel then jumps and find its next target. An unfortunate soul was caught by his sinister looking sword. Seeing this action the pair of red heads stood up and run the opposite direction. This the most energy they exert throughout their life time in this world and the previous combined.
The pair runs while holding each other hands they are almost running the same pace with Leah being behind a little. After running that feels like an entire day a familiar face can be seen on the horizon.
A pair of crusaders that has an insignia with a symbol tha looks like a pair of angel wings with a sword in the middle intercept them. These crusaders are Christoff and Valerie which they met a few days ago and helped them complete their swordsman quest.
"We met again young ones! This must be fate!" shouted by Christoff while spreading both of his arms that looks like he is preparing for a big hug.
"H-help them... please..." muttered by Cleo while gasping for air.
"What happened? Breath, calm yourselves before speaking." advised by Christoff.
After calming down Cleo explained to the pair of Crusaders the massacre they witnessed and an appearance of an elite monster.
Hearing what transpire the playful look of Christoff's face change into a more serious one. He glances at Valerie while she just nods in agreement. Even without saying a word to each other both Crusaders looks like they know what to do.
"This might be inconsiderate of us after what you both experienced today but we need you to lead the way." says the raven colored hair Crusader, Valerie. She understand that this is a huge deal to ask for these two however with the forest' nature they might arrive too late.
Leah can be seen tugging at Cleo giving a signal that looks like she is saying not to accept the request. Cleo understand what she is trying to say however his conscience will never make him sleep peacefully in the future.
Cleo decided to help the Crusaders lead the way with a condition that they will cast Sacred Shield at the both of them which the Crusaders easily agrees.
