Chapter 10: Don't go

Meanwhile Ifada was at the palm wine joint drinking and misbehaving. When news got to mama Ifada that her son was drinking so she figured it out that Itoya did not come home with him so she sent for Itohan and told her to go and meet Ifada at the palm wine joint and take him home. When Itohan got there Ifada was already sleeping on the table. She supported him with her body, since Ifada was sleeping she helped him to sleep walk and took him home. When she got to ifada house she took him straight to his room and gently pushed Ifada on the bed and was about to leave but discovered that Ifada was holding onto her skirt and said "don't go, please stay with me" he pleaded with her remembering the dream he had last night he felt that he has the opportunity to be with whoever he wish since Itoya had refuse to come back home, it was as if she did not miss him one bit while Ifada was dying of isolation."I can't stay here for the night I need to go home" she said sadly if it was two or three weeks ago she would have willingly stayed, Ifada even asked her to stay away from him just to prove that they can never be together all she has for Ifada and Itoya now is respect and pray that their love will last forever that was how she was able to overcome her longing for him."Must everyone avoid me, am sorry for not appreciating you" he said still holding her skirt."It's too late, I don't love you anymore" but somewhere in her heart she still had love for him but was afraid that she will be disappointed the next minute if she loose her guard."It's not too late, you once told me that it's not too late to take a u turn, now I wants to turn to you" he said looking at her and blinking with a puppy eye"Not me you are not in your right state of mind, you are drunk" she said still trying to free her skirt. "Am not drunk, I want you, I want you to stay with me you claim you love me why can't you prove it now" he said with a frown. Actually he was drunk but he was very aware of what he was doing he was so lonely knowing what his mother was planning, he decided to play along with them because he does not know if Itoya will ever return to him taking palm wine only made him bold enough to ask Itohan to stay with him "I can't pass the night here I did not tell my mother that I will not be coming home today so I cannot stay""but your mother is aware that you came to me at the palm wine joint she should understand what happens when a mature girl and boy hang out at night ,I can't miss out" he said smiling devilishly at her. Itohan was so scared and was about to flee.The very next moment Ifada stood from his bed and held her on her shoulder putting her on his lap. She tried to struggle but her strength was no match for his so she allowed Ifada to do whatever he wanted, knowing that Itohan had drop her guard he used his hands to ruff her hair putting his face close to her face, he said "Itohan I know am in love with somebody else but I will try to love you, I will work it out. I was too blind to see your love for me but now am ready to value it with my life" he said planting a deep kiss on her lip. The kiss was so deep that they started panting after separating their lips. The atmosphere was filled with lustful desire, Itohan looked into his eyes with affection never in her dream would she ever imagine that Ifada will say such words to her one day.Ifada pulled off his clothes and was about to undress Itohan but she held his hands to stop him and he said "I know you had not done this before, don't worry I will be very gentle with you" with that Itohan allowed him to explore.The next morning Ifada woke up leaving Itohan to continue with her sleep because they got home late the previous night and with what happened between them she was so weak. He went to the kitchen and met Eseiwi preparing food for both of them he was in high spirit so he said."Eseiwi go and get ready for school I will prepare the food" Ifada said to Eseiwi like doting father that he had turned into only one night. At first she was not ready to leave the kitchen because she knew that Ifada came home late last night and he had been going through a lot lately. When she left he added more to the food that was to be prepared.After eating Eseiwi was about to leave for school when Ifada called her back to give her money to buy snacks in school, she was shocked at his new behavior but she had no time to dwell on it because she had to run to school since Itoya was admitted Ifada had stop taking care of Eseiwi, he went out through out yesterday and today he was in high spirit. She was in final term in junior school and was about to write her junior secondary school examination, staying in a moody environment because of a sick mother and a dead child had affected her greatly. She would not be able to focus on her studies because she had been part of the family. After she left to school Ifada went about with his house chores, when he was done he stayed quietly in the sitting room waiting for Itohan to wake up from the deep sleep.
