1. Last Memory

Pain.

Her blurred vision was covered in red. She couldn't move. As if her body was restrained by huge, heavy chains. She heard people laughing and cackling somewhere in the corner.

She tried to move but the success is so little. The clicking sounds of metal attract the people attention as their loud voices stopped.

Step step step...

" Well, well, well...Mrs. Chang awakes already~" a sickening tones sent a chill down to her spine. She struggles to look up at the direction of the voice.

" Leonel..." She hissed in pain as she recognizes the person in front of her. This voice is something she could remember as long as she alive.

" Leonel...is my name in the past. You shall call me Dragon." The man chuckled. He went forward, hooking her bloodied chin up to face him.

" As beautiful as ever, Winter. Oh, no. Shall I call you by your real name instead? Layla!Rose! Adrina...right?" Dragon sneered as she stiffened and a horror expression on her face is evidence to his guess.

" Shut! Up!" Layla growled. This man is insane! A psychotic!

The name he called was her real name in her adopted parent's household registration. Nobody should know her past. This is the biggest taboo in the pugilistic world. Her past record has been erased as she joined the Black Flag Organization.

Dragon guffawed, laughing at her pitiful state. " Layla, you shall keep that small temper of yours to yourself. We won't cross each other if you don't poke your nose into other business. That little Allen should pay a heavy price as he decided to help that friend of his." Dragon flicks her nose as he walked to the side.

" Evan Chang create something he shouldn't. But, sadly, that creation of his becomes the biggest threat to other countries. Especially, M Country. Me, as a good citizen, shall eliminate the threat as a public service to the country. Layla, is that wrong?" the man turned back to her as he stopped walking around.

Layla scoffed, " Did you treat me as a three years old child? Evan's successful creation is meant for a brighter future of humanity. But that country of yours sees it as a tool for a war! Dragon, don't be a fool. Once the chip falls into the wrong hands, the world will suffer from unimaginable disaster!" Layla grit her teeth, bearing a tearing pain from the garish bruises.

" So what? War is the shortest ways to create a better place for future generations. I'm no fool, nor stupid enough to not know the truth. Don't be so naive. The world is not that nice, Layla. It's cruel," Dragon pulled out a box of cigarettes. He takes out a stick and lights it up, slowly savouring the taste to his heart content.

Silent.

" Cruel, huh." She lamented, thinking how right he was, but..." You're right. However, some parts of your words make me want to laugh. War is the shortest path for a peaceful world? Don't fool yourself, Dragon. You know better than me! Because you're one of the seeds from human greed!"

Pah!

Layla's head swung to another side. The heavy slap in her face sending stars as her condition was bad enough. She could feel an iron taste inside her mouth as the warm liquid trickle down from the corner of her lips.

Layla smirked, " Am I wrong? Don't underestimate human selfishness and greediness. The cruellest and darkest part of human is their heart. Not their so-called consciousness." She spat in disgust.

" SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP!" Dragon's eyes turned red. His madness reaches the peak of his consciousness. He swings his feet to her stomach, blasting her last layer of weaknesses.

" Urgh!" Layla spat out a mouthful of blood. She shuddered as she felt a warm flowing in between her legs. A bad premonition creeps into her heart.

' Don't tell me...' Layla wanted to say something, but she failed to see a batton stick flew towards her head.

Bang!

And, everything went black. Her last words before she fell into the darkness was,

' Adrian...'
