My Wife is a Spy

Six years after her brother was killed, Ying Yue finally became the top spy agent at Juyan Intelligence Agency. She leads a double life: a secretary by day, and a spy at night. However, after accidentally protecting her CEO boss on a shoot out, he suddenly has his eyes set on taking her as his wife! ***** It was Ying Yue who broke the tension with a light laugh. "I'm sorry Mr. Fei, I know I might sound absurd, but it sounded like you wanted to actually, really, be in a relationship with me." "It is not absurd." He cocked his head to one side. "I find you smart and attractive, and trust me, I do not remember being attracted to anyone else." Ying Yue's calm façade broke. She frowned, unable to understand what was going inside the brain of the great Fei Huangjin. She used to admire the man, but now she couldn't help wondering if the incident last night made him crazy. "Mr. Fei, I implore you not to make fun of me like this." "I'm not joking." "Yes, you are." She insisted. "Go on a date with me." "No." "And call me Huangjin." "I will not, Mr. Fei!" Her voice had already inched a notch higher. "Why not?"

Why this?

She winced. "You don't understand. I have to see each project through. And I don't have to go alone or complete the mission by myself. However, I do need to dig around it. The facility is more guarded than I realize. And although we can hack into their system, we're blind to the areas underground."

"How about me? If anything happens to you, do you realize you'd be leaving me -- that you'd be killing me?"

Ying Yue closed her eyes. A stinging pain pricked her chest, and the tiredness around her eyes seemed to amplify even more. "You have such a way with words, Huangjin…"

Fei Huangjin's face became ugly. He was both hurt and taken aback that she was reducing his bare confession to merely pretty words said out of nonsense. Did she think he wasn't being serious? He pinched the space between his brows in annoyance. "When do you have to leave?"

Surprised that he gave in so easily this time, Ying Yue blinked a few times before answering. "In a couple of days… I still have a lot of things to handle here."

"Does that mean you won't be going home and spending all your time there?" There was a threatening tone to his voice, something that she hadn't heard in a while. To anyone else it might have sounded like he was scaring her, but she knew it wasn't like that.

"Not really…"

"Then do me a favor and promise me you'll spend your days with me before you go." He said it so adamantly that it left her feeling breathless. "If you need help with work, just say the word; I can help you in more ways than you can imagine."

She felt a bit better hearing his words. They weren't exactly the most comforting things to hear, but to know that he wanted to be of help -- that made her smile, at the very least. "I promise."

Fei Huangjin suddenly thought of something, and decided to use her promise to his advantage. "Well then, since you've promised, go to a party with me tomorrow."

She raised an eyebrow. "A party?" The last party they went to had been months ago -- at CEO Zhang's launching event of one of his electronic products. That night certainly didn't end well, but it did push her and Fei Huangjin together.

"Mmm. I need my wife to by armor against all those vile women who try to stick their hands on me. I wouldn't want my wife to misunderstand me if ignoring them doesn't do the trick. I might end up having to bankrupt another club or another company." He teased.

Ying Yue turned red at his words, and the memory of the recent incident at VX where she'd humiliated one of the women there filled her head. "You didn't have to shut down VX, you know."

"Oh, but I did. I had to. How could I not when that place had upset my wife so much?" He grinned.

On the day of the party, Ying Yue left Juyan early in the afternoon and left it in Xi Shenghui's care. The man had been grumbling all day about it being too dangerous for her to investigate things herself, but she was as stubborn as a mule, and although he threatened to quit if she did, he didn't do it anyway.

He reminded her a lot of Big Boss, but a tad more serious than him.

"What's this?" Ying Yue picked up the red dress laid out on their bed. Could she pull off such a daring color? She usually just wore black or dark dresses when she had to accompany him. It was strapless, and it flowed all the way down to her ankles, but when she ran a hand through the skirt, she found a slit that came up mid-thigh. She narrowed her eyes at Fei Huangjin. "Did you pick this?"

He glanced at the dress and shrugged. "Yes."

"Why this?"

"You're my wife. I want everyone to envy me for having such a beautiful woman on my arm." He said nonchalantly. "And red suits you, honey." He added.

Ying Yue looked at him incredulously. "But why the slit, though? It looks almost indecent had it went up any higher than this."

"Oh, that's for me."

She turned to him, confused. "Pardon?"

"For better access." His eyes dipped down to her legs before slowly going up until he met her eyes again.

"Better--" she caught herself as he realized what he meant, and then she became flustered, flushing a deep scarlet all the way to the tips of her ears. "Huangjin!"

He grinned wickedly at her. He planned to have his way with her tonight.
