My Wife is a Spy

Six years after her brother was killed, Ying Yue finally became the top spy agent at Juyan Intelligence Agency. She leads a double life: a secretary by day, and a spy at night. However, after accidentally protecting her CEO boss on a shoot out, he suddenly has his eyes set on taking her as his wife! ***** It was Ying Yue who broke the tension with a light laugh. "I'm sorry Mr. Fei, I know I might sound absurd, but it sounded like you wanted to actually, really, be in a relationship with me." "It is not absurd." He cocked his head to one side. "I find you smart and attractive, and trust me, I do not remember being attracted to anyone else." Ying Yue's calm façade broke. She frowned, unable to understand what was going inside the brain of the great Fei Huangjin. She used to admire the man, but now she couldn't help wondering if the incident last night made him crazy. "Mr. Fei, I implore you not to make fun of me like this." "I'm not joking." "Yes, you are." She insisted. "Go on a date with me." "No." "And call me Huangjin." "I will not, Mr. Fei!" Her voice had already inched a notch higher. "Why not?"

He kinda has the right

He came down not a minute later with Xi Shenghui at his heels. Big Boss' brows were furrowed and his lips curved downward as he examined the image of the woman on the computer screen. "Where is she?"

"Jifeng town. Outside the west border of S city," Mo Yiling drawled. Although Ying Yue's disappearance was a pain in everyone's ass in Juyan, he couldn't help but think that the situation was a bit funny. The top agent disappears to go on a personal mission and they find her casually sipping coffee like she didn't have a care in the world. "Based on the list I gave her, she's probably going to check out an antique in the town that's been registered for an auction as M-8927."

"Don't think I'm letting you off for giving her that list."

Mo Yiling's wasn't the least bit threatened and countered the man's accusatory look with a wink.

Big Boss ignored him and turned to Xi Shenghui, who was squinting on the photo of Ying Yue with his jaw clenched. There was a trace of anger and frustration in his eyes that was difficult not to see. "Shenghui. Get the phoenix team and bring back shadow fox straight away. She's been out on her own for too long."

Xi Shenghui nodded, turning to leave without a sound.

"Why him?" Mo Yiling sat down and placed both hands behind his head. "Why don't you call that Fei guy?"

The man had a complicated expression on his face as he sat down opposite Mo Yiling. "We need to get her back here first. I need to talk some sense into her. If we call him, he's just going to take her away to who-knows-where."

"He's the boyfriend. He kinda has the right." He smirked in reply.

"He's the boyfriend. But we're the family." Big Boss gave him a pointed look, daring him to answer him back and refute his statement. The two men just looked at each other until Mo Yiling shrugged, making Big Boss sigh in exasperation. "I'll call him when the phoenix team has secured her."

***

Ying Yue's eye locked with the woman across her, who had been staring at her for the past 5 minutes with something that looked like adoration in her eyes.

How weird, she thought.

The rain was getting stronger at each passing minute, which meant that it would be difficult for her to get to the ancestral house in the middle of town that housed the antique jar she was looking for. Although she didn't want to stay too long in the café, it was the only option for now. She didn't rent a room in Jifeng town thinking that she could check out the antique for a few minutes and then leave. Ying Yue took another sip of her coffee and closed her eyes for a while.

Her ears picked up the faint sound of a running car engine and she looked out the window with a frown.

"Shadow fox."

The deep voice startled her momentarily, and she slowly turned her head to see Xi Shenghui standing beside her table, wearing a black coat over his gray shirt and pants. Seriously, did this guy even wear anything that wasnt black, white, or gray? "Shenghui." She smiled up at him. "Took you long enough to find me."

She didn't seem too surprised to see him. Xi Shenghui sat down at the empty seat on her table, looking at her unpleasantly. He sucked in his cheeks before saying anything to her. "How could you be so careless and stupid?"

His words took her aback. Xi Shenghui had always been polite with her. Even on times when she purposely annoyed him, the most he would usually do was keep quiet and ignore her. The apparent surprise in her face shifted to indifference as Ying Yue became defensive. "I did what I had to do."

"You're not a gangster. You're someone with responsibilities." He spat out the words with force. "Even if you wanted to go off on your own, the least you could do was to wear your tracker and bring the f*cking pen I gave you. Big Boss suspended Juyan's operations the past few days so the tech team could focus on looking for you, trying to figure out if you were safe and alive. I do have to commend your evasion techniques though. You've successfully been off the radar this whole time. But you're acting like a brat. I don't even know why Big Boss cares so much about you when you don't even give a damn about him."
