My Wife is a Spy

Six years after her brother was killed, Ying Yue finally became the top spy agent at Juyan Intelligence Agency. She leads a double life: a secretary by day, and a spy at night. However, after accidentally protecting her CEO boss on a shoot out, he suddenly has his eyes set on taking her as his wife! ***** It was Ying Yue who broke the tension with a light laugh. "I'm sorry Mr. Fei, I know I might sound absurd, but it sounded like you wanted to actually, really, be in a relationship with me." "It is not absurd." He cocked his head to one side. "I find you smart and attractive, and trust me, I do not remember being attracted to anyone else." Ying Yue's calm façade broke. She frowned, unable to understand what was going inside the brain of the great Fei Huangjin. She used to admire the man, but now she couldn't help wondering if the incident last night made him crazy. "Mr. Fei, I implore you not to make fun of me like this." "I'm not joking." "Yes, you are." She insisted. "Go on a date with me." "No." "And call me Huangjin." "I will not, Mr. Fei!" Her voice had already inched a notch higher. "Why not?"

Eat something

Guan Ting turned back to glance at the panicking young madame and hurriedly unbuckled himself from his seat. "Sh*t!" He scrambled over to the back just as she checked Fei Huangjin's pulse.

"He has no pulse and breathing!" Ying Yue exclaimed. She started pumping on his chest with all her might.

"Move over!" Guan Ting shoved her gently and took over with performing the CPR as she leaned over Fei Huangjin's mouth to blow air into his lungs.

Her eyes reddened and they burned with the kind of pain that had seen too many losses today. Was the world against her? First, it was Big Boss, and then Mo Yiling, and now Fei Huangjin was in a critical state. She hadn't even told him she'd missed him while he was gone. That she felt his absence. That everything was better when he was around.

"CAN'T THIS HELICOPTER GET ANY FASTER?" She cried out.

The pilot gulped uneasily. "Apologies, madame! We're nearing the hospital!"

Guan Ting panted beside her as he continued pumping.

In less than a minute, the helicopter landed softly, and the hospital staff rushed Fei Huangjin into the building for an operation, leaving Ying Yue exhausted in the waiting room. She'd refused any treatment from the hospital even with Guan Ting's prodding -- preferring instead to sit and wait until news of Fei Huangjin's operation would come to light.

"Here, eat something." Guan Ting held something on his hand.

She looked up at the somber but sincere look on his face before shifting her gaze to the steaming cup of instant noodles he was offering. Her brows furrowed and then she shook her head, looking instead at the doors to the operating room.

"For sh*t's sake-- it's not poisoned!" An ugly expression crossed his face.

She bit her lip and ignored him.

Guan Ting fought the urge to strangle her. How dare she think that he, Guan Ting, would ever poison his master's wife? Admittedly, he'd done far worse things than that in his lifetime, but he would never sink THAT low. And he'd never betray his master either.

He kicked the foot of the bench that she was sitting on, and he was about to say something mean to her when he noticed that her eyes had watered, and she seemed to be struggling to hold back her tears from falling.

He sighed. And then he sat down beside her.

An awkward silence settled between them before he said anything.

"I think we got off the wrong foot." He side-glanced at her, but she was doing a good job of focusing her gaze ahead and ignoring him, like he was nothing but air. However, they were right beside each other, so he knew that even if she tried not to, she had no choice but to listen to him. He thought maybe he could start by introducing himself properly. "I'm Guan Ting. I act as Fei Huangjin's right hand. Most of the time, I take care of the Dragon Club under his orders. You see, he leaves the difficult stuff for me to do, or give the ones that are extremely confidential. I also oversee the training of new members… But other times, he makes me do shitty stuff, like take pictures of the both of you like some nasty paparazzi so he can put it up in the newspaper and declare you as his woman."

Ying Yue's cheek twitched slightly.

"Last week, he brought me all the way to another country to find someone who knew some shit about you." Guan Ting saw Ying Yue move her head slightly to his side, so he continued. "We ended up in the mountains, with no satellite equipment with us, and you know what he was most worried about?"

He turned his head to her, and Ying Yue quietly shook her head.

"That he couldn't call you." He grimaced. "That guy's so whipped for you that he can't even tell right from left. So don't blame yourself for what happened to him. Besides, he's stronger than you think."

Ying Yue gazed ahead to the doors of the operating room again. She hated to admit it, but he seemed to have read her mind. She did blame herself for Fei Huangjin's state right now. In fact, she even wondered if the relationship was a good idea. She hadn't exactly brought anything to the marriage other than her problems.
