Why you can't just die

August had no words to speak. He just sighed and put the suit back. No one can win against her in bickering.

"Well, if you don't like that. You can shop your stuff yourself." Azrael asserted.

August remained quiet and just shook his head. "It's fine, I am going back home today." He explained further.

Azrael was not blind to notice that he was acting differently than usual. The guy who joked even after death and betrayal was not someone who would be quiet over nothing. Something was definitely wrong.

However, Azrael didn't question anything about it. She was well aware and she had nothing to do with his problem and she would love the further he leaves.

"Well then, don't forget to give me your contact information. You still have to catch those souls you freed." Azrael announced, acting as usual.

August nodded in affirmation, and spoke nothing. His nodding gave him the answer. She walked out not proving the conversation further.

August saw her leaving a silhouette. He sighed, wearing his same old clothes. He walked down the same route he came there. He thought to thank Azrael before leaving but she was nowhere to be found. At the end he just gave in and left.

Luckily to him the mansion looked less haunted than it was at night, after walking a bit down the alley, he was at the main roads. Turning aback, he could only see the luscious green forest concealing the mansion.

Not thinking further he took a taxi and went straight for his apartment. More than Azrael, something else took his brain right now. August braced himself before he met his girlfriend more like his ex-girlfriend. Everytime he thinks he had to meet

August looked back and the mansion was concealed by the forest. Taking the taxi he went straight to his apartment. The image of her smiling ruthlessly while he fell from the bridges, stabs him right at his heart.

Not wanting to imagine that vivid image of betrayal. His eyes pondered out of the window, trying to focus on the scenery that changed rapidly with each passing second. His eyes still captured the panorama of the city. It seems the same, people are busy with their lives. The tall skyscrapers touched the sky.

The hustle and bustle of the city looked so normal in his eyes, that August questioned his consciousness. Everything that happened the previous night was just a hallucination but then he was coming from her house.

His headache got worse the more he deliberated on the topic. It was already more than enough with his betrayal and everything that thinking one more thought sunks his body into a deep hole.

While his thoughts drifted off further, the moving taxi came to halt jerking him out of all things. August peeked at the apartment complex standing in front.heaved out a sigh and walked straight to his unit.

Trying his best to keep his emotion in check, his heart pounded against his ribcage so that he could hear the beats on his naked ears. The idea of him going to confront his murderer that he loved so much made his stomach feel sick.

With each step he took towards the flat, August had to remind himself to not think about anything. Keep his emotion. He took a deep breath, as he stood in front of the door. His hands slightly trembling at the presumption of him soon meeting the person dragged his life.

He walked straight to his flat on the third floor, bracing himself to confront the woman he loved the most once. Just a day ago, he was ready to die for her.

August's pace got heavier with every step he took towards his flat. His hands clench hard onto the railing of the stairs. August tried his best to think rationally which was the reason he took the stairs instead of the lift.

In contrast , it backfired on him. The more time he took to reach his floor, the more he was losing grip on his emotions. His heart beating louder and faster, as his feet reached his destination.

August exhaled, forcing himself to relax. With a straightened back, he pressured his finger to move towards the door knob and unlock it.

However, his finger stopped moving midway, when the door was flung open. His straight brow furrowed together. Fingers balled into first instantly his eyes landed on the woman standing before him.

Clenching his jaw hard, he forced his lips to arc up to smile,"Lyn…" His voice trembled like his body.

His throat felt painful and stuck. As if he swallowed a live cactus whole and now it stuck in his larynx.

Ailyn was petrified to her place, on seeing him standing at the doorway. The heart stopped beating. The stuff on her hand dropped into the floor with a loud resonance.

The sound brought her back to life. Her eyes widened in disbelief. How could he… Ailyn took a step back, fears enveloping her. Her lips quivered with brows knitted together.

"No…" In response she tried to close the door.

August showed through her, and jammed his legs in between trying to break in. He just wanted to know why she did that. Why did she have to act like this?

"Ailyn, let it go! I swear I just want to talk." August tried to make her understand.

Ailyn stopped forcing the door on him. She slowly let it go, as she finally came to her senses.

August sighed out in relief, and opened the door, completely not minding at her actions.

'Don't lose control of your emotions, just ask the reason and leave.' He warned himself in his brain.

However, a sudden stinging pain hit the left side of his head. The dizziness took over his body. With a disoriented view, the last thing he saw was Ailyn standing in front of him with a broken vase in her hand.

"You…" August tried to speak something but his concussion took over him.

Ailyn remained alert even after he laid on the floor unconscious. Grabbing a bit of courage, she propelled his body with her feet.

Noticing he was actually unconscious, she sighed in relief, and threw the vase away, which had a bit of his blood.

Ailyn looked at the guy with rancour, clenching her jaw tight. The bitter taste of seeing him reappear at the doorstep just when she packed her luggage ready to leave.

"Why can't you just die?" She cursed, balling her fist.
