Haneul's casual wide pants fluttered about vigorously as she ran after the thief who had just stolen the present she had gotten for Yeom Tae. Though she had yelled at him, not many people followed the man and continued with their business.
The man was swift and fast but somehow sluggish. He took a sharp turn towards an alley on his right, hoping to lose Haneul. But the woman was on his tail. No one was going to steal her heartfelt wishes for her husband.
Unlike the crowded marketplace, the alley was extremely lonesome. The man slowed down after running far into the alley until he eventually stopped. Haneul stopped as soon as the man stopped. This was strange. If he was a thief, he should've kept on running. Haneul turned briefly to look back. She was surprised to see how far into the alley they had come. She scoffed, thinking that the thief was too high of himself to think he stood a chance against her.
