Hopelessness

Haneul walked around the hospital hallways, her new intern squad and junior doctors just walking behind her as they had just finished the inpatient rounds with her. Although they were doing the rounds and were completely immersed into it, Haneul only thought about her husband. This morning was special to her since she had woken up to the morning routine she so missed.

Her husband had cooked breakfast for her even before she woke up and they ate together before both leaving for work. She hadn't realized how much she had missed this routine until now. It occupied her mind for as long as she was at work. The best thing about it was that it kept her wanting more. She couldn't help but feel excited to go back home.

A once in a lifetime feeling it was, especially for Haneul who had always chosen work over everything else. Maybe it was because of how special Yeom Tae made her feel that she was dying to go back home and see him.
