The day after Melina's debutante ball, the news about our engagement spread like wildfire all over the world.

Of course, having representatives from almost every nation present there made it easy for the news to go around quickly, though I didn't expect it to be that fast.

In a world that didn't have social media or quick ways of communicating, they certainly spread information quickly when it interested them.

Nonetheless, I wasn't opposed to the idea of people knowing about our engagement since it would deter other nobles from proposing themselves.

We decided that the wedding would take place a year and a half from that moment, mainly because we were tired of attending ceremonies.
