The guards' eyes all lit up, immediately thumping their chests in assurance. "Miss Jules, don't worry, we will search as thoroughly as we can!"
"I will have to entrust this to you all!"
Lucille let out a small sigh of relief.
Under the promise of a hefty reward, all guards were filled with enthusiasm.
They searched every hole and corner, not leaving a single spot unchecked.
Lucille, flashlight in hand and wearing a raincoat, stepped into the rain as well, intending to join the search.
Yet she had only taken a few steps when her vision blacked out, a strong sense of dizziness washing over her. She stumbled forward, but luckily Isaac caught her in time.
She found herself in Isaac's arms.
Isaac stiffened, his tall body tensing up.
It was just a momentary pause.
Once Lucille snapped back to her senses, she immediately retreated two steps, an apologetic note in her voice, "Sorry, Captain Gilbert, I didn't do it on purpose."
