Lucille closed her eyes.
No matter how one put it, she was undeniably linked to Noelle's death.
She had promised to save Noelle, to bring her back to safety.
Yet in the end, she failed to keep her word.
Lucille stood up. Her body was experiencing the backlash of the poison attack and she hadn't eaten all day, so she was still somewhat weak. The moment she got up, her vision blurred, in and out of darkness.
"Lucille..."
Molly looked worriedly at her.
“I'm fine, don’t worry." Lucille pushed aside the curtain and walked out of the tent.
At the far end of the camp, a pallet was made from tree branches for Noelle's body.
Since Noelle's body had fallen from such a high cliff, it couldn't stand being transported. It had to be cremated on the spot.
Beside the pallet, upon hearing the tragic news of her daughter's death, Elain was grief-stricken and in absolute despair.
