That made Evelyn smile brightly.

Men were unlikely to try to know a woman's thoughts at her age unless they were already very interested.

"Trust me, no woman would love a man from that family. All they love is their wealth," Evelyn replied casually. "It's not that I only want my husband's money, but now that he's dead, I'm free to do whatever I want."

"Aren't there many men your age? Men like that are more suitable for you," David said.
